Chapter 14: Into the woods

 

Inuyasha was standing in a cove of the seven waterfalls. Knowing that he didn't travel here, he stood waiting for whoever summoned him.

 

“Hello brother.” Came from behind him. Without turning around he knew who it was.

 

“Why did you summon me Kanna?” Inuyasha asked.

 

“We don't spend time with each other anymore. We wanted to see you, is that alright?” Kanna approached him slowly.

 

Inuyasha's eyes narrowed at the child. Her voice sounded older. Even how she said she wanted to see him sounded seductive. He looked at her eyes and saw that her eyes were green.

 

“What do you want Kanna?” he asked

 

“We want you brother. It's always been you that we wanted. But you never paid attention to me. All you think of is that witch. What makes her so special brother? How dare she say your name! She should die. You belong to me!” the child said.

 

“What happened to we? Did you take over all of the control? Who are you? What have you done to Kanna?” Inuyasha said at the girl. The girl smiled at him and walked away from him.

 

“You will find out soon enough dear brother, after I take the life of that vile thing called Kagome. And you will be mine.” With that she disappeared into the forest into the darkest path.

 

“You will be mine.” Was the voice that echoed in his head, as he woke up.

It was early; the sun had not risen when Kagome suddenly was awaken by something. Opening her eyes she saw Inuyasha looking intently at her. `I wish he would stop looking at me like that.' She thought as she gave him a warm smile. She shook her head, at the thought and closed her eyes. He nudged her again, and she murmured.

 

“What's going on?” She asked snuggling deeper into the pillow. He leaned over and kissed her forehead. “Come on sleepy head. Time to get up.” She threw her arm at him and rolled over.

 

“I want to show you something, come on we have to hurry.” He said as he lightly tugged her. Kagome gave a small whine of protest, but got out of the furry covers. She threw on her pants, and fixed her hair. Within minutes she was ready.

 

“Where are we going?” she asked as he stood by the door waiting for her. He had a pair of jeans on, but nothing else. In fact since she met him, he always went around topless. That's probably why she thought he was naked the first time she met him. Shaking that thought he had his back to her and kneeled.

 

“Get on my back. It's a surprise.” He commanded. At first she looked at him like he was crazy, but then she realized that when it came to Inuyasha, anything's possible. She got on his back and they were off.

 

`Boy this is incredible.' She thought as they traveled at a vast speed. He was not only fast; he also could jump great distances. `It's almost like flying.' She thought as she closed her eyes, and allowed the wind to hit her face.

 

For some reason they were heading upwards. She opened her eyes to see that there was a mountain that they were climbing up to. Once at the top of the mountain he set her down and took her by the hand.

 

Though it was still dark, she could make out the surrounding land. The sun was about to come up, and she saw that she was looking down at the clouds. It was breathtaking. She looked up into the sky and noticed that it was a full moon.

 

“Look over there, that is where the sun will come up. While it rises look at the moon as well.” He said as he sat down and looked on.

 

Minutes later, the sun began to make it's appearance. It looked hug! The sky around it was a vast amount of reds and oranges. Kagome let out a gasp at the beauty of the sunrise. Listening to his suggestion of looking to the moon, she looked over and was stunned by what she saw.

 

The moon looked like it was retreating into a mist of clouds. It was quite visible, but the array of colors around it was breathtaking. Purples and blues surrounded it she felt like she was in another planet.

 

“You see the beauty of both the sun rise and the moon set? Legend has it that the Sun and the moon both wanted to be mates to the earth. So once a month, during the full moon, the sun and Moon would display themselves, almost trying to out do the other for earth's affection.” He said to her.

 

“Who won?” Kagome asked

 

“It depends on whoever views this. If you think the moon set is more beautiful then the sun rise, then the moon one. If you think the sunrise is more beautiful then the sun won. I personally favor the moon. It has a deeper meaning to me.” Inuyasha said as he stared at the last glimpse of the moon.

 

“I think the moon is more beautiful too.,” she agreed

 

She couldn't help but have tears in her eyes as she saw the beauty of the land. “Thank you for taking me.” She said as she gave him a hug. Not wanting to just have a hug, he bend down and started to kiss her. Releasing her he propped his forehead against hers.

 

“I have never felt so alive before.” He started out. Looking at her. “I don't understand why, but you are all I think of. It's almost like I need you like I need to breathe.”

 

“I feel the same way.” Kagome said suddenly. She took that opportunity to kiss him again. He pulled away again and took both of her hands. “We have some traveling to do today. Are you up for it?” he asked. She nodded and he continued. “First we need to go to the village. You will be needing some clothes more appropriate for were we are going.”

 

She looked down at her clothes in confusion, and yet again he explained. “Here, they look down on women who dress like men. You will wear something that will appease them. Besides, I have a surprise at the village.” With that he crouched down again and she climbed on. And they were off.

 

`Don't worry Kanna, I will find a cure for you. Me and Kagome will.' Inuyasha thought to himself as the two of them had set off to the village. The first thing he needed was to know how he could save the girl.
