Chapter 13
The next morning, the pair awoke early for obvious reasons. They lay naked in each other's arms, not wanting their perfect night to end. But it had too. As Inuyasha climbed over an unhappy Kagome to get out of the bed, she grazed him teasingly.
“Don't,” he said, cutely.
She giggled, “we have a little while before my mom comes to get us. We could do it again.”
Inuyasha scowled and gave her a swift kiss, “not in the mood for a quickie.”
“Inuyasha,” Kagome pleaded sitting up, on her knees.
“No, if I have you again, I'm not going to want to stop. As much as I want you, Kagome, I don't think your mother will be happy if she came in and found me naked on top of you.”
Kagome grinned evilly, “who said you had to be on top?”
By this time, Inuyasha had his shorts on. He pounced on her, tickling her mercilessly. “Tease,” he called her when he finished and kissed her.
“Mmm, Inuyasha,” Kagome sighed, blissfully.
Inuyasha stood up, “get dressed. I'll be downstairs when you're done.”
Kagome groaned a final complaint that Inuyasha ignored and rolled out of bed as he left. While she dressed, she thought about the heaven that was last night. She wanted him. She wanted to make love to him again, she wanted to kiss him and never let him go. He made her so very happy. She couldn't believe how close they had become over the past week. How did he feel? What was he thinking about when they were apart? She had no regrets, she knew she was his and she knew he was hers, even if he didn't realize it yet. The way they were last night was very special. She loved him and he had loved her. She couldn't wait till she could tell him how she felt.
Downstairs, Inuyasha was trying on a new haori. At his request, Mrs. Higurashi had embroidered the sun symbol from his yukata on the back. He was nervous. As he held Kagome last night, he had made his decision. Now he was realizing that he needed to tell her. When would the right time present itself? How would he know? How would she take it? Well, he smiled, if last night and the past week were any indication, she would take it very well. He only hoped…if it were meant to be then it would happen.
There was a noise in the hall. He poked his head out the door of Kagome's mother's sewing room. It was Kagome, dressed in a yellow sundress.
“Hey, Beautiful,” he said.
“Hi, is that a new haori?” she asked coming into the room.
“Yep, I had your mother make it for me. Do you like it?”
“I love it! It looks lighter then your rat hair one.”
“It is, it feels good though.”
“You like it?”
“Yeah, they turned out great. Your mother does great work.”
“I'm glad you think so,” she smiled, “Inuyasha, I've been thinking.”
“Uh oh.”
“Where do we stand? After last night I mean?”
`Damn it, she's putting me on the spot.' “I'm not sure, I love being with you and I love being intimate with you, but it's a little new to me, Kagome.”
“It's new to me too, Inuyasha, but I still know what I want. I just want you to make sure you know what you want.”
“I think I do know what I want,” he said quietly.
Kagome was in shock. What did that mean?
“Let's go back Kagome. We can make it to the slayers village and back by nightfall if we go now. I'm sure Shippou would love to hear about the festival.”
Kagome looked at him sadly, “oh, okay.”
