InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Just A Moment ❯ Chapter 6 ( Chapter 6 )
CHAPTER 6:
Sesshoumaru awoke when he heard a car pull into the driveway. He heard the door downstairs shut with a crash and heard someone yell at whoever had shut the door to not slam it. Kagome stirred and slowly woke to see amber eyes looking into hers. She smiled up at him sleepily and stretched her neck to kiss him. She met unresponsive lips though and she pulled back, a worried look in her eyes. He realized she thought he was regretting what had happened.
"Your family is here." He said. Her eyes registered this and she hurriedly got out of the bed and shut her door, locking it securely. He looked at her quizzically.
"My little brother or Mama might just walk in here if I didn't do that." Now he understood. Seeing that she was quickly getting her clothes together, he sat up and swung his long legs to the edge of the bed and sat there, watching her. She noticed his eyes on her as she picked up her clothes and prepared to take a shower, and then blushed. She had forgotten that she was completely naked, and he reminded her when she saw the glint in his eyes. He saw the blush and a surge of new feeling rushed through him. He frowned in annoyance and got up. She stood up straight to watch him, having not really seen him naked before. She couldn't help but stare at the perfect specimen that stood before her. She gulped and looked back to what she was doing.
"Would you like to try the shower?" She asked. He turned around and walked to her, stopping before her. He saw a blush rise into her face as she struggle with modesty and willed hands to keep from covering herself. He touched the side of her face and she closed her eyes, leaning into the touch. She smiled and opened her eyes to see him smirking.
"I believe I would like to try this `shower' with you." He stated. She blushed furiously. That's not what she had said, though she had been thinking it. He ran his thumb over the mark he had made on her last night, wondering if she knew what it meant. He watched as pleasure flooded her from that simple touch and his smirk deepened. She opened her eyes astonished, questioning.
"It's my mark, it makes you feel pleasure just to have it touched." He decided not to tell her the rest of the complications the mark brought, like the fact that they were mates now. He didn't know how she would take it. He was running his fingers over the mark continuously and knew it was driving her crazy. Her eyes were in a frenzy of wanting when he stopped and turned and started into the bathroom. "Well, lets take that shower." He felt her frustration at the fact that he had stopped, but wasn't prepared when she slid past him, rubbing her body against his sensually before going into the bathroom to start the water going.
He stood in the doorway and waited, watching her. Heh, if he wanted to watch her, she decided she was going to make it hard him on him, literally. She leaned over to retrieve the bathmat, presenting her full backside to him, and glanced at him when she straightened back up. She saw what she wanted; there was the glint in his eyes that told her what he was thinking right now. She turned on the radio and tuned it to a station that came in clearly. A Linkin Park song came on, called Somewhere I Belong. She swayed her hips to it, humming it, then outright singing; he was watching. Tantalized by her dance, a glaze covering his eyes, he watched the way her hips swayed back and forth, it was alluring. She went over and took both of his hands, guiding him to the shower. She stepped in and he followed. She started to wet her hair and put some shampoo in it. Then she helped him wet his hair and took the shampoo and started to work it into his hair. All the time she noticed the growing erection in between his legs. She worked her way around back to the front of him and pressed her body against his, putting her arms over his shoulders and working the shampoo more fully into his hair. In truth it was driving her nuts too, but it was worth it.
"Kagome…" He growled. She pulled back to look into his eyes and found them so compelling, she couldn't look away. He came down on her and kissed her. She returned it before pulling back and smiling.
"We have to finish our shower, otherwise my mother will wonder. That reminds me, how in the world am I going to get you out of the house without you killing anyone?" She thought aloud. He looked at her in an amused way before answering.
"I simply will not speak to them." He didn't realize that things didn't work like that. Oh, well, she'd made the choice, now she would have to answer to the consequences. CONSEQUENCES!
"OH MY GOD!! What if I'm pregnant?!" She yelled. He still had that frigging amused look on his perfect face.
