After finally completing the Shikon jewel, Kagome and the others went to Kaede for her opinion as to what they should do with it. On the way, Inuyasha decided to giver his own opinion on the matter. “Ya know, I could just use the jewel and become a full youkai. Then we wouldn't have to go all this way to talk to that old crone.” Kagome just sighed. “He still wants to become a full demon? After all we've been through together?” Miroku and Sango glanced at one another, both realizing how stupid his comment was. “Inuyasha, aren't you strong enough as a hanyou? I mean, we all like you just the way you are,” Sango said, hoping Inuyasha would get the hint. “Yes. And perhaps Kaede has a much better use for the jewel,” Miroku added. Kagome looked at the completed jewel in her hands. This was what had brought she and Inuyasha together. If she'd never broken the jewel in the first place, who knows where they'd be now. “Inuyasha?” “Yea? Whadda ya want?” “Do you remember when we first met? How you wanted to kill me just to get your hands on the jewel?” Inuyasha muttered something under his breath. “Well, back then, I thought you were an idiot who I could never get along with if my life depended on it. And now, even though you can be pretty stupid sometimes, there are times when I wonder how I ever lived without you. And, I'm still not sure quite how to say this, but… Inuyasha… I love you.” Miroku, Sango, and Shippo gasped. Inuyasha stopped walking and turned to face her. “Do you really mean that, Kagome?” Kagome nodded, now blushing immensely. Inuyasha stared at her for a few moments before speaking. “Kagome, I… I know that we, uh, don't always get along. And a lot of times Kikyo came between us. But, with her gone,” he said, taking Kagome's hands in his, “ I know now that I… I lo…” “Hey, Inuyasha!” a loud voice called, interrupting him. Inuyasha let go of Kagome's hands and turned to face whomever called him. Before him was a young girl, appearing to be the same age as Kagome. She had long, black hair and green eyes. Her outfit was completely black and very similar to Inuyasha's, only less baggy. She held some type of sword in a sheath at her waist. “Who are you? And how the hell do you know my name?” Inuyasha asked, hand on his Tetsuiga. “Oh, I'm sorry. I guess you don't recognize me in this form.” With that, the girl began to change. Her hair became a silvery white, almost identical to Inuyasha's, and dog-ears formed atop her head. Her eyes changed to lavender, as her outfit became white with streaks of red. As she spoke her fangs glinted in the sun. “Do you recognize me now, old friend?” Inuyasha took his hand away from the Tetsuiga. “It's you. Isha.”
