Chapter 19

Confusion, lies, traps.

The bright sun was shining as everyone woke up to get ready for school. It was a nice day… not.

Kagome sighed as she walked down the sidewalk. Kouga for some unknown reason haven't been seen today. She usually meets him at the park at the bench. If she had waited any longer, she would have been late for school. Her gaze traveled down and stared at the sidewalk as she took steps. As days went by, Kagome started feeling sick, she had no idea why though, she just didn't feel well.

`I'm a ghost, am I suppose to feel this way?' Kagome thought as she continued walking. She bumped something and when she looked up, she found herself right at Inuyasha's place. "Why am I here?" Kagome thought as she turned to walk towards school. `Guess I'm not watching where I'm going.' Kagome thought. Just then the door opened and Kagome heard. She rushed to hide as quickly as she could only to find a bush nearby. Hiding behind there, she saw Inuyasha running out of the house and his aunt at the door waving to him. Kagome sighed again… she missed both of them.

When the door closed and Inuyasha wasn't in sight Kagome took a deep breath that she was holding and started to walk to school.

"Boy… that was close." Kagome thought. "He almost saw me." She smiled proudly that she was able to hide quickly enough so she wasn't caught until reality hit her…

why didn't she just turn into a ghost?

Kagome could have smacked herself for that. Instead of panicking and running to hide, all she could have done was turn invisible. "Wow… I'm so smart…" She muttered to herself as she started to walk faster to get to school on time.

It was dark… and cold…. Where was she? Heavy eyes started to open to look around. She was greeted by a blinding light and she instantly closed her eyes. The light burned. The light hurt her eyes. Where was she??? She tried to use her hand to cover the light but she had trouble moving them. She rolled her face away from the light and opened her eyes slowly. Little by little she got use to the bright room. Scanning the room she could se she was alone. Alone as she was, she still had no clue where she was. Using almost all her strength, she raised her hands to touch her face. She winched from the pain she had caused and her hands moved away. She noticed something next to her. It was like of a silver colour, but she had no idea what it was. Curiosity got the better of her as she reached with her weak arms to grab the silver object.

Her weak hand touched it but didn't grab it. She didn't have any more energy left. She was able to move the silver object a bit but that cause it to fall off the counter and onto the floor.

With a thud sound, the object fell onto the ground. She moved to the edge of the bed to see what it was. Looking down she saw something. It was a girl. A girl with black hair and a pale-like face was on the silver object. She was covered with bandages and she had a few scars also. Slowly, the girl brought up her hand only to see the girl on the silver object do the same. Then a quiet whisper, the girl asked.

"Who are you?"

(Oh and if your wondering what the silver-object is, it's a mirror. Why this girl doesn't know, you'll soon find out unless you already have.)

Kagome got to school 5 minutes late. She didn't know why though, she was just really, REALLY tried. "What's wrong with me???" She thought angrily. Sometimes she just felt pain going through her body. As if someone was beating her up.

"But that can't be true…" She thought. "I'm a ghost, I can't feel pain. At least… I don't think I can…" Kagome stopped right in front of the school only to turn back and walk away. "Maybe I'm using too much of my energy, that's why I tried. I'm going to go and sleep. May be Inuyasha will-" She stopped. Had she just forgotten that Inuyasha wasn't her friend anymore? She frowned. When had she thought that Inuyasha wasn't her friend? Sure they don't talk much anymore nor do they walk together anymore. Kagome stopped in her tracks to find herself at the park. She sat down onto the bench and hugged her knees.

"So… Inuyasha's not my friend anymore?" She said slowly to herself. She hugged herself closer. She didn't like that thought. Flashbacks were running through her mind. Imagines of Inuyasha with her at the river kept replaying and replaying.

"You said you'll help me. You said you were here for me… that you'll protect me." Kagome got angry and she stood up. "And you think you're doing any of that? I'm all alone right now. You're not here for me… You promised too…. Has the promise been broken already? What the hell is happening?" Kagome collapsed and cried into her hands. She didn't understand anything anymore. She was alone once again and she was scared.

"Kagome what's wrong?"

Kagome stopped crying. `Inuyasha?' She thought cheerfully and turned towards the direction of the voice. She was about to get up to hug Inuyasha but it wasn't him. Instead Kouga was standing there. Kagome frowned slightly but hugged Kouga anyways.

"Where were you today? I was waiting for you." She asked crying again.

"I'm sorry Kag. I was busy, can you come with me? I need to show you something." Kagome nodded and followed Kouga. At the other side of the park where the swings were located sat a girl. A girl dressed in black who was frowning slightly. She watched as the Kagome and Kouga walked away and the girl glared at Kagome's retreating back.

"What are you? A double-timing girl?" She asked to herself. "You're with Kouga and yet you still think of Inuyasha…" The girl sat alone in the swings as she looked up into the clouds.

~*~*~*~ School ~*~*~*~

Sango and Miroku and Inuyasha all sat at the bench eating their lunch and chattering away. Until a red-head walked up to them.

"Umm… hello?" She asked. The three turned around and Sango smiled widely.

"Ayame! It's been ages since I talked to you. Please take a seat and lets chat." Sango motioned the seat right beside her and they started talking. Miroku was interested as he leaned over a bit pretending to be eating his lunch.

