Chapter 2

“HUH?!”

“Well, I wouldn't see your front unless you want me to and it's a lot easier to have someone else do it for you.”

After several moments of pondering, Kagome consented. Inuyasha slipped into the room quietly, knelt next to the tub behind Kagome and gently started to scrub.

“Whew!” Kagome exclaimed, “you need a bath more then I do. You stink!”

“I don't smell anything,” Inuyasha retorted.

“You wouldn't but I do,” she paused, “there's room for two in here, why don't you join me?”

“You really want me too?”

“Yeah, I really do,” she answered lightly.

Inuyasha turned his back towards Kagome, “okay, give me a minute.”

Inuyasha took off his clothes and slid slowly into the tub. Kagome leaned against him as he wrapped his arm around her.

They soaked in silence for several minutes then Kagome spoke up.

“This is nice,” she said.

“I know what you mean. I can talk to you about anything and I can do anything with your help. I feel stronger when I can protect you.”

Kagome nuzzled Inuyasha's chest, `and I thought I loved him before,' “I love your body.” She blinked twice then said, “did I just say that out loud?”

Inuyasha lifted her chin and smiled, “yes you did.”

“Oops.”

Inuyasha chuckled softly, “it's okay, Kagome.”

Kagome gazed into Inuyasha's soft hazel eyes, “I … Oh, Inuyasha.” Kagome nuzzled Inuyasha's chest again. Inuyasha softly stroked her cheek.

“Kagome, I … Oh, Kagome with you … I feel … like … I … can … be myself.”

“Inuyasha, I …”

“Kagome.” Inuyasha drew Kagome's face to his and gave her a soft, lingering kiss.”