"Of course your not pregnant. It's not your time now. I would know if you did. I would be able to tell." He said it in an ingratiating way, but she figured it out to be his way of being comforting. After all, she couldn't imagine that he would want a hanyou child, it just wouldn't work; he hated them. Once again she wondered why he had allowed what happened to happen. He was supposed to hate humans, but his body was saying something different, especially right now. She sighed in defeat, she supposed she would probably never know, or at least not anytime soon. She looked up at him, finishing with his hair. He was so tall, he towered over her. She barely came up to his shoulder; her arms were beginning to tire from holding them up in the air for so long. Just to be safe, later on, she decided she was going to get a pregnancy test, and take the morning after pill. She was just finishing with her hair when she heard a knock on her door.
. . . . . . .
"I think if we all are touching we will all be able to go through the well." Inuyasha told them. Miroku had tried a long time ago to go through the well be himself, but had landed at the bottom with a hard thud. Sango had watched Kagome go once and tried to follow, but she could not get through either. They had left Kirara and Shippou with Kaede. The three of them were standing at the lip of the well. Inuyasha kneeled down to allow the both of them on his back. They climbed on and he stood on the lip of the well.
"Ready?" He asked them.
"Ready." Sango said in her sweet, yet low voice.
"Mm-hm." Miroku acquiesced. Inuyasha jumped down and when they were just about to hit the dirt of the bottom, Sango and Miroku both closed their eyes. Inuyasha never thought twice about going through and was not surprised when the weightless feeling took over the three of them. The other two opened their eyes, surprised they had not hit bottom, and grasped Inuyasha to make sure they did not float away. They felt as light as air, blackness surrounded them. Then they hit the dirt on the other side and hit their butts on the dirt as gravity returned. Inuyasha was standing and scowled down on them.
"Come on guys. We're not here to sit on our Asses." He said and jumped out of the well. Sango made Miroku go up first, knowing what he would be watching if she went up before him.
"Why, Sango, don't you trust me?" The monk said. Inuyasha looked bored when Sango slapped the lecherous monk across the face, causing a handprint there.
"Hentai." She quickly caught up to Inuyasha, who was headed toward a weird, tall building of sorts. She was looking around, seeing all the things that she had never seen before, lampposts, wires and telephone poles. At the top of some steps she looked down and saw many more buildings like the one they were headed toward. Weird things on wheels flew around at incredible paces. She saw the weirdest looking bird in the air and stared at it, shaken. It did not flap its wings at all! And it made a funny droning noise. Everything here was so loud, she didn't really like it. She took a few running steps to catch up with the hanyou and stood at the front door while he did something Kagome had told him to do once, she called it `knocking'. He hit the door with his fist, causing it to rattle on its hinges, before opening it and walking in. He almost ran into Kagome's mom and stopped, Sango running into him. Miroku was keeping his distance; finally realizing the Youkai Exterminator was in no mood to fool around right now. He stopped a few feet behind and listened while Inuyasha talked to Kagome's mother.
"Is Kagome here?" he asked Mama. She smiled at him welcomingly.
"I think so, I'm not sure. You know Inuyasha, when you knock on the door, you're supposed to wait until someone answers it before coming in." She admonished gently. He blushed.
"So that's what she said right before she sat me." He remembered, blushing lightly. Sango hid a smile with her hand, and Miroku came up closer.
"So, what exactly did you see that time, Inuyasha? Was she totally undressed, or just…?" Sango's' fist came around and got Miroku square in the jaw, shutting him up quickly. Mama frowned, realizing what they were talking about, and was about to say something, but Sango stopped her.
"Hello, you must be Kagome's mother. I'm one of her friends from the other side of the well. I think maybe I should explain it. But first, is there anyone here with Kagome?" Sango asked her, remembering why they were here. Mama gave her a small smile.
"I don't think there's anyone here with her. I'm not even sure she's here, but I think so because I thought I heard the shower running when I got home." She gestured toward the stairway. "I'll go check." She said. Sango followed after her and thought it would be a good idea to explain what they had been talking about.
