Chapter 17Up in the mountains

Thanks for the great reviews, if it weren't for you guys I don't think I'd update so fast, especially since I have tons of schoolwork. This however does not mean I'm giving up on this story, because I still have big

plans with it.Thanks again for the terryfic reviews.

Sesshoumaru was currently driving his black Porsche up

a lonely mountain road. Kagome was sitting beside him watching the passing scenery as she slowly began to relax

for the first time since they started prepairing for their trip.

After chasing Sesshoumaru for half a year, Kagome had given up and Sesshoumaru had started to explain to her that his house was up in the mountains and that they really needed to pack if they wanted to get there tonight.Kagome agreed and

she and Shippou packed , while Sesshoumaru got his clothes and his car.

They had left in no time, but Kagome hadn't relaxed for one instant as they were in town, in fear that her father might be around one of the passing corners.

Now she the tension which had started to built in her body,

slowly started to dissipate. She turned around and found Shippou sleeping deeply on the back seat.

I'll make it up to him. This is not what I had in mind when

I told him to come with me.Here nothing will happen to me and I will enjoy this as long as I can.

The place was beautiful. A house so majestic, it looked a lot more like a castle. It suits Sesshoumaru. Kagome thought.

The walls were a light white, and the most beautiful thing was the contrast they made with the brown wood which supported them.Large windows were seen along with a tall

wooden door, to which ten white steps led.The house was three story high.

On the sides the house was surrounded by beautiful tall trees, evergreens.

"Like it?"Sesshoumaru asked as he took the luggage out of the back of the car.

Kagome nodded and then looked at him with a smile on her

face. Sesshoumaru was instantly glad he took her to this place, even if she wouldn't get her problem solved on the long run, she would at least be happy.

"Who gets to take `sleepy kid` there ?" Sesshoumaru asked.

"I'll take him."Kagome offered.

"OK, by the way, we're the only ones up here. I'll have to work every morning for a little time but I'll be availible

after that."Sesshoumaru said.

Kagome turned around with a sleeping Shippou in her arms

and looked at him with puppy eyes. Sesshoumaru eyed her strangely , she wanted something.

"What?" he asked flatly.

Kagome's face instantly showed anger but then it took up the pleading features again.

"You're not going to work today are you?" she asked in a sweet tone.

Oh, that, wait, what does she want?

"No, I am not." he answered.

Kagome smiled at him again and carried Shippou into the house.

Wait, she can't just leave like this after interrogating me, can she?Sesshoumaru picked up their bags and took them inside as well.

When he entered he found Kagome staring at his living room. Here he had a right to say it was his, because the house

belonged to him, and so did the plans, the decoration, even the plants. Basically he he had wanted to built his own hous, the house he would one day live in,so he came up with

this .Kagome also seemed to like from what he could tell.

Kagome looked around herself and found the one house she had always wanted to live in as a child.

Glass doors making the way to the garden, a fireplace a lot like hers in the middle of the room, soft honey-coloured pillows spread upon a chocolate- brown couch, paintings

of legendary creatures on the walls, vases full of autumn

flowers...everything just as she wanted it to be.

Then she turned around and her eyes found somebody who made this picture complete. He was amused, she could tell.

His eyes glittered with this feeling, granting him an angelic

appearance.Sometimes , he could be cold and even uncaring,

but you could never say that this man who was standing there in front of her was one of these. He seemed to be an angel, exiled from heaven for his beauty, an angel, who now let his mild gaze linger on an empty mortal.

This angel would have eternity, while this vile creature which

dared to look upon such perfection, would have nothing.

Nothing at all. For someone to know his future he should

conquer his past. This shallow being though, hadn't.

And yet the angel didn't turn around or leave, he stood there but this time with much gentler eyes, eyes which told her he would not ever leave.

Kagome smiled at him, he didn't want her past , her future

but her present, and as long as he promised to stay, she would give him her present.

"I can see you like it." Sesshoumaru said.

"I love it." She looked at Shippou and saw him stirr.

"Hungry?" she asked them both sweetly.

"I'm starving, I think I just beat a bear."Shippou answered

and went along with Sesshoumaru to the kitchen.

"You beat a bear? You did not even carry any bags, so I suggest you do the washing up."Sesshoumaru told him.

Shippou pouted and turned around to Kagome who was following them .

"Kagome do I have to?" he asked with puppy-dog eyes.

Kagome ruffled his hair playfully and shook her head no.

"I will do that, `cause if I would let any of you do it we would probably be in the kitchen for five days. And I really

wanted to take a walk with you guys so I'll do it."

Shippou hugged her in sign of `thanks` and ran to the kitchen.

Sesshoumaru didn't turn around but only asked her: "Five days?"

Kagome giggled a little but then she ran after Shippou .

"Well it's true mr.dish-washer."she called over her shoulder.

Sesshoumaru only laughed and started to run as well, of course he knew this was not the way to the kitchen but...

"Hello Kagura, how is our plan going? That Higurashi girl is not interfering is she?"

"No, everything is going as planned , I would dare to say even better."Kagura responded.

"Good, something I need to know ?"

"Everything is as it should be.Shortly Sesshoumaru will have no other alternative than to abandon his firm."she said.

"Good." the male voice said before hanging up.

Kagura put the phone down and spoke aloud.

"This is what you get for not choosing me, you fool!"

Unfortunetly for her and her plans she didn't see a little girl

with brown-black hair pulled up in a ponytail listening to her.The girl instantly ran down the stairs onto the street and

called a cab.The driver took her luggage and she gave him the needed adress.

Nobody would destroy her brother, nobody.
