Chapter 3

Enter Raven the Mutt

Kaede has been unconscious for days and Kako was back to normal but not with the rest of the group. Kiete's parents were stunned to see Kako carrying Kiete to their house.

"What happened Kako?" her stepmother asked.

"Don't worry I didn't kill her." Kako said.

"You did this?!" her step dad said in complete shock.

"Yeah well she was trying to kill me and my friends. I had to protect my friends and myself. And she ant dead. She'll wake up in an hour or two." Kako said and left, three days ago. She hasn't gone back to Kaede's yet and they're getting worried.

"Where is she?" Monoko asked.

"I don't know." Inuyasha said.

"She's just disappeared." Yaiko said.

"Sesshomaru what do you think?" Kagome asked.

"Well she is either hiding from us or she's still acting with her demon blood." He said.

"She's going to get her self killed." Kouga said worried as he starred at the forest hopping she would come out.

"Probably. If we don't go find her." Sesshomaru said.

"I can't go back now. I don't think I can control myself a second time." Kako said to herself.

"Who's in there." A voice said. Kako jumped up but said nothing. She had taken refuge in a cave near her stepparent's village. She knew it wouldn't be a pretty sight for a villager to spot her. Then a person walked in and Kako got ready to fight but stopped.

<Demon?!> Kako thought puzzled as she sniffed the air.

"Who are you?" the guy said.

"I believe that's my question." Kako said.

"I'm Raven." He said.

"I'm Kako…" she said and got out of her fighting stance.

"Pardon me but what exactly are you?" Kako asked.

"Oh I'm part wolf/ dog/ and half Human. You?" Raven said.

"Half Human/half Wolf Demon." Kako said.

"Half breed, hum…" Raven said.

"Well you're not a full Demon either so shut up!" Kako yelled getting very annoyed. She hated being called a 'Half Bread.'

"Sorry I didn't mean to make you mad." Raven apologized.

"No I'm sorry. It's just I hate being called a 'half bread!' I used to live in that village as a child. They always called me that." Kako said.

"So now you live up here. Why?" Raven asked.

"I don't technically live here any more. Just visiting I guess…Sh…" Kako said.

"Inuyasha are you sure she is around here?" Kagome asked.

"Damn…" Kako whispered, and ran out of the cave. Raven followed her. She spotted Kouga first then Monoko and Sesshomaru next. Kako ran off to the forest.

"Kako stop right there!" Monoko yelled and ran after her. Kako stopped and turned around then drew her sward.

"Stay away from me all of you!" Kako yelled at them and backed away. She backed up several feet then backed into Raven who grabbed her.

"What are you doing let go!" Kako yelled and tried to get out of his grip but couldn't. Raven then knocked her unconscious. She dropped her sward then fell face first into the snow.

"What did you knock her out for." Kouga yelled as he ran up towards Kako.

"Well she would have gotten away from me before you got here if I hadn't." Raven said. And bent down to pick up Kako's sward.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you!" Monoko warned.

"Why?" Raven asked picking up her sward. "Ahhh…" Raven yelled as Kako's sward shocked him.

"That's why!" Monoko said laughing at him.

"It's not funny. Why didn't you warn me?" Raven said.

"She did. Idjit." Sesshomaru said.

"Who asked you!" Raven yelled at Sesshomaru.

"No one but you got your answer. And stay right where you are Kako." Sesshomaru said.

"Damn. Here Sesshomaru you want to hold my sward!?" Kako said.

"No do you think I'm stupid." Sesshomaru yelled.

<Damn!!> Kako thought.

"Why can't you people leave me alone?" Kako asked.

"We're your friends." Monoko said.

"And your point's what?" Kako asked.

"Friends stick together no matter what!" Monoko said.

"That's not been my experience." Kako said.

"It has been with us. Damn it! Work with me here." Monoko said.

"I don't want to." Kako said and stated laughing along with Monoko. Every one else was looking at them like; what the hell is so funny. The villagers heard the laughing they all came out and picked up every thing they thought they could use as a weapon when they spotted the demons. Kako jumped in front of the villagers.

"You just might want to go back home." Kako said and showed her fangs.

