Chapter 8

I hope everyone has been doing fine! Last chapter was really a nothing chapter. Sry I have not written in awhile. I have been pretty busy. I had better start typing the chapter! Thankyou for reviewing and if you haven't, plz do!

The blazing sun rose above the horizon. The heat of the day began to replace the cooler night air. No wind blew, not a cloud in the sky. Inuyasha slid open his eyelids. His throat was only a little moist from the water he had last night. He sat up and looked at his small bottle of water. Every inch of his body yearned for a drink, but he knew he must save it for the journey.

Shippau opened his eyes as well. He saw Inuyasha standing beside him. He opened his mouth, yawned aloud, stretched, and stood up. Without a word the two started walking.

---2 hours later---

"Inuyasha, I smell water."

"I just took a drink of water."

"No! It smells different."

Inuyasha looked ahead and sniffed. The smell of water flew through his nostrils. He looked at Shippau, smirked, and took off sprinting. Shippau stood stunned for a minute before taking off after Inuyasha.

Shippau soon caught up with Inuyasha and they ran side by side. They were closing in on a large lake. The dirt under their feet soon became sand and the air was becoming moist.

Shippau and Inuyasha soon lost sight of each other as they entered a large cloud of thick fog.

Inuyasha lost sent of Shippau and looked around. He was nowhere in sight. He had even lost Shippau's scent. A faint scream came from somewhere in the distance. Inuyasha turned his head and his eyes grew in surprise.

Kagome was running towards him. Once again, Inuyasha's demon form was chasing after her. He snarled and held out his claws. His bloodthirsty look sent a shiver down Inuyasha's spine.

Inuyasha felt for his ears, but there was none to feel. He was human. He ran towards Kagome and grabbed her. He held her to his chest and told her it was all right.

Inuyasha's demon form was closing in. Inuyasha moved Kagome aside and stood in front of her ready to attack.

The demon Inuyasha stopped in front of Inuyasha and smirked devilishly. He raised his sharp claws and brought them down on Inuyasha. Inuyasha winced and stepped back grasping his chest. Kagome was huddled in a heap behind him.

"Kagome," Inuyasha said in a hoarse voice, "you have to esca…"

Inuyasha fainted before he could finish as the demon Inu dug his claws into Inuyasha's chest. Inuyasha lay on the ground inches from death. "Ka…Kagome. Don't let him ge…get you."

"Inuyasha! Don't die. What will I do without you! I need you! Get up!" Kagome wept.

As Inuyasha fell unconscious he heard Kagome scream in pain.

"Inuyasha!" Shippau yelled. "Wake up! Hurry! We haven't much time!"

Inuyasha opened his eyes quickly. "Kagome!" He yelled. Shippau looked at him strangely and then began to explain.

"A horde of demons! I don't know what they are! They are coming this way!"

Inuyasha paid no attention to Shippau. His mind was only thinking of Kagome.

"Inuyasha! They're here!"

Inuyasha turned his head and saw a group of demons coming towards them. He drew tutsiega and stood still ready to launch himself at the demons.

There were hundreds of them. They weren't just bloodthirsty demons either. They were cat demons!

The demons stopped in front of Inuyasha and Shippau. A demon stepped forward. She the size of Kagome, with cat ears, and red make-up. Long black hair cascading down her back. The cat demon wore a long silk robe and a beaded necklace.

She stepped forward, apparently the leader. "I am Nikko. I am leader of the cat tribe." She held her head high with pride and looked at Inuyasha, "a dog demon. How nice."

"What do you want of us?" Shippau questioned her.

"I only seek your help. Our seer, says you have a lot of power. Our seer also says you will help with our Thiatin problem."

"Who is your seer," Inuyasha asked impatiently.

"The mighty Sita"

Inuyasha searched the cat demon's face at the name. "Take me to her cat."
