Itazurana Kiss 2
Chapter Four- Anywhere But Here

“Okay milady,” my trainer and friend, Sasuki said. “You have to concentrate.” I nodded and jumped up into the air. “Take that!” My foot almost struck her, but she quickly dodged it. “Concentrate!” She grabbed my foot and twisted it. “Dammit Sasuki, loosen up!” She laughed and threw me on the ground. “Is there something troubling you?”

“…and that's why I was gone for so long.” Sasuki was brought to tears. “Wow, Kurama. I didn't know what you were going through.” I smiled. “You're the only one who knows.” She stood up. “We have to go get him, for your sake.” I stood up also and sighed sadly. “Calm down. We can't do that,” We both sat back down onto the bench. “but I'd still rather be anywhere but here.”

I hope Jakotsu's still out there… I ran fiercely out into the garden. “JAKOTSU!!!!!” No answer. Crap! “Who're you calling, hun?” I turned around. My mother was standing behind me. “Oh…nobody, really.” I walked pass her and into the palace.

“Man,” I muttered to myself. “That was really close,” I walked into my room and collapsed onto my bed.

“Kurama!” He pressed his face against the bars and reached his hand out. “Where've you been?” I smiled. “At Sesshomaru's.” His face looked confused. “Seshomar-who?” He took my hand in his. “You know that demon that took me from you about three months ago?” Bankotsu grimaced. “That's Inuyasha's brother.” I laughed. “I knew I saw a resemblance.”

I sat down by the door. “I have to get out of here, Kurama-kun.” Bankotsu said sadly. “But Naraku lied to me and said Kiamu could break the lock!” I felt Bankotsu's hand caress my hair. “Then we'll just have to get a barrier-breaking sword.” He moved his hand down to my cheek. “Where'll we find one of those?” I asked. “I know just the person.” Then I got interested.

“Listen to me, Kurama. Go find Inuyasha. Trick him to come here and break the lock. Then I'll kill him and we can go back to the southern lands.” I smiled. “You make it sound so easy. How am I supposed to find him?” I stood up and looked at him through the bars. “Here's a jewel shard from my Banryuu.” He handed me a small glowing crystal shard. “That girl that travels with him can sense them. They'll find you. Plus, they want to kill Naraku. If you tell them that you know where his castle is, they follow you for sure.” I kissed his forehead. “Okay, Bankotsu.” I put the shard in the pocket of my undergarments. “Don't forget; whatever happens, I love you.” He said. I nodded and walked out of the palace…and that was the last time I saw him.

I woke up in a cold sweat. Stupid flashbacks…I sat up in my bed and threw the cloaks off of me. This was just not my day. I lazily rolled around and looked at the window. It was almost sundown. I gasped. I had to be at dinner.

Damn it all to hell. I darted down the long hallway and into the cooking quarters. I figured I was late.

“Where is Kurama?” My mother looked worriedly at my father. He shrugged. “It's not like her to be late. She's such a fair child.” Just then I barged through t he door. “Kurama!” They both exclaimed. I grabbed onto a near by sculpture and caught my breath. My mother walked up to me and touched my cheek. “You seem so tired, child. Why don't you go to sleep?” I nodded and walked back out of the room.

When I reached my room, I unenthusiastically slipped off my kimono. Kami, I'd never felt so exhausted. “Honey,” I heard my mother on the other side of the clay walls. “Hmm?” She walked into my room. “Do you feel alright?” Her warm hand touched my forehead. “I'm just a little tired, that's all.” I fell back onto my bed. “Night.” She shot me a concerned look. “Mother, I'm fine.” I said. I knew she didn't believe me, but she walked out of the room anyway.

“Man, that was easy,” I silver-haired demon said. He had adorable puppy ears resting on top of his head. Another large demon fell before him. He was obviously dead.

“Inuyasha,” A fair looking girl in a strange outfit said. She stood beside to others, also looking around her age. One was a girl, the other a boy. The girl had a small neko youkai resting on her shoulder and the boy was standing by a young kitsune. “What is it, Kagome?” She flinched. “I sense a sacred jewel shard,” The demon's amber eyes widened. “Huh?” He walked up to her. “It's kind of distant, though.” He pulled his sword onto his shoulder. “Well what are we waiting for? Miroku, Sango, Kagome, let's go.”
