Isha smiled; glad to see she hadn't been forgotten. “Such a pleasure to see you again, my love.” Everyone but Inuyasha gasped. “Did she say,” Shippo started. “Her love,” Kagome finished. Snapped out of whatever trance he'd been in, Inuyasha said, “We're just… good friends. She was orphaned and lived with my family for a while.” Isha laughed and said, “For a while? I lived with you and Sesshomaru since I was merely a cub.” “We weren't all that close,” Inuyasha added. “Inu-kun, we were like brother and sister. You couldn't find any two people closer than us.” Noticing the sad look on Kagome's face, Miroku decided to change the subject. “Pardon me for asking this, Lady Isha, but may I inquire as to what that weapon at your waist is?” “This is my Tikasha, the sacred sword. It was created when I touched a shaft from one of Kikyo's sacred arrows. The blood, which had collected on my hands over time, fused with the magic within the arrow. Allow me to demonstrate its power.” Isha drew her sword and slashed in the direction of a nearby forest. Within a few seconds, not a single tree was left standing. “Impressive, is it not?” Isha remarked, returning her sword to its sheath. Kagome now spoke, “Isha, can I ask, why are you in the first place?” Isha face grew serious as she began speaking. “I come here because of a curse that was placed on me at the time of my birth. An evil priestess cast a spell on me, which, on the night of the full moon, causes me to change into my youkai state. This was how my parents died. I transformed one night and slew them where they slept. On most occasions I am able to control it. But, recently, it has become more difficult to handle.” “So, did you come here so Inuyasha could help you?” Shippo asked. “I suppose you could say that. You see, my curse can be ended. But…” Inuyasha stepped close to Isha and looked deeply into her eyes. “Whatever it is, Isha, I'll help you.” Isha, looking somewhat embarrassed, then said, “Well, uh, to break my curse, I must, uh, mate.” Miroku rushed quickly to Isha's side. “What a coincidence. Although Naraku's curse on me is gone, I am still looking for a woman to bear my children. Do you think you-” Before he could finish, Sango smacked him in the back of his head with her Hirakotsu. Isha laughed and said, “Thank you for the offer, kind monk, but, actually, mating with a human or a full youkai will not end my curse.” “Then, who's left?” Kagome asked, although she already guessed what it was. “I must mate with a hanyou.” Shippo, at this moment decided to chime in. “See, Inuyasha, you really are useful for something in your half-demon form.”