"About what they were saying earlier, Inuyasha doesn't have any manners usually, and he must have gone into Kagome's room through the window without checking first. Kagome probably got angry and told him how to `knock', while sitting him." Kagome's mother nodded in understanding and wondered how many other times something like that had happened. Sango continued. "Inuyasha is actually very good about Kagome's privacy when she trying to take a bath or something. Miroku here," She pointed toward the monk, "Is quite the pervert, but he leaves Kagome alone because otherwise Inuyasha would probably slice his head off. That and both of them have found that Kagome slaps hard." Mama seemed slightly pacified, but the thought of this Inuyasha her daughter has very clear feelings for was a little too violent for her liking. But at least he was very protective, which would keep Kagome safe, or at least as safe as possible. She stood in front of Kagome's door and knocked on it loudly. There was muffled shuffling and a "Just a minute!" Yelled. Inuyasha listened with his sensitive ears and thought her heard lips meeting lips, and then a window opened.
"Kagome, your friends are here!" Mama called. More shuffling and the window was shut carefully.
"Be right there!" She called. Inuyasha was getting annoyed. He was about ready to use his claws to unlock the door when it was opened, revealing a towel covered Kagome. She yelped when she saw who it was and closed the door most of the way, peeking her head out.
"What do you want?" She said to him coldly. He was surprised and growled angrily.
"I was here to make sure Sesshoumaru wasn't hurting you but I guess your fine without me!" He yelled at her and turned around, crossing his arms in front of him. Suddenly his nose caught scent of something and he sniffed harder, frowning.
Sango did not need the nose of a demon; she could see what Inuyasha smelled clear as day on Kagome's neck. Miroku had no idea what was going on and just tried to see what he could of Kagome through the door crack.
"Well, since Kagome very apparently isn't ready, why don't the two of you go downstairs, and what's your name? Sango? You can go in and talk to Kagome if you would like?" She looked at Kagome, who nodded, and then back to Sango, who stepped closer to the door. Kagome stood behind it and let Sango in, shutting it firmly behind the two of them and locking it. The two men who were left standing outside and went down the stairs to sit on the furniture. Inuyasha avoided the love seat; he could still smell Sesshoumaru on it. Instead he sat on the big chair that smelled of Kagome, it was he favorite seat, and Miroku took her grandpa's seat. They sat in silence for many long moments.
. . . . . . .
Sango watched Kagome as she sat on her bed and started to comb her hair. She was looking around the room in fascination, but quickly focused her attention on Kagome.
"Why did you mate with Sesshoumaru?" Sango said directly. Kagome stopped combing in mid-stroke and blushed bright.
"H, how did you know?" She stuttered. Sango nodded toward her and looked her straight in the eye.
"He marked you, on your neck there." She replied. Kagome's fingers went automatically to her neck and brushed the spot. It didn't hurt hardly at all anymore, and when Sesshoumaru had touched it… Shivers passed through her remembering how it had felt.
"I…" She started to say. Truth be told, she didn't know what had gotten into her.
"Did he force you to, Kagome?" Sango asked gently. Kagome looked startled.
"NO! Oh no, of course not. He's actually really gentle. You can believe me, when I say that he won't ever physically hurt me." She stared at the floor, an almost dreamy look upon her face.
Sango was shocked. "You actually have feelings for that bastard? How many times has he tried to kill us Kagome? Do you realize you are bound to him now, that you are his soul mate? You cannot mate another without him knowing it, and he has every right to kill that demon or human if they do. It is the same in reverse. If he were to ever try to mate with someone else, you would know it immediately, and would the right to kill that demon, or human. That's what the mark on you does. It connects the both of you together, you can share each others power, and eventually your thoughts." Kagome was staring at Sango in shock.
"So, now that he marked me, we are stuck together, like being married?" Kagome's voice got higher and higher in urgency. Sango nodded, but stopped to ask her something.
"Did you mark him?" She asked. Kagome shook her head. "Didn't he tell you anything before you did this?" Kagome shook her head again, too stunned to speak. She was pretty much married to a demon; she was mated to that arrogant brother of Inuyasha's! How could she have let that happen! What an idiot she was!
