The next morning Kagome walks through the forest. *I wonder if Inuyasha is still holding a grudge because I was mad at him...* She gets the feeling as if something is watching her. "Who's there?!" she shouts she looks around and notices she has never been in this part of the forest. She turns around looking in all directions confused. A demon jumps out of the trees and attacks her. This demon his razor sharp claws and scratches Kagome with one set of claws in the face. Then he starts swinging fiercely at her shredding her clothes and deeply sinking his claws into her delicate flesh.
"INUYASHA!" she screams when she finally gets the chance. Inuyasha hears her and runs into the forest and swings his fierce sword Tutesiaga and slices the demon in two. Kagome being very weak and barely alive falls to the ground unconsious. "KAGOME!" Inuyasha runs to her and lifts her up gentley holding her in his arms. *She isn't breathing* Inuyasha picks her up and takes her to Kieade to see if she can do anything.
"Can you-.." Inuyasha begins "Her wounds are very bad Inuyasha" Inuyasha turns away hurting painfully inside "NO!" he suddenly screams "Kagome can NOT die!" he says trembiling, his fists shaking with anger. "It's her fate Inuyasha.." Inuyasha turns to Kieade "what?!" he says "Do ye want to know WHY demons keep attacking Kagome? My sister wants her dead. She wants Kagome's soul for her own thats the only way she can stay alive. Once she has Kagome's soul she will be complete. She won't be living off people's souls anymore..she'll have one of her own.Ye can let Kagome die and then ye will be reunited with Kikyo or ye can save Kagome. And Kikyo will finally rest in peace. Think on this Inuyasha don't be foolish.." Kieade says as she is leaveing the hut.
*but..what can I possibly do to save Kagome's life...* Inuyasha slowly walks toward Kagome and he kneels down beside her. he looks at her. A crystal tear from his eye splashes onto Kagome's cheek.After a few seconds Kagome eyes flutter open. Inuyasha looks down at her and smiles a little "I-Inuyasha?" she says softly Inuyasha looks into her eyes. "Are you okay Kagome?" She smiles and nods yes. Inuyasha hugs her gentley "I'm glad your okay...I was so worried.." Kagome tries to get up but wimpers because she is still badly wounded. "You need to rest.." Inuyasha picks her up and gentley lays her on the cot. He turns to walk out when Kagome grabs his hand. "D-Don't leave me Inuyasha.." she says softly Inuyasha nods and sits down next to Kagome who is still laying. He runs is fingers through Kagome's raven hair gentley.*Kagome smells so wonderful.* he says in his mind. "Inuyasha promise me...you'll never leave my side.." Kagome says "I'm right here Kagome. I'll never leave you alone...I promise."
Inuyasha begins to think to himself * I won't let Kagome die..* "Kagome?" Inuyasha says softly "Yes?" says Kagome " I know I don't come off as the nicest person or the politest or the most generous. But i WILL protect you. even if I die trying.." *no..inuyasha you can't protect me...you already told Kikyo you would protect her...* Kagome forces herself to smile but doesn't respond to Inuyasha.
