InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ It Wasn't Supposed To Be Like This ❯ Defeated ( Chapter 2 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
YAY everyone, I’m back! I didn’t exactly go anywhere, but ummm, ya know what I mean. Although I posted this chapter, what not even 2 weeks after I finished the last story I wrote, I still apologize for the long wait! *smiles*
And just to let anyone know, I’m free to chat anytime, any questions or anything, or just chatting, w/e you prefer my info is in my profile, errr w/e you wanna call it.
Okay, here goes the long awaited (well not very) chapter one. But first I’d like to thank the people who reviewed. I will be responding to reviews at the beginnings of every chapter as of now. So, here we go:
Toko Inori: My first reviewer! YAY! Lol. Well, the whole tentacle technique…*gags* I agree with you most definitely on that one! So you don’t have to worry about that in this ff. Well, I hope it turns out to be interesting in the end, and thanks so much for being my first reviewer of this story! Haha, I present to you….ummmm, POCKY!
Sesshy's fangurl: Thanks, and I have a lot planned for this fic, but more ideas are always welcome, as well as needed. Thanks for the review.
CubanBlood: Well, I know he’s a bad guy and all, and I’m sorry you don’t like Nar/Kag ff’s, but I’m glad you’re going to read it anyways. I’ll try to make it as good as I can, and well, as for my fic. sucking just because it’s nar/kag, we’ll have to see about that one. I hope it turns out good in the end.
sweet raptured light: heh heh, you can have either man. LOL, I could easily set you up with Miroku in this fic. if you’d like, I’m considering making it a San/Inu as well. And your character can do whatever it wants to, lol.
Kyouryoku Shin: I'm glad you think so! I can't wait to get it started, but it's going to try and be a pretty long story, as long as I can make it at least. Thanks for the review.
SilverWolfBaby: Lol, I feel loved. Well, I hope you like it as much as my other ones. I'll try my best! :D
midnight-slivermoon: I'm a sessk/kaf fan too, but there are getting to be too many of those, and they're starting to become original. So, since there aren't many nar/kags, I decided to write one instead.
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Inuyasha, or Makoto (propert of Golden-Eyed-Girl), or Mayuko (Property of Sweet Raptured Light) who will be appearing in the next few chapters.
Chapter 1: Defeated
“Inuyasha, NO!” Kagome screamed as one of Naraku’s tentacles shot through Inuyasha’s stomach and came out the other side. Blood leaked freely from the wound as the tentacle was withdrawn only to come back at him again.
A flash of blue streaked through the air, amputating the tentacle before it could reach the inu hanyou. Inuyasha stumbled back onto the ground, his blood quickly pooling around him. He tensed as a thick miasma began to swirl around he and Kagome. He staggered at first, then walked towards Kagome who quickly ran to him questioning his health.
She strung an arrow quickly and shot through the offending gasses, purifying them instantly. Inuyasha growled when he didn’t see Naraku, then turned abruptly and pushed Kagome behind him.
Naraku hovered a good 20 feet above the ground, snarling at the miko’s actions before raising his hand, palm out towards the two. Hundreds of youkai raced towards them, obeying their master’s command to attack Inuyasha and Kagome.
Inuyasha growled and raised Tetsusaiga, sending the wind scar hurling towards the unsuspecting, mindless demons, watching as they easily disintegrated. A tentacle thrust into the back of his leg, making his knees buckle from beneath him. Kagome screamed and kneeled down to Inuyasha, scanning the area for Naraku. When she didn’t see him, she focused her thoughts and tried to sense the jewel shards.
Her head snapped to the right, and sure enough, he suddenly appeared and smirked evilly at Kagome, his crimson eyes dancing with the thrill of victory as he sent more tentacles flying towards them.
Kagome panicked. Closing her eyes, she cradled Inuyasha’s head to her chest, the hanyou was now passed out, and used her body to protect his. Tightening her eyes, she focused as Kaede told her to do in times of panic. She faintly registered a warmth in the pit of her stomach. Focusing harder on that feeling, she was suddenly engulfed in warmth, right as the tentacles were about to collide with her body.