"So Ayame, tell me why you're here right now?" Sango asked as she tried to shoo the guys away. Inuyasha got the message got up and dragged Miroku away.

"Hey!!! My lunch!!!" Miroku complained as Inuyasha dragged him off. "You made me drop my lunch. Inuyasha didn't care as he continued dragging.

.

.

Seeing the boys were gone they started to talk.

"Kagome lied." Ayame said quietly.

"What Kagome what? What did she do?"

"Kagome lied to me." Ayame said more loudly now. Sango looked at her in shock.

"What do you mean Kagome lied to you?"

"Kagome said she wasn't interested in Kouga. She also she had a crush on someone else and it wasn't Kouga." Ayame replied sadly.

"Oh… so? I still don't understand why this is making you upse-"

"I like Kouga." Sango looked at Ayame like she had grown an extra head or something. "You like Kouga?" Ayame nodded slowly and sighed. "I even told that to Kagome because she seemed like such a nice girl and all. She even told me to tell Kouga or even to ask him out." Ayame took a deep breath. "And now she's going out with him!!!" Ayame became furious. "I thought she was my friend!

"Calm down Ayame. It's ok. You see… Kouga was the one who asked Kagome out and uhh… she's only going out with him so she knows what he likes and stuff and then she's going to tell you all about it!" Sango lied. <A big huge lie.>

"Really? You think? Kagome didn't have to do that. That's kinda stupid but Kagome is a bit weird. Maybe I should go and tell her that she doesn't need to do that." Sango laughed. "Yea… maybe you should." `Good thing Ayame was gullible.' Sango thought and took a deep breath as Ayame walked away.

The girl tried to get out of bed but couldn't. She couldn't move. She started to dragged her body around the bed until she got to the other end of it. Looking down to see if there were more silver-objects she found a chart that was stuck to the bed. Grabbing it she pulled it up and scooted back to the pillow where she started to examine the paper. Everything looked different and completely new to her. She smiled as 3 familiar letters came to her. She opened her mouth as she tried to say the name out. "R-rr-i-i-n? R-i-nn-n. Ri-in. Rin." The voice sounded weird but at least she got the word right. "Rin. Rin. What a pretty name." She thought.

Just then the door opened and the girl turned her head to face the door. A tall white-haired man came in. The girl didn't recognize him but he seemed familiar. `Very familiar." She thought to herself. The man closed the door and looked at her. He opened his mouth as if he were to say something but couldn't.

The girl opened her mouth to say something but only one word came out. "Rin."

"Rin? Is that you?" The man asked. The girl didn't say anything. Was this man talking to her? She didn't know. All she did was repeat what she just said before. "Rin." The man ran towards the girl and hugged her as he pressed the button for the doctors. "Thank god you're still alive!" The girl was confused, who was this man? "Rin?" she said as she tried to squirm away.

The door opened as more people came in. The girl was very scared now. She didn't know anyone or what was happening. The white-haired man was scaring her too. Imagines flashed back into her head. She was at the window, a man was there. No wait… 2 man were there and a girl. The tall man was coming closer to her and she fell off the window. Her eyes got wider. Tall man? Tall man with long white hair? Same tall man with long white hair that's hugging her? She was really scared now. She tried to move away. "N-no." She said quietly, but no one heard. As the other people came closer to her she pushed away yelling. "NO! DON'T TOUCH ME!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" Everyone backed away as the girl covered herself with the blanket and shivered. Not from the cold but from the terror. The tall man walked closer and the girl started to cry. Everyone in the room looked confused and worried.

"Rin? What's wrong?" the girl didn't answer just avoided the tall man's touch as he reached out for her. "Please." She sobbed. "Leave me alone." No one knew what to do anymore so they just left the room all expect for the doctor and nurses. Sesshoumaru had no idea went just happened. Neither did her parents.

"Kouga, where are we?" Kagome asked as they continued walking around.

"Don't' worry Kagome, we are almost there." Kouga replied as he continued to lead.
"Why is this tunnel getting darker and darker?"

"Don't worry, see. Over there! There's a faint light. We are almost there Kagome." Kagome nodded but she doubt Kouga could have seen that.

Kagome bumped into something and fell over.

"Ow… what did I bump into?" Kagome ask.

"I think that was me." Kouga answered her question.

"Sorry, it's too dark to see anything. "

"It's ok, com'on, we are almost there."

"Ok." They both got up and made their way through the tunnel. Leaving something to faintly glow on its own on the ground.

Inuyasha was walking home from school was he wondered why he didn't see either Kagome or Kouga. `No that I care' He said to himself. Just then, Kikyo landed right beside him dressed in her black clothing.

"Inuyasha." She said as she walked closer to him.

"What do you want?"

"I bring you news about Kagome's whereabouts." Inuyasha's eyes got wide as she stared at Kikyo to see if she was lying.

"She is with Kouga going to Naraku's lair. Kagome is walking into a trap right now. You can go and save her if you want but it would be futile."

"Why are you doing this?" Inuyasha asked. Kikyo looked at him and smiled.

"I don't want Naraku to win, but I don't like Kagome. I'm not heartless I just dislike some people. But I want Naraku to go down." Inuyasha nodded.

"Follow me and I will bring you to his lair." Inuyasha nodded again and they were off.
