Inuyasha gently grabbed Kagura by the upper arm, leading her after his brother. “You're obviously well educated.” He said, continuing with their discussion. “I believe you're just what we've been looking for.” They stepped off the blanks and onto colonial soil.

As soon as Kagura's feet touched the cold ground of the hamlet the land spun out from under her. Swaying she pulled away from Inuyasha, clutching a hand to her abdomen in agony, the world tilting to one side than the other as though the waves lapping against the docks had the power to push the land about. She longed for the safety of the ship, for warm wood beneath her feet. At least she new what pain awaited her on the Enterlande. Here she was as awkward and uncertain as a small child.

Her surroundings spun away again, a new wave of nausea erupted through her. She doubled over, but before she could fall to the ground the other man, her new master, was there. Roughly grabbing her harm he pulled her up, charging forward at a brisk walk. Kagura stumbled, trying to register what was happening.

“We have much to accomplish today girl.” his voice drifted through the swirling colors. “We simply cannot stand around waiting for you to regain your land legs.”

Inuyasha threw him a steely glance but followed at a matching pace, certain his brother would not push the bondswoman too far. She was struggling, plain enough to see, loosing and regaining her footing in an instant, forcing herself to keep up the pace Sesshoumaru was so adamantly setting.

In a few moments they had left the docks behind, striding towards the carriage that would take them home. Sesshoumaru wasn't ignorant of the openmouthed gawking, men and women stood outside shops and townhouses, unable to ignore the glimpses of pale flesh of a forearm of ankle the tattered dress revealed to them. Haughty women sneered behind their fans, young men blushed. A gentleman bustled across the street flustered. They passed the only tavern in the hamlet, some drunks outside hooted but were quickly silenced by Sesshoumaru's brief withering glance.

He herded Kagura like cattle up the steps and into the carriage, settling her down on the plush cushions. She had not enjoyed such comfortable seats since the ride to London 3 months ago. She looked dazedly back at Inuyasha who stood behind the older man. He raised an amused brow and the left corner of his mouth twitched, as though he longed to smile, his eyes sparkling with dangerous humor. But his gaze focused, not on her, but on the man stepping down from the carriage.

As Sesshoumaru turned to face his brother the amused expression was gone, replaced in an instant with indifference, a look bored sophistication dulled his laughing golden eyes to a dark hazel. Kagura guessed that he had practiced that look with fervor, for not a hint of his earlier mirth cloaked him. Swinging onto a hansom mare Sesshoumaru nudged her into motion.

Sighing Inuyasha looked back at her, amusement glowing in his golden eyes one more. The left corner of his mouth tugged up into a half smile as he shut the door. She gazed around the dark interior, wondering why both men had not entered. There couldn't have been two horses for them; then they wouldn't have need of the carriage. The slight tilt in the carriage, a shift of weight, confirmed her theory. Inuyasha had obviously climbed up with the driver.

A half hearted sigh escaped her lips. She must truly look retched for such wealth to prefer being out in the cold than in the warm comfort of a carriage. Leaning hear head against the back cushion she stared up at the dark roof. Wondering just what future awaited her here in the colonies.
