Chapter Thirty:

In the Forest:--------------------

The rain hit the forest hard, as if it was in mourning. The winds encompassed the area in mass confusion as if something was wrong.

`Can't breathe…..What is wrong with me …' a man agonized, leaning his body against a tree. He watched the four leave him in such fear, he waited though, and he wanted them to get away from him. `Me…Their afraid of me..' he gasped trying to gain control. His eyes turned from red to yellow.

Then, all he saw was red. With his vision blurred he depended on his other senses. His ears twitched to make out any sound. A heart beat was heard loud and clear. He didn't realize it was his own though.

Desire and blood lust engulfed him. He smiled for his thoughts were only on one person. That said person was running from him. She thought because she was not alone that she would be safe. She thought wrong. He would kill anything in his way. She was his. He could tell not only by scent, but by her aura. He knew that she was his.

Excitement made the heart beat sound louder almost thunderous as he went to pursue his prize.

------------------------------

Kagome didn't even know how she was going to get away from Inuyasha. All she knew was that they needed to get away from him. Like Kanna and everything that comes to this place becomes cursed, she knew that her beloved became so. The two companions were along side her when she had an idea.

She knew that she was slowing them down, but the little girl in her arms was hindering her flight. Even without the child, it was a matter of mere moments before Inuyasha would catch up to them.

“Here, please take her. And take her anywhere safe ok?” she said as she put the little girl on the back of Tama. The Dog grunted and sped off, the location unknown to Kagome.

Kanna, being used to the creatures of the forest squealed in delight and latched on. `Oh great now she thinks this is a game.' Kagome thought as she avoided hitting another tree. She then noticed that the forest grew dense. Kiba seemed to be taking her somewhere and she didn't oppose. She noticed that he suddenly stopped. She however didn't.

She stumbled and found herself rolling down a muddy ravine. Gasping for air, she laid trying to calm herself. “Ouch! God that hurt. Why me!” She said sitting up and looking around, wiping the mud off of her face. She scanned the area and she noticed that she fell upon a tomb of some sort.

Because of the rain, the area became muddy, but she could see a defined mound of some sort with writing on it. She squinted, looking closely at the writing as if she could read it. She found that she couldn't read the inscription but she knew that this place was of great importance. It also looked like some of the words were scratched off due to aging. But the words of the stone said:

Angker -----
Syar Pedang

After looking at the stone she decided to try to stand up. She looked up at the top of the ravine to find the Dog sitting on his hind legs looking back at her. It was almost like he wanted her to find this place.

“The inscription says 'This is a Holy place', this is where the Sword of Greatness lies.” Said a voice from above. From the other side of the ravine was Kikyou looking down at Kagome. `She has such sadness in her eyes.' Kagome thought.

“What happened to Inuyasha, how can I help him?” Kagome asked the other woman. Kikyou sighed and pointed to the stone.

“Go to the stone, put both hands face down on the stone, and pray. You must hurry, he is coming. Kiba, Come with me.” Kikyou called the beast to her, and within moments they were both gone.

“Thanks for the explanation.” Kagome replied sarcastically and she bent down to the stone. Once she put her hands on the stone, she suddenly felt warmth and comfort by the feeling. She closed her eyes to pray when she appeared to have a vision.

-Vision-

She was kneeling on the ground, her hands on the stone when she saw people around her fighting. She heard yelling and screaming around her, but she felt the need to stay put. She could tell that this was something that took place in the past for the area was a large flat plain. No trees were in sight.

The people looked like the people in the village. She couldn't tell any differences from them. There was Inuyasha before her fighting the men, but unlike them he wasn't trying to kill them.

“What is wrong with you people? You are brothers and sisters! Why are you killing each other?” He asked them pleading with them all the while defending himself.

“Inuyasha! Quick throw me your sword.” A voice called from the other side. It was Kikyou, she too was using her powers to fight against this battle.

Without any questions Inuyasha threw his sword across the field. It landed on the ground sticking straight up. Kikyou prayed and shot an arrow across the field. A giant glow permeated the battlefield and soon the fighting stopped.

The people before them looked dazed at first, but then started talking to each other in great confusion. It was then when the curse was lifted from the people.

Confused Inuyasha walked up to Kikyou and asked. “What happened? What did you do?”

“With the help of your demon blade, I purified everyone, and they are now better. You sword was created to protect humans, so now it is by giving peace to the land. Your land.” She replied to him smiling at him.

“But where is it?” He asked looking for the sword.

“Don't worry, when you need it again, you will have it returned.” With that Kikyou turned and walked away from him.

“Why? Don't you know I need that sword! I need it on me at all times!” he demanded getting quite irritated with the woman.

“It will be given back to you. By the very one who loves you.” She said as she continued walking away.

“Love? What the hell are you talking about woman?” He shouted knowing that she heard him.

“How could any one love me, the one who is meant to be alone?” He sadly thought.

-End of Vision-

Kagome's eyes opened wide at the vision she saw. She found herself standing, holding an old rusty sword. “So this is the Sword of greatness? So he used his sword to protect the people from being infected. He sacrificed his sword for them.”

Her face softened at the thought of him helping people. She then frowned when she realized something else.

“Wait a minute. Am I supposed to fight him with this sword?”
