Disclaimer: nope, I don't own him.

Aiya… so sorry people. I have been asked so many times why I haven't updated in like a loooooooong time. I'm a bad writer T-T but we all do have a life outside of Inuyasha and reading fan fics right? Or am I wrong? O_O oh well, may be I should just shut up for a bit and continue writing my story. I do enjoy writing but sometimes I don't know what should happen in the story. What do you call it? Writer's block? Anyways…

ON WITH THE STORY!!!

Chapter 7
One false move lead to suspicion.

"People talking"
'People thinking'

<Conscience> (you know, that annoying voice in your head telling you right from wrong?)

"EHH??? What do you mean you invited everyone?" Inuyasha spat, if he found Kikyo at the party, what the hell was he suppose to do… Rin had a sweatdrop and lifted her hands up a bit to protect herself from the raging Inuyasha. School had barely started and he already has gone crazy. She, Sess, Sango and Miroku had found them entering the school when Rin told them about her party again. She sighed, sometimes she wonder how he and Sess was ever related…

"I told you countless times Yasha, it's just that you don't bother listening to me." Rin started, "My parents said a party wouldn't be a party if not enough people were invited. So I invited a lot of people." Inuyasha looked at Rin again, first, she had invited "Kouga" to the party, and that wasn't something he liked, but next, she goes and invites everyone from the school. `What the hell is wrong with her? She doesn't even know them.' Inuyasha blinked, if everyone was invited that might mean…

"Hey Rin…" Inuyasha started, Rin looked at Inuyasha, hearing the slight concern in his tone of voice made her frown a bit.

"What's up?"

"I was just wondering… when you meant everyone was invited, did you also say that-"

"Oh if you mean Kikyo, nah I didn't give her an invitation, but knowing her she'll probably find a way to get in." Kagome looked up from the bench, a bit confused from the talk between Inuyasha and Rin. "Um… why didn't you invite Kikyo to the party Rin?" There was a silence while everyone turned their heads to stare at Kagome. Then all heads turned to Inuyasha.

"What? What the hell are you staring at?" Inuyasha muttered, even though he knew why they were. Miroku leaned over to Inuyasha. "I'm guessing she still thinks you like Kikyo right?" he whispered in his ear. "Keh… what do you expect man? She doesn't listen and it's your fault for starting this whole thing up ass." Miroku sighed. "My bad, forgot about the whole Kikyo thing, so when are you going to tell her?" Inuyasha shrug, "I don't know, still figure it out sooner or later, not like she's going to listen to me anyways." They both to hear the bell ring and the gang made their way towards the school. Kagome, still deep in though followed along.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~

The school bell rang again as five tired teens stumbled out while one looked as normal as ever. When they reached outside, Miroku ran quickly and hugged the tree in front of the school. "FREEDOM AT LAST~!!!" He shouted out loud which made some people glace at their direction. The girls giggled a bit but stopped after the jolt of shoulder pain hit them. They had a ton of homework tonight and the girls moaned in annoyance. School really sucks…. Sesshoumaru was the only one who looked normal was not complaining about the huge amount of homework. When they realized his lack of complaints, everyone turned towards him and asked what's was wrong with him. He just smiled a bit and hanged everyone his bag. They quickly glanced in but were taken back by how insanely light it was.

"What the fuck? Why isn't there anything in your bag Sesshoumaru?" Inuyasha yelled. Sess just chuckled, and looked at the group. "What you see is someone who actually works during class and doesn't fool around at all, unlike some people right little brother?" Inu growled but turned away. Rin smiled. "Sesshy, since you finished your homework, mind helping me?" Sango and Kagome laughed. "You aren't going to learn anything if other people do the work for you Rin." Sango said. Rin pouted. "But I have a party to set up, puleaze~ Sesshy?" Rin whined while looking up to him with puppy eyes. Sess sighed and nodded which made a very happy and bouncy Rin. "Well, we batter get started right Sess? See you later people!" And with that, Rin and Sess left the group and headed towards Rin's mansion.

Sango and Kagome laughed a bit, Rin had already finished with the party set up, but who in their right minds would want to give away a good chance of not doing your homework? (People who likes doing them. *cough cough* I wonder who…) "well, I guess I better start on my homework too, don't want to miss Rin's party right?" Sango said. Kagome laughed, "Yea… I can see it now, Rin nagging us why we didn't show up." Sango waved goodbye and started walking towards her house with Miroku. As Miroku was walking with her, his head started twitching but Sango slapped his shoulder. Kagome laughed at the sight. When will he ever learn?

She turned back to Inuyasha who was looking at her. Kagome cocked her head to one side. "Something wrong Inuyasha?" She asked. He smiled slightly and brought his hand and placed it behind his head. "Uh… since it's just us two, do you mind if I walked you home?" Kagome smiled. "Walk me home? Are you feeling ok Inuyasha, you're being too nice." She joked. "Keh, I'm not always nice, so don't bother getting use to it. So is that a yes or a no?" Kagome opened her mouth to reply almost instantly, she didn't "really" have a "home" to go to. She was after all a…. Kagome froze, she could tell by how tense Inuyasha was, so she decided that it couldn't hurt to accept his offer. <Yea, so what are you going to do about the whole thing when Inuyasha figures out that you don't have a home?> `I'll think something out' Kagome thought, though her conscience still thought it was a bad idea. <Good luck then, I'll laugh if you fail.> `Oh wow thanks, such positive thoughts.' Kagome spat back. "Sure Inuyasha you can walk me home but…" "But what?" Inuyasha asked. "But… you can't walk me all the way because I live really, REALLY far away." <THAT'S YOUR PLAN???> `Hey, I only had like 5 seconds; cut me some slack will you?' Kagome paused for awhile, why was she talking back to it anyways?