She opened her eyes instantly, taking in the scene around her. The was a dimming, light blue barrier around her moving outward and within a second colliding with Naraku’s body. He howled in a mixture of pain, and rage at being defeated, and by a human miko no less.
Kagome looked down to see Inuyasha’s golden gaze focused intently on her.
“Wow,” he said. “I never knew you could do that kagome.” Kagome smiled nervously. “Neither did I.” She said, helping him to stand. She wrapped his arm around her shoulder and put her own arm around his waist, helping him limp back to the village.

‘Where did all that power come from?’ Naraku wondered as he lay on the tatami. Bandages covered his battered form as he tried to recover the strength to merely it up. He growled suddenly, he should never allow himself to become weak enough to be defeated by that damn girl.
He knew she held power that could exceed Kikyo’s if harnessed, and he also knew that she could not control them. So why did her energy burst from her as it did? Could it be because she was angry? She wasn’t hurt, although she was about to—wait! Maybe, her powers protected her when she became scared, like in a life or death situation.
Once she was endangered, her power took control over her body, could that be it? He smirked as this new information sank in, now all he had left to do was to test that power, to see how far her limits really were. The only problem was working her into a panic without the others interfering.

“Kagome-chan! Inuyasha!” Sango yelled, running out to meet her friends. She immediately stopped when she saw Inuyasha’s condition and then hurried to his other side to help Kagome walk him to Kaede’s hut.
A look of shock was plastered on Miroku’s face as he took in the appearance of his friends. Kagome had a few light scrapes on her knees, from falling, but it was nothing compared to Inuyasha. The hanyou was a bloody mess, covered in gashes and cuts.
‘What caused this?’ Miroku asked himself, wondering who, or perhaps what had the power to inflict this much damage on his stubborn friend. Only one name popped in his head as he brought his right hand up to examine it. With a sight, he dropped his arm back to his side and walked over to help lay Inuyasha on the tatami so that kagome could get a better look at him.
“Where are Kaede, Shippo, and Kirara?” Kagome asked, tearing Inuyasha’s ripped shirt from his chest. Her eyes widened as she saw the total damage inflicted by Naraku. The blood was still leaking from the gashes that laced his chest. Not just long, shallow cutes either. Deep, circular holes were bleeding from where the tentacles bore into his flesh, some going strait through to his back.
“Shippo and Kirara accompanied lady Kaede in gathering herbs for remedies of some sort for a young girl who has become ill.” Miroku answered.
Kagome was hit with a wave of anger and frustration, nodding to Miroku as she wiped his chest clean and more blood continued to spill. She took one of the extra shirts she had brought from her bag and ripped a part of it, wiping away the blood from his chest and quickly putting the material over the wound to soak up the blood. The process lasted about 20 minutes before she had enough blood cleaned to put on the bandage.
She carefully wound it around his torso before going to do the same for his legs.
Sango and Miroku sad outside the hut, talking about Naraku and trying to discover his reason for coming to battles recently. Normally, he would send in a demon-puppet. But the past few times they’d run in to him, he’d be there in his true form, never staying long enough to receive more then a cut, but nevertheless, he was there.
“Could Naraku be getting stronger Houshi-sama?” Naraku shrugged, havin come up with the same conclusion himself, but if he was stronger, then why didn’t he just out right kill them instead of toying with them, which was obviously what he was doing.
Miroku was relieved from his thoughts, that seemed to be getting worse by the second, as he saw Shippo and Kirara scurry up the path, followed by a smiling Kaede. She waved to Sango and Miroku as she approached, her face hardening in worry as she was told of Inuyasah’s predicament.
Kaede walked into her hut, pleased to see the bandaged hanyou lying on the tatami, fast asleep with his head resting in Kagome’s lap. She ran her fingers gently through his silver tresses, staring down at him worriedly. His breathing had finally evened out, and she found herself more relaxed by that thought alone.
