In Dreams 5
` Am I dead? No, I can't be or that dog over there would be too, and I just can't see heaven holding both me and the animal that killed me in the same spot.' Kagome thought to herself. `My head is killing me.' She thought scrunching her nose in annoyance.
For hours Kagome was drifting in and out of her restless sleep. She didn't feel pain, though she knew that she had to be dreaming, for she found herself having the oddest fantasy. In several of her dreams feature a gorgeous man nursing her to health.
This handsome hero had long silvery white hair that hung loose, thus making him look wild. His eyes were of molten gold that showed genuine concern for only her. On the top of his head were dog ears that would twitch every once in awhile. This dream man also had fangs?
Kagome didn't mind any of those odd things because she knew that she was dreaming. The main proof was that he was taking care of her in the nude! She figured that her dream man wanted to give her a wonderful display of masculinity. And to even made this dream even more delicious, he called her in more then one occasion Mahal, which in some would translate it as `my love.'
Yes Kagome's imagination was running wild along with her fever, and she had no complaints. That is until she saw the giant dog approach her in the dream.
“Bangun……(wake up) come on Bangun (wake up)”
Kagome listening to those words came awake instantly. As she shot straight up in the bed, she noticed she wasn't outside on the ground where the beast found her. No instead, she is in a hut, tucked in a bed with furs as blankets.
`How did I get here?' She wondered to herself. She looked down at herself and discovered that, she was clothed, but in a simple long white shirt. She wasn't wearing any undergarments, but at least she had some covering. `Where am I?' She thought to herself as she started to get up.
She was still a little groggy, but she could manage. Wow this hut has fur for carpet, must be nice.' She thought as she yawned. As pulled her self off the bed, she found that the fur carpet moved from under her. Instantly a loud yelp was heard, and the floor of fur became a giant white dog. Kagome jumped back on the bed and screamed.
“Sorry! I didn't know you were laying there. Wait a minute you're the dog who almost ate me aren't you! Who are you? And how come you can talk?” She began asking the beast question after question, not leaving any time for an answer.
The beast's twin then walked in then and growled at her. Kagome stopped dead in her interrogation, and panicked. `There is no way I could take the two of them.' She thought.
The second dog looked at her and his brother took a sniff to see if there was any real danger, when satisfied he went over to the other side of the bed and laid down.
“Look guys I'm not a dog person, you two seem really nice, and sort of cute, but I must be going.” Kagome said as she attempted to head to the door. The beast that she previously injured whimpered and sniffed at her, as if he didn't want her to go. Instantly Kagome petted his head as if she felt bad for hurting him, and continued her escape.
`No, go back to bed. You need your rest Mahal' the voice in her mind said. Instantly as if she had a spell cast on her she grew tired. She stumbled back to the bed, but not without tripping on the beast again. While apologizing to the pillow, Kagome fell back to sleep.
Moments later the two beast's tails began to wag at the arrival of their companion and brother. The Hunter helps bags full of herbs to help his guest break the fever and heal with the least pain possible.
As he walked to the table one of the dogs approached him and whimpered, as if telling him of all the injustices the girl had done to him.
“I told you several times Kiba that you are too curious for your own good. Not only does she think that you can mind speak to her, she also thinks you are taking care of her. In my opinion, she should have stepped on you twice.” The beast huffed and nuzzled his companion's neck.
The hunter looked over at the other side at the other dog. “You are the polar opposite. You think that by you hiding all the time would make her think you're not around, but I warn you Tama, She's more fearful of you then you are of her.” The said dog growled at the accusation and put his head down to take a nap.
When both beasts left him alone he walked over to the girl with treating her in mind. Though every time he touched her; that flew out of his thoughts and others came in. Thoughts of mating and birthing his pups came to mind. He knew from the time he smelled her blood that she belonged to him. The problem was, how is he going to convince her that.
He had been alone for over one hundred years. Sure he had a few friends, but he didn't know the first thing about courting a woman. “It's easy, all you have to do is not scare your future mate.” Was the only piece of advice he got from his older brother. That tidbit worked out for him for he is mates with Charlie, his now tribal sister and friend. Who knew that his sister's friend would be his future mate.
When he finished tending her, he took her shirt off, and traded it with a new one. “Ok, you must be strong Mahal for in the morning, you will meet you future mate.” He said as he bent down and kissed her forehead.
Kagome release a contented sigh and snuggled in the fur deeper. She had a smile on her face. That action caused the hunter to give a rare smile back.
For the first time in his life, he felt like he arrived home.