"Doesn't matter how far it is, I'll walk you home." Kagome sighed, now what was she suppose to say? <Just tell him the goddamn truth if you "trust" him so much.> `Oh so are you saying I should say: Inuyasha, I'm a dead spirit who is trapped in your world, I'm the same little girl from your house that you visit every night, and I'm the stupid girl who fell in love with a guy that was a spy. I'm the greatest aren't I?' <Yes you are.> Kagome rolled her eyes, what she would do for a new conscience. <God… why don't you just go over to his place then?>

"Hey Inuyasha, can we go to your place? We can finish our homework together." Kagome said while looking at Inuyasha's reaction. "Why? My room is a mess and I live in a cottage with my aunt." Kagome smiled, "I know you do, but I like the river there, it's calming a bit even though it holds a very sad memory for me." Kagome frowned a bit, the memory of her past hitting her full force in her mind. However, Inuyasha was a bit confused. "How did you know I lived by a river? And… why does the river hold a sad memory for you?" Kagome froze. `Don't tell me I just said that. Don't fucking tell me I just said that.' <Well you did smarty pants, whatcha gonna do now?> `Oh thanks a lot conscience, you helped a lot.' "Well…" Kagome started, "when I was really young, I have been to the river before. And… so are we going to your place?" Inuyasha just nodded and started walking and Kagome let her breath out, she didn't realize she was holding her breath. Good thing Inuyasha didn't ask why she changed the subject so quickly. Kagome sighed, she ahs gotten herself in a tight situation and she better come up with a plan soon or else. Inuyasha stopped walking and turn to face Kagome. "Oi, Kagome, you coming or what?" Inuyasha questioned. Hearing his voice, Kagome snapped back into reality and ran to catch up with Inuyasha.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~

After talking a bit and a few minutes of silence, the two finally reached to Inuyasha's place. Instead of going into the house, they went around so they would end up at the river. Kagome dropped her bag and took a deep breath. Oh how she just loved the river. And yet she hated it too. Kagome took off her socks and shoes and walked towards the river until her feet come in contact with the cool flowing water. The breeze blowing slightly, flinging her hair to the side, Kagome smiled happily, it was such a nice day today. Inuyasha stood there watching Kagome walk towards the river. When she stood there with the wind playing with her hair, something struck him. This seems strangely familiar, like he has soon someone doing that before. As Inuyasha continue gazing at Kagome, an image of the ghost girl stood beside Kagome. Both standing in the same position with the hair flowing from the breeze. Then they both suddenly turned to face him and gave him a heart-melting smile. Inuyasha though his inside was turning into mush when the 2 girls smiled at him. Inuyasha started walking towards them when he realized something. Strangely, the ghost girl and Kagome looked… similar. Their smiles were the same and they stood the same.

As Inuyasha started to compare the little girl with Kagome, he failed to notice Kagome walking up to him and waving her hand in front of his face. After a few moments of failure, Kagome took a deep breath and shouted a HELLO. Of course, Inuyasha was surprised and stumbled a bit causing him to trip and fall. Too bad he brought Kagome down with him during the process. Kagome let out a shriek as Inuyasha's heavy weighted landed on top of her, it felt as if all the air in her lungs had been pushed out. Kagome scowled at Inuyasha and tried to push him over a bit so she can once again feel the air in her lungs. But however Inuyasha didn't move. Kagome looked at him and was lost in his amber orbs, they were swirled with many emotions and she felt her heart beat quicken. Something told her to leave right away or she was going to have to face some trouble. But Kagome didn't dare move as Inuyasha lower down his head. She could feel his hot breath on her lips and shivered a bit. She gulped as she continue to stare in his amber eyes. Inuyasha brushed his lips against Kagome's before crashing down. It was a simple kiss but nothingless a kiss. It ended as soon as it started and Kagome eyes' got wide. She never thought Inuyasha would do something like that to her. Inuyasha got up and gave Kagome a hand to lift her up which she gladly accepted. There was a few moments of silence and both teens stared off somewhere else except each other. After what seems like 10 minutes, Kagome cleared her throat. "Uh.. A-are we still going to do our homework?" She asked weakly while blushing madly. She turned away to avoid Inuyasha's gaze but she knew he must be smirking at her shyness. "What did you say? I didn't quite hear you." Inuyasha said, trying to keep his laughter in. Kagome sighed. `What's a girl suppose to do at a time like this?' she wondered. She took a deep breath and turned to face him. "So are we still up for the homework thing?"

~ * ~ * ~ * ~

As Kagome left Inuyasha's place, she recalled what had happened not too long ago, even as she was thinking about it, her face instantly heated up. She shook her head and started walking away from the cottage. `It's not like he likes me or anything' she though was she disappeared from sight.

Inuyasha blinked, did he see what he just saw? Kagome disappearing out of thin air. He had planned to walk her home since it was getting late and it wasn't such a great idea for a girl like her to be walking. But as soon he had stepped out of the door and opened her mouth to call her, she vanished. And normal people don't just do that. Unless Kagome was a spirit… like that ghost girl. It made sense now, the pendant, when they arrived, the story in class, the vanishing, it all makes sense now.

"Kagome is the ghost girl…"

But there is one more thing he should try before he can be sure that Kagome is the undead spirit girl. He looked at his clock which read 8:30. He sighed and flopped down onto his bed. With most of homework done and tomorrow being the weekend, he had nothing to worry about. "Tonight, I'm going to find out the relationship between Kagome and the ghost girl."
