Chapter 1
Inuyasha sighed as he looked over the paper work one more time. They had just gotten approval to merge the two clinics together and from the looks of it, it wasn’t going to be an easy process. The last thing he wanted to do right now was paperwork; he wanted to be with Kagome and Shippo.
Shippo was still in the hospital, but making a quick recovery and Inuyasha estimated that he would be ready to be released in the next week. That may have been too soon for a human who just came out of brain surgery, but for a youkai it was nothing. Actually he could probably be released sooner, but Inuyasha wasn’t taking any chances, not when it came to Shippo.
He straightened up the stack of papers he had been working on and set it off to the side of desk. One of the perks of his new position was that he got his own office. Although it was small, just big enough to hold two filing cabinets a desk and a few chairs, it was his, it had his name on the door and everything. He planed to spend an hour or so the next day setting it up since he had just moved in earlier that day and had had a million things that had to be done. So, currently the only decoration was the picture of Kagome and Shippo that she had given him and a picture of his niece, Rin.
He was just about to get up from his desk when someone knocked on the door. He looked up to see Kagome’s smiling face.
“So I see you’re moving up in the world.”
He smirked at her, “yup, got my own window ‘n everything.” He moved over to show her the single window behind his desk.
Kagome laughed, “well maybe we should get you a plant then, you know to keep your window company.”
Inuyasha laughed, “what’s up?”
“Well since Sango and Miroku are here to sit with Shippo I thought that I could treat you to that dinner I promised.”
“Really? You had time to cook?”
“No, but I seem to remember you taking me out to eat at Macaroni Grill and me promising that I would take you out sometime.”
“So, your treat?”
“Yup, my treat.”
“So where are we going?” He asked as he got up and took his lab coat off.
“It’s a surprise, but I promise you’ll love it.”
“And what if I don’t?”
“Well then, I guess I’ll have to make it up to you.”
Inuyasha wiggled his eyebrows, “well babe I thought I’d be getting to makeout with you either way.”
Kagome just laughed, “we’ll see. Just get your stuff and we’ll go tell Shippo we’re leaving.”

Miroku sighed, when Sango said she wanted to spend the day with him he didn’t think she meant at the hospital. It was her only day off this week and he had some other ideas of how to spend it.
The only consolation he had was that because he and Sango were with Shippo Inuyasha got some alone time with Kagome. His best friend really needed to give up his v card, and since Miroku is a good friend he was trying not to be too bitter about it.
He looked up from his seat next to Shippo’s bed to see his precious angel playing action figures with the kit. He smiled at her easy grace, she would make a wonderful mother.
Sango chose that moment to look up at Miroku, “I think I’m going to run to the little girls room, watch Shippo for me.”
Miroku nodded, “so little youkai what do you wanna do?”
“Well Sango and I were playing cops and robbers with my action figures since I’m not supposed to get up but I really wanna play TV interview.”
“Okay, well how do you play TV interview?”
“Well you take one of these action figures,” Shippo handed Miroku one that looked like a mini G.I. Joe, “and then I take my action figure and ask yours questions like on a TV interview.”
“Okay, sounds easy enough just tell me when you want to start.”
“Okay, lets start now,” Shippo picked up his action figure, a larger version of Miroku’s doll that was wearing a gray outfit. “Okay, Mr. Monk how are you this fine afternoon?” Shippo asked in a deep voice.
Miroku held his doll up to look like it was talking to Shippo’s. “I’m doing well it’s a pleasure to be here on this fine day,” Miroku replied in a distorted voice.
“Well then lets get right into it, I’m going to ask you some questions and I want you to answer them to the best of your ability.”
“Okay ask away little youkai.”
“What do you do?”
“I am a supreme fighting machine,” both Miroku and Shippo laughed a little.
“What do you do in your free time?”
“I fight evil ALL the time,” Miroku stood up and flexed his muscles a little to make his point.
“Where do babies come from?” Shippo asked, still in character.
Miroku got quiet, sat down and nearly choked, “what?”
“Where do babies come from?” Shippo repeated, again in character.
Miroku got a lecherous grin on his face, “well you see when a man and a woman like…”
Miroku was cut off by Sango walking into the room. She gave him a dangerous look, “you weren’t doing what I think you were, were you?”
Miroku took up a defensive position, “of course not dearest.”
Sango snorted, “you do realize that it is Kagome and possibly Inuyasha’s responsibility to tell him that.”
“Of course I do, I wasn’t going to say that to him.”
Sango looked over to Shippo, “what was the lecher going to tell you Shippo?”
Shippo looked down to Miroku and saw his pleading eyes, although he didn’t understand them and then looked back up to Sango, “we were just playing TV interview and his man was gonna answer a question.”
“What kinda question Shippo?”
“Where babies come from?” Shippo said shyly, looking back and forth between Miroku and Sango.
Sango walked over to Miroku and slapped him. Miroku fell out of the chair and hit the floor. “Shippo, you need to ask your mom about that or even Inuyasha, but do not under any circumstance ask him,” she said pointing to the unconscious doctor.
“But I don’t want them to know.”
Sango calmed down a little and looked Shippo over, “don’t want who to know what?”
“I don’t want my mom or Inuyasha to know that I wanna know where babies come from,” Shippo said near tears. Sango stepped over Miroku and sat down in the chair next to Shippo.
“Shippo why don’t you want them to know?”
“Because.”
“Because why?”
“Because I thought that maybe if mommy and Inuyasha have a baby together he won’t leave.”
“Leave?” Sango asked cautiously, she wanted to get as much information as possible before she tried to say anything else.
“Yeah, like Kouga. He left because he wanted a baby of his own, not me. I thought that if I could find out where babies come from I could make sure Mommy and Inuyasha have one so then he won’t leave when I annoy him too much.”
“Shippo, maybe you should talk to your Mom and Inuyasha about this before you go and do something like, make them have a baby.” Sango said, trying her hardest not to laugh.
“Do you think they’ll listen to me?”
“I know they will.”
“Okay then I’ll talk to them, but if they don’t listen to me I want them to have a baby.”
Sango laughed.

