Inuyasha sat up. He was engulfed in a cloud of thick purple mist. No one was in sight. He stood up and looked around. He sniffed the air, but did not smell Shippau or Miroku. The scent that glided through his canine nose was Kagome's.

Inuyasha looked around. He couldn't see Kagome anywhere. The dark was seemingly pressing against his face. He looked up at the sky and saw a light coming towards him.

It whispered his name, "Inuyasha, Inuyasha, Inuyasha."

Inuyasha recognized the voice as Kagome's. "Kagome!!!"

The light came down before him. There was Koyaki and at his side, Kagome. Kagome stepped in front of Koyaki and tried to run into Inuyasha's arms. She was heaved back by an invisible chain Koyaki had created.

"Inuyasha! Help me!"

Inuyasha took out tutsiega and transformed it. Holding the massive sword over his head he ran at Koyaki. He used the sword as if it was part of him. He brought it down on Koyaki's invisible chain attempting to break it.

"Your puny sword can't bust it. Force cannot break my chain."

Inuyasha sat up. Sweat rolled off his face as if he had just ran thirty miles. The fiery ball of gases, which we call the sun, was rising up over feudal Japan. Inuyasha looked around confused at Shippau and Miroku's sleeping figures.

Where did all the mist go? Wasn't I awake just a second ago? Damn dreams!

Inuyasha stood up, his body silhouetted by the sun's morning light. "Miroku…Shippau…wake up!"

Miroku raised his head and focused is eyes on Inuyasha. Shippau turned on his side and snores were omitted from his mouth. "Shippau!!!"

"What?!" He jumped up and looked at Inuyasha. "Why are you so eager?"

"Inuyasha…did you have a dream about Kagome-sama?"

He looked at Miroku and turned away.

"Inuyasha, its important if you tell me. If you're having dreams about Kagome-sama it can mean four things."

"Oh ya? What four things monk?"

"One, you just dream. Two, Kagome-sama is in trouble. Three, you love and miss her. Four, both the second and third reasons."

"What!?" Inuyasha snorted, "I don't love Kagome!"

Shippau smiled, "No one said you did Inuyasha."

"Grrrrr…"

"Lets go."

Inuyasha walked, his head held high, towards the desert of illusions. Shippau and Miroku, not so eagerly followed him. As they walked the sun reached the middle of the sky and their shadows vanished.

The grass was disappearing. Little by little, as they walked, the foliage around them became a barren dry land. No water was in sight the sky showed no signs of rain. Inuyasha, Shippau, and Miroku panted as they waked.

"The dirt is beginning to be sand."

"We must be close Inuyasha."

"…"

I'm coming Kagome. I'll be there for you. I will save you from this damn spell chanter. He will pay dearly.

"Inuyasha…stop!"

"What is it?"

Miroku looked around, "I don't hear any noises."

"Hmm, I guess you're right."

"We must be cautious." Shippau said taking out a sword from the leather belt around his waist.