Shippo bounded into the hut, jumping into Kagome’s awaiting arms. He hugged her tightly, telling her about her time with Kaede and Kirara and about the different herbs they collected. Shippo had been told not to bother Inuyasha, and not to ask what happened, they all figured that they’d talk about it in the morning, it was getting late and they all needed rest seeing as Inuysha wanted to head out tomorrow, whether his health was better or not.
Kagome didn’t want to leave Inuyasha that night, so she hesitantly lay down beside him, closing her eyes and pretending to be asleep long enough for her to be able to scoot closer to Inuyasha without people wandering, then really falling asleep, barely aware that he’d draped his arm around her.
(don’t worry this is NOT a inu/kag, it IS nar/kag, but I have to start everything normally before changing the way things were meant to be….)
Kagome woke up the next morning snuggled closely to Inuyasha, who she noticed was staring at her confusedly, obviously trying to come to terms with something in his head. Most likely why she had been wrapped around him when they woke up.
“Ummmm, morning, Inuyasha. Uh, gomen, for, sleeping there I just didn’t want to leave you alone last night.” He nodded mutely before moving to sit up. Kagome did the same and came nose to nose with Miroku. She groaned, knowing what was next to come.
“How did you sleep, Kagome-sama? Surely you were comfortable tied together as you two were.” He just had to go and make her uncomfortable didn’t he? Kagome slapped the monk and excused herself to go take a bath before Inuyasha could reject and tell her they needed to leave early.
Sango was already at the spring when she got there, her arms were crossed and lying on the edge of the springs. Her head was resting on her arms and she had her eyes shut. Kagome envied the way she looked so relaxed.
Kagome stripped from her clothing and cautiously stepped into the water, calling Sago’s name. The girl quickly plunged under water so that only her neck was seen. Seeing it was only Kagome, Sango sighed and rolled her eyes as the girl laughed in amusement at her friends unusual behavior.
“Are you okay Sango-chan? Usually you’re so prepared and everything.” Kagome hushed at the faraway look in her friend’s eyes and slowly walked towards her, placing a comforting hand on the girl’s shoulder.
“I’m fine Kagome-chan, really, it’s just I can’t help anticipate the next time Naraku shows up, I know something bad is going to happen. I have this feeling that he’s become much more stronger, if possible. Miroku thinks so as well, although he doesn’t say so, I can tell by the worried glint to his eyes that he thinks something is wrong.” Sango explained.
Kagome smiled reassuringly at her friend. She understood now why she and the monk have been so jumpy about everything lately, and honestly, she was almost there herself. The only thing stopping her from showing her worry was that it would only give her friends more reason to worry themselves as well, and they were under enough stress already.
“It’s okay, you know. I’ll always be here for you Sango.” Sango thanked Kagome and Gave her a light hug, not too close given that they were naked in the hot springs, but enough to show her gratitude towards her sisterly figure before getting out of the spring to return to the village.
Inuyasha paced back and fourth in Kaede’s hut, he couldn’t believe it. After all the stress he made about heading out today, early nonetheless, and the girls still went off to bathe first thing. They couldn’t even clean up first, or ask, which he would have rejected the request anyways, but that wasn’t the point.
Inuyasha heard footsteps nearing, and sniffed the air. “Sango,” he said coolly, “Were we not supposed to be gone by now?” Inuyasha turned around to see Sango in her usual kimono over her taijiya outfit, one of Kagome’s towels hung loosely in her hand.
Sango scratched her head, laughing nervously before muttering a quick apology and running past the angered hanyou. Now all they needed was Kagome and they could finally be on their way.
Kagome took quick bath and ran back to the village, intent on not angering Inuyasha who was most likely already in a bad temper today. And of course, she had to run into him halfway back.
“Sheesh Inuyasha, I was on my way. And you shouldn’t be up anyway, you’re still hurt.”
“Feh.” He said, much like a spoiled infant would do when they did not want to be told what to do. “You were taking too long, so I thought I’d come and see if something was wrong.” He said and turned around, but not before adding one more thing. “If your senses get messed up because of some estranged attack, we’ll never be able to locate the jewel shards.”
“SIT!” Kagome yelled, stepping over his subdued form and making her way back to the village, throwing a casual, ‘good boy’ over her shoulder as she walked away.
