Chapter 27:

 

In the forest:

 

 

Inuyasha was once again frustrated beyond belief. After the distraction Tsubaki had given them, he lost Kagome again. `Can't she ever stay still?' He mentally growled. Now he couldn't find her any traces of her scent anywhere. His two companions went searching, but shortly came back unsuccessful.

 

Kikyou, for her part closed her eyes and tried to find Kagome's Aura or Tsubaki's for that matter. She too could get anything.

 

“Well it looks like neither one wants to be found.” She calmly said to the man before her.

 

“What the Hell is going on? Where is Kagome? Why can't I smell her? What is going on Kikyou?” Inuyasha said eyes narrowing suspiciously at the former miko of the lands.

 

“That I do not know. It seems like the forest wants her to save Kanna on her own. Plus her leaving us proves that she wants to help her.” Kikyou replied.

 

“Damn, I told her to stay close to me. Why does she have to be so impulsive?” He resigned, his anger refusing to calm itself.

 

“If she wouldn't give into her impulses Inuyasha you would have never met her.” Kikyou replied walking away from the man and his two companions.

 

“Hey, where are you going? Why does everyone feel the need to split up all the time?” Inuyasha asked. The two questions went unanswered for Kikyou left the area.

 

“I do not care what she says. Come on, it's time to hunt guys.” He said as he and his two companions went off in search of Kagome.

“What happened to you Sango?” Naraku asked knowing that no one could answer him.

 

Naraku was confuse and angry. The more he thought about things the angrier and scared he got. How dare they accuse him of murdering his wife? Is she really dead? “Who ever did this to her will be killed personally by me.” He declared to no one.

 

It was bad enough that they tried to arrest him of stealing a car. Mind you it was her car that they thought he stole. Then try to get him possession of drugs. `As if I would do coke.' He thought bitterly.

 

“Why Sango?” he asked again. He loves Sango. How could they think that he would kill the woman he loved?

 

After the police got done questioning him (with his lawyer present of course) he left the station and decided to stay in a hotel. He could very well go home since it was considered a crime scene, but he really didn't have too many other places to go.

 

His so called colleagues refused to answer his calls and all that was left was for the media to bash him. In one day's time the things he held precious; his life, his career, and his wife all had been taken from him.

 

He had one more person he needed to call, and he prayed that they would help him out. After all, he helped her to become governor.

Kagome after awhile felt herself grow drowsy. `Where am I?' The scenery around her grew hazy and blurry. `Why can't I concentrate?' she thought to herself.

 

As if understanding her plight, a gush of wind blew around the area, thus making the intoxicating aroma, to lessen. She shook her head, as if clearing it and happened upon an old shrine and old well house.

 

There was nothing extraordinary with the shrine it except the location of it. It was in the middle of nowhere. ' Who would come to worship?' she thought as she looked around. the old well house that stood a few feet from it sent chills down her spine. She looked in and noticed that the well itself was boarded up. 'What is this? Is this like The Ring or something?' she thought as she slowly walked away from it.

 

“Oh so I see you followed me little girl.” The voice behind her declared. Kagome turned around and saw Tsubaki standing before her with a smirk.

 

“I don't know how effective you are in fighting now that you are in my territory. The Hallucinate fields will actually overpower you and you would not stand a chance. So, should I just let you suffer a slow and painful death or should I show mercy on the woman who tried to steal what belongs to me!” she screamed as she threw yet another strand of hair.

 

Again Kagome repelled the snake and it hit Tsubaki, thus injuring her. `What is she? Why can she still control her powers?'

 

“Tsubaki, leave Kanna now! “ Kagome yelled. Even though she was able to defend herself from the enchanted creatures, she had no idea on how to attack the dark miko. So she decided to do it the old fashion way. Hand to Hand combat while Tsubaki was regaining her balance from the impact of the attack, Kagome ran up to her. Balling her fist she went after Tsubaki and punched the other woman.

 

The punch proved most effective because Tsubaki fell over landing on her back with a loud “What the Hell?” she screamed then she pounced on Kagome. Since the other girl wasn't expecting the attack, Tsubaki straddled Kagome and started smacking her right across the face.

 

“You will be killed by me. You can't have him. He is mine!” Tsubaki seethed smacking the other girl.

 

Kagome blocked the blows and screamed at her. “Stop it, let me go!” with that being said, she began to glow. When Tsubaki noticed the Change her eyes started to widen. Before she could do anything, she was immediately thrown across and slammed into a tree.

 

Kagome suddenly got up and went after her bag. `I have to find it' she thought as she looked for the mirror. `This has to work.' She thought as she struggled looking before the other girl would waken.

 

“I will save you Kanna.” Kagome declared as she pulled the mirror out of the bag.

 

 

 

Author's note: I am honestly almost done. I don't want to do a rush job on it like my other story. I want it to all come together. Oh and please review!
