Inuyasha Forgets...Chapter Two

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Chapter Two Begins~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"So you're saying that Koyaki is cursing Inuyasha because his Father had intended to do it before he died." Kagome inquired.

"Exactly. The spell that hit Inuyasha was meant for Kagome. It would have made her forget Inuyasha completely. The spell wore off on Inuyasha because of his demon blood." Myoga answered her.

"Why wasn't I told of this before!"? Inuyasha yelled.

"It... Never came up," Myoga said.

"He will be back Inuyasha. You must keep your guard up and protect Kagome at all times." Keade said, "Stay close to Inuyasha, Kagome. He will protect you."

Inuyasha sighed heavily and laid back against the wall. He closed his eyes and thought. Kagome put her hands on her knees and sighed also. Myoga looked around and saw no one paying attention to him so he jumped up on Inuyasha and began to suck. His body grew large.

"Slap" Myoga fell to the floor. "I am sorry Inuyasha. I haven't had anything good for days."

"Whatever"

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*Three Days Later~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Inuyasha and Kagome sat under a large oak tree eating a lunch Kagome had prepared at her house. Inuyasha sat slurping Ramen Noodles as fast as he could and Kagome lay on her stomach chewing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The warm sun beat down on their backs.

"I guess that Koyaki guy gave up." Kagome said lazily.

"Slurp! Ya I "SLURP" guess," Inuyasha answered.

"It's so hot today...I think I'll go for a swim in the lake over there." Kagome said. "Would you like to come Inuyasha?"

"Maybe later."

Inuyasha laid down his empty Ramen Noodle bowl and laid back against the tree. Kagome wrapped the food and dishes up. She put them into her backpack and removed her swimsuit. "I'm going to change behind that rock over there so no peeking!"

Kagome walked behind the rock and began to change. Inuyasha closed his eyes and began to daydream.

"AHHHHHH" A loud yell pierced Inuyasha's ears and he opened his eyes. He looked towards the lake and saw Kagome swimming around in it. Maybe he had only thought he heard a scream. He closed his eyes again and fell asleep in the hot sun.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*His Dream~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"Inuyasha! HELP ME! Help!" Kagome screamed in panic. Inuyasha looked around but could not see Kagome. He was standing in the middle of and empty field and a light drizzle moistened the air around him.

"Kagome!" He yelled. He saw Kagome dart from the edge of the field. Inuyasha was pursuing her. How could this be he thought. I am standing right here.

The figure was him all right. Fierce red eyes and purple stripes across his face. The wind suddenly blew and he saw that his hair was black. He felt for his ears, but felt nothing.

In my demon form I am chasing Kagome, but here I stand. I am in my human form though. A horrible pain suddenly struck Inuyasha in the chest and he opened his eyes.

Cold sweat dripped off his nose. It had been only a dream, yet it had seemed so real. It has to mean something Inuyasha thought. He looked towards the lake but didn't see Kagome. There was only a red cloud of mist in the water near the center of the lake.

"Kagome," he yelled hopping to his feet. "Kagome!" No one answered. He darted towards the lake and jumped in. He swam at full speed towards the center of the lake. The smell of blood filled his nose. "No Kagome. Please answer me," He yelled.

He reached the center of the lake and the cloud of blood loomed before him. He swam closer. "Kagome no. No Kagome! don't be dead!"

"Shut up, you insignificant fool. The girl is with me. If you ever want to see her alive again then come to the shrine of the three Gods." A deep voice boomed. Suddenly a figure formed above the lake. It was a tall man with jet-black hair and an evil look in his eyes. He held the unconscious body of Kagome in his arms. He looked down at Inuyasha for a few minutes before he suddenly vanished.

Inuyasha didn't move. He sat there for a minute in deep despair before he swam for shore. He ran as fast as he could towards Keade's house. The sun began to set and the warmth of the afternoon slowly died away.