"As we agreed we will not harm your families. But you and your friend are fair game." Said and old woman who reminded Inuyasha of Kaede.

"Go home! These are not Fox demons you're dealing with and now you're against us instead of with us. (Kako & Monoko.)" Kako said still showing her fangs but now she was flexing her claws.

"Leave them alone." Kiete said as she walked to the front of the group.

"What do you want!" Kako said getting angry.

"Answers." Kiete said plainly.

"Answers to what?" Kako asked.

"Why didn't you kill me three days ago?" Kiete asked.

"I don't know. I just didn't." Kako said.

"Why did your eyes go golden and your ears disappear. They became like that wolf's over there." Kiete said and pointed over to Kouga.

"How do you know about that you were unconscious." Kako said stunned.

"Not the in tire time." Kiete said.

"I was angry I guess. I don't know." Kako said.

"OK! Why don't you want to go back with them?" Kiete asked.

"I don't know…" Kako said and looked at the ground.

"Yes you do." Kiete said.

"All right fine. I'm afraid to." Kako said and sat down on the ground.

"Why Kako?" Kouga asked.

"I'm afraid if I lose my temper again I won't be able to control it. OK!" Kako said. Monoko started walking up to Kako but was stopped by Sesshomaru. She looked up and he was shaking his head 'No!'

"Now my dreams have changed Kako." Kiete said.

"What? Oh let me guess you just want to kill me now." Kako said and laughed a little.

"No. You have shown me that demons are only evil if we make them be." Kiete said.

"What?!" Kako asked confused.

"If you were evil you would have killed me and that old woman. And you friends wouldn't have protected her." Kiete said and Kako got up and walked away. Kouga walked over to here.

"Kako are you all right?" Kouga asked.

"I'm fine!" Kako said.

"Are you sure. You know we can protect ourselves right." Kouga said.

"I know you guys can but…" Kako said.

"But what?" Kouga asked.

"Kagome!" Kako said.

"Oh Kako she has Inuyasha. He can protect her as well as himself. Then there is Sesshomaru." Kouga said.

"Yeah right! They were braking their damn necks to save you two last time." Kako said.

"Oh Kako…" Kouga said and roped his arms around her, "…we knew you wouldn't hurt me or Kagome. You're too much of a friend to kill one of us." Kouga said.

"Why don't I get a hug?" Monoko said to herself. Then some one grabbed her around the waist.

"You really want to be hugged! You'll get hugged." Sesshomaru said and hugged her then put his head on her shoulder.

"Aw… how cut!" Kako said and brought Kouga's attention to Monoko and Sesshomaru.

"Yeah. I can't believe he's doing that." Kouga said.

"Well he is." Kako said smiling. Kouga leaned down to kiss Kako.

"Wait…" Kako said and ran towards Monoko, "Hold on to that thought Kouga! Monoko, Inuyasha come here. This should piss that old bat off!" Kako said and walked over to Monoko and Sesshomaru.

"You're going to have to move Sesshomaru. Sorry." Kako said.

"Why?" Sesshomaru asked.

"These necklaces will attach to the closest people or person around. So move. Yaiko, Raven come here." Kako said and Yaiko and Raven ran over to her and Sesshomaru walked away. Kako said her little chant and the necklaces appeared around Raven's and Yaiko's necks. Yaiko pulled his off but Raven couldn't.

"Hey what's the deal?" Raven asked.

"Your part dog, Duh!" Kako said and cracked up laughing.

"Kako!" Monoko said.

"Pay backs a bitch isn't it. Sit boy!" Kako said.

"Ahhh…" Raven yelled. WHAM!!!

"That had to hurt…I love this…" Inuyasha said and started bouncing around.

"Inuyasha! Just remember I can put it back on any time I wish so don't piss Kagome or me off. I don't care about that old bat." Kako said.

"Why just me?" Inuyasha asked when he stopped bouncing.

"Those two haven't made me mad. You two on the other hand have and look where he's at." Kako said smiling and pointing at Raven.

"I'm ging to have that stupid necklace back on by night fall." Inuyasha said looking at the ground.

"Yeah you just might." Kako said smiling evilly at him.