“Come on Kagome, tell me where we’re going!” Inuyasha yelled as they sped down the street. Kagome had insisted that he let her drive, so she didn’t have to tell him where to go. It was either let her drive or take the bus. Thinking that letting her drive would be faster he had handed over his car keys. Now he realized what a mistake that had been. She drove like a mad woman. They were currently doing 65 in a 35 and she was dodging cars like crazy.
Kagome slowed down as she approached a red light and looked over to her boyfriend. Inuyasha was holding the handle above his seat, his eyes were closed and he looked like he was holding his breath. She reached over and smacked his side.
Inuyasha jumped and looked around, “are we still alive?”
“Yes we’re still alive, although you won’t be if you keep holding your breath like that.”
“Yeah well neither one of us will be if you keep driving like that.”
“Oh please I’m an excellent driver.”
“No your not.”
“Oh yeah, well Shippo loves my driving!”
“Because he’s too young to know any better. If I were five I’d probably like it too.”
Kagome gave him a dirty look and noticed that the light had just turned green and sped off, “if you think it was bad before, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
Inuyasha gulped, and grabbed the handle above his seat again. He then began reciting a prayer.

Inuyasha didn’t realize that the car had stopped until Kagome opened the door and he nearly fell out onto the concrete.
“Oh come on you baby,” Kagome yelled as she grabbed his hand pulled him out of the car.
Inuyasha stood up straight and looked down into her eyes, “who you callin a baby?” He asked, growling.
Kagome stood her ground, looked up into his eyes and said, “you.”
Inuyasha growled even louder, but was cut off as Kagome grabbed his arm and pulled him to a hot dog stand. He looked back over to see that someone had closed the car door,
although he didn’t remember when.
Kagome looked back to him, “you’re acting like such a child, I swear, Shippo acts better than you.”
Inuyasha pulled his arm back, causing Kagome to stop and turn to him. “I am not a baby Kagome.”
She started laughing and Inuyasha sweat dropped.
“What’s so funny?”
“You.”
“What about me?” Inuyasha growled.
“Your just so cute. Look can we have this fight later the place is getting ready to close.”
“I guess,” he gritted out.
Kagome pulled him up to the hot dog stand and pulled her wallet out from her purse. The couple in front of them got their food and Kagome walked up. “Hey Sal I’ll have two chili dogs with extra cheese.” She turned to Inuyasha expectantly.
“What, you think you’ll eat both of those?”
“Yea, I do it every time I come here.”
Inuyasha sighed, “I’ll have the same.”
Kagome paid for their food and handed it to Inuyasha. She then dragged him over to a bench to sit down.
Inuyasha handed her two of the huge chili dogs. Kagome accepted them with a smile.
“So this is your big treat huh?”
“Yup, got a problem with it?”
“No, its just not what I was expecting.”
“So I was right and you like it?”
Inuyasha turned and looked her in the eyes, “of course I like it, and I like you.” He leaned down and kissed her.
They sat making out for a few minutes before breaking away from one another and eating their chili dogs.
Inuyasha looked up after eating his first chili dog and said, “Kagome, no matter how much I like you, you aren’t driving us back to the hospital.”
Kagome looked up from her second chili dog. “What?”
“I’m not letting you drive anymore.”
“Who are you to say that?”
“Well since its my car, I’m guessing me.”
“You can’t tell me what to do, especially since I have the car keys,” she said holding up the
keys. Inuyasha made a grab for them and took them from her.
“Hey, no fair!”
Inuyasha shoved the rest of his chili dog in his mouth and took off running. Kagome followed suit and ran after him.
“Inuyasha you meanie slow down!”
Inuyasha turned around, after he had gotten to the car. He quickly unlocked the driver’s side door and got in. He pressed the lock all button and smirked when she ran into the door. He
started the car and rolled the window down.
“Hey babe, the passenger side is unlocked,” he said as he pressed the unlock button on his door for the passenger side door.
She huffed and walked around the car. She got into the passenger side and crossed her arms, “I’m going to get you back for this you know.”
He turned to her and smirked, “oh I know.”

