Chapter 28
The Forest--------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------
I will save you Kanna.” Kagome declared as she pulled the mirror out of the bag. She looked at it and realized from the lack of care, the mirror was cracked. She then looked over at Tsubaki. The women in question didn't stir from where she laid, and Kagome walked over to her cautiously. The young woman didn't understand it, but she knew by giving the mirror to the fallen woman would restore Kanna.
Right when Kagome was a mere foot from her destination, Tsubaki sat up immediately. Her eyes widened as she tried to keep from losing herself. She attempted to back away from the mirror, but she was paralyzed from the mystic object.
“No! Not here don't you realize what you are doing!” she screamed as the mirror started to glow. On the reflection of the cracked mirror was of Kanna, appearing to be sound asleep.
`Good, it still will work even though it's cracked.' Kagome thought as she moved closer to Tsubaki.
The dark miko's aura flared at the vain attempt to ward off the power, but then subsided. Tsubaki started to glow brightly as she returned to the form of a little girl. The mirror once cracked, returned whole as the imperfection dissipated. The reflection also changed, for it was that of Tsubaki. Instead of her sleeping, there was a smile on the reflection's face.
Kagome gave a sigh of relief, as she sat down beside the sleeping child. “Thank you for saving me.” A voice said from the mirror. Kagome jumped almost dropping the mirror.
“I…I.. Thought you hated me? I don't understand?” She began wondering why everything around her talks.
“I am sorry sister, I have been ill for sometime. I never hated you. You see I came to this horrid place, and it was this place, where Tsubaki, infected me. I tried so hard to fight her off, I wasn't strong enough however. You however purified me for that reason, thank you.” The reflection said.
“How did I do that? It was your father who gave me the mirror.” Kagome replied.
“My father was wise to give you the mirror; he knew that in your possession, it would remain pure. Your aura has a calming effect my sister. That is why the forest loves you, and why Tsubaki the dark priestess hated you. That is also why you were the only one who could have saved me.” The reflection said.
“Oh, I have one more question, why are you the one explaining this? You are after all Tsubaki right?” Kagome asked.
“You do ask a lot of questions don't you? No, I am not Tsubaki; I am Kanna at least what Kanna will look like once she matures. I must leave you now, for the child will be awake, she will not remember what had transpired for she was not herself. Oh and once she rises, the two of you must leave this forsaken land.” With that the reflection disappeared. And the little girl started to stir.
`Man, Kanna is going to be beautiful when she grows up.' Kagome thought as she helped the little one up.
“Are you ok Kanna?” Kagome asked softly. The little girl humbly nodded and raised her arms up as a sign to be picked up. Kagome smiled at the child and complied.
“We need to head back little one Ok?” Kagome said to the child as they began walking.
“What's the hurry Miko? You just got here.” A voice coming from the direction of the well.

In Japan in a motel:
“Hello? “
“Hey, it's me.”
“Naraku, what the hell are you doing calling me?” Shouted the voice from the other line.
“I need your help, someone is setting me up, and I need an alibi.” Naraku said.
“Aw poor baby, now who would ever do that to you? “
Enough, with your sarcasm, I am not in the mood for it. I need you to come over.” Naraku demanded.
No way, I am hearing things about you Naraku, and I do not like what I hear.” Said the voice from the other end.
“You may not like it, but you will help me unless you want to go down with me. Just remember, I have the tapes of you and Sango, and I have many eye witnesses who saw you taking hits. Don't fuck with me, I am asking you to help me. Or perhaps I have to tell you to help me Yura?”
“Fine, you bastard, I guess you leave me no choice. How is Sango by the way?” Yura asked hoping she would be able to see the woman again.
Naraku ignored the question and said.” Meet me at this hotel in an hour.” With that he hung up on her. “Stupid bitch.” He bitterly thought as started dialing another phone number.
Governor Yura Hoshino hung up the phone and looked at the two police officers.
“Now what?” the Yura asked them.
“Governor Hoshino, we promise that you will be protected from any scandals that Naraku Arachna claims.” Lt. Kohaku Blair stated
“Please spare me the foolish talk. That what lawyers are for, I mean what do you want me to do next? I'll go anything to bring down that fool” Yura asked eager to help.
“We will wire you of course; we will also be asking you for the names of some of his other colleagues.” Kilala asked.
“Oh sure no problem.” Yura said as she started to grab her rolodex.
“I do have a question though, why are you so helpful to us? “ Kohaku asked.
“Because, I always hated him, what he did to his wife, what he did to his enemies what he did to his own wife's family. He is sick... He always had power that I never understood. And all we were to him were pawns in his game. I am glad that I can help. Even if it cost me my life, just knowing he lost will be fine by me.” Yura replied.
“Ok, here is what we need.” Lt. Blair started as the three started plotting.