Naraku looked over the paper in front of him. He’d have to destroy it later, but for now it held his plan to get Sesshomaru back.
He checked over it one more time, trying to think of anything that may hinder the plan. Finding nothing left to smooth out he called Kanna.
“Kanna, I want you to get Kagura and get over here. We need to go over phase one.”

Sesshomaru looked up at the stage, allowing a small smile to come to his face when his daughter, Rin looked at him from the stage.
Rin was six and had just started this dance class, and this was her first dance recital. She was human, her biological parents had died after a bridge collapsed and killed 70 people. Sesshomaru had seen it happen and watched the rescue crews save people. He had had little interest in the affair until he saw the little girl swimming towards the shore. He watched as she almost gave up. When she started to drift back into the water he went and got her. Something about her called to him, he had to save her. He had then taken her to the hospital and stayed with her until she was better. He was going to leave her there but once she woke up and started talking, he knew he couldn’t. He had to take care of her.
Once the recital was over he stood with the other parents and waited for Rin. He didn’t speak to anyone from the elite school; the other parents annoyed him. Rin came running down and stopped in front of him.
“Fluffly-sama did Rin do good?”
“Yes, Rin you did well.”
The little girl clapped her hands and smiled. Sesshomaru looked down to her. “Are you ready to go?”
“Yes I am ready to go Fluffly-Sama.”

Kagur a and Kanna followed Sesshomaru and Rin out to their car and watched as Sesshomaru put the little girl in the back seat. They quickly hid when he turned in their direction.
Kagura quickly called Naraku to let him know their location. They needed as much information as possible to make the plan work.
The girls followed Sesshomaru to his house and watched through a window as he put the little girl to bed. They were startled, however, when he appeared beside them and grabbed Kagura by the throat.
“What the hell have you been doing, following me all this time?” He clenched his hand around her throat and looked to Kanna for answers. She didn’t say anything.
“Answer me or I’ll kill your friend.” She remained quiet and he looked to Kagura.
“You smell of Naraku, what are you doing?”
Kagura fought against him, but was nothing for his brute strength. “We were paid.”
Sesshomaru’s grip loosed, but not enough to allow her movement. “Paid for what and by whom?”
“Naraku paid us to watch you and report for movements.”
“I should kill you both right now.”
Kanna started laughing and Sesshomaru turned to her.
“What’s so funny?”
“We mean nothing to him. It won‘t make a difference either you kill us or not; he‘s still going to come after you,” she looked up to the window to Rin’s room as she spoke.
Sesshomaru growled and dropped Kagura.
“Go away, both of you I don’t want to see, smell, or hear of you ever again or I’ll kill you both.”
Sesshomaru watched as Kagura held her throat and got up to run, and Kanna followed her.
He growled as he thought about the implications of what they said. If Naraku wanted a fight, he would get one.

Kagur a and Kanna followed Sesshomaru and Rin out to their car and watched as Sesshomaru put the little girl in the back seat. They quickly hid when he turned in their direction.
Kagura quickly called Naraku to let him know their location. They needed as much information as possible to make the plan work.
The girls followed Sesshomaru to his house and watched through a window as he put the little girl to bed. They were startled, however, when he appeared beside them and grabbed Kagura by the throat.
“What the hell have you been doing, following me all this time?” He clenched his hand around her throat and looked to Kanna for answers. She didn’t say anything.
“Answer me or I’ll kill your friend.” She remained quiet and he looked to Kagura.
“You smell of Naraku, what are you doing?”
Kagura fought against him, but was nothing for his brute strength. “We were paid.”
Sesshomaru’s grip loosed, but not enough to allow her movement. “Paid for what and by whom?”
“Naraku paid us to watch you and report for movements.”
“I should kill you both right now.”
Kanna started laughing and Sesshomaru turned to her.
“What’s so funny?”
“We mean nothing to him. It won‘t make a difference either you kill us or not; he‘s still going to come after you,” she looked up to the window to Rin’s room as she spoke.
Sesshomaru growled and dropped Kagura.
“Go away, both of you I don’t want to see, smell, or hear of you ever again or I’ll kill you both.”
Sesshomaru watched as Kagura held her throat and got up to run, and Kanna followed her.
He growled as he thought about the implications of what they said. If Naraku wanted a fight, he would get one.