"Sango, is there anyway to break the mating?" She asked hopefully. Sango thought hard.
"I believe there is, since you didn't mark him. You would have to kill him, yourself. I think, and then you would be free. But if you had marked him…" Sango stopped. Kagome nodded for her to go on.
"I'm not totally sure, but if you had marked him, there would be no way for you to break the mating. The only way to do it would be to have another demon kill him, and mate with you, so you would still be mated, just to someone else. But you didn't mark him so it doesn't matter." Kagome heaved a sigh. Inuyasha sure was going to be mad about this one. She sure had messed up. Damn had she messed. Now she had to fix it. But how in the world was she going to kill Sesshoumaru? Hell, she really didn't want to kill Sesshoumaru. Come to think of it, how did Sango know all this stuff about demons? She voiced the last thought aloud and Sango turned a deep shade of pink.
"I, once, a long time ago was in love with a dragon demon. He was sweet and nice, very unlike most demons. He kept his human form most times to appease me, and he wanted to mate with me. I was willing, but his customs called for an agreement between families, and mine being a youkai exterminator family, would not agree. His family was not as adamant about refusing, but it was clear that they weren't happy about it. So we could not and his family moved away to keep us from seeing each other anymore." She finished. Kagome had no idea; she would have never guessed it. Sango, falling in love with a demon? It was way too much to think about with everything else, so she just shook her head.
"I'm sorry Sango. I think I know how you feel." Sango gave her a quizzical look, but Kagome did not seem to want to elaborate. She shrugged and decided to study Kagome's room while she dressed. In one corner she found a flat surface up on long wooden legs that held many papers and books on it. So many books! Kagome's family must have been a wealthy one to have so many large books. She called over her shoulder.
"Kagome, could I borrow one of your books sometime?" She asked. Kagome turned to look at her surprised.
"Sure, Sango. You can read any book you want except my schoolbooks. I have to have them to study from." She explained. Sango looked slightly shy.
"Umm, one other thing, I don't, that is I never was taught how to read." She looked down at the floor shyly. Kagome grinned and tossed Sango a bottle.
"I'll teach you how to read, if you want." She walked over while Sango was examining the bottle she had been tossed. Kagome took it and pooped open the top, squeezing a small amount onto her hand. She rubbed it all over hands and kept rubbing until it was all soaked in.
"This stuff is called hand lotion. It smells nice and keeps your skin soft. Try it!" She pulled Sango's hand forward and put some of the lotion on it. Sango held it up to her nose and smelled it. She smiled brightly.
"It really does smell nice, thank you Kagome." She rubbed it all over her hands as she had seen Kagome do and felt it soak into her skin, making her hands smell good. She ran her fingers wondrously over her calluses and noticed that they were softer. "My hands are so much softer!" She exclaimed. Kagome giggled at the happy expression on Sango's face.
"Would you like it? I have so many of them, and my friends just got me that one, so it's still full. I've used it twice now. You can have it if you want it, I have one that I like better, and it smells like mangos. I'm not really a big fan of vanilla." She said, indicating the bottle still in Sango's hand. Sango smiled brightly.
"Could I really have it? Your sure you don't want it?" She said. Kagome smiled and nodded. Sango happily slipped it in the folds of her kimono and started looking around Kagome's room again. She was looking around the bathroom, trying to figure out what things were for, when she noticed a box of long, wrapped things. She carried it out to Kagome to ask her what it was. Kagome blushed deep red and took it, pulling one of the things out. She was embarrassed, but Sango might like to use them…
"That's called a tampon. When you're having your period,"
"What?" Sango asked. Kagome smacked herself. How in the world would Sango know what a period was?
"When you bleed, from inside, is what your period is." Sango acknowledged this with a smooth nonchalance that made her think that it was not a big deal in the Sengoku Jidai. She continued her explanation of tampons.
"You slid them inside of you, where babies come from, to stop the blood flow. Sometimes they are more comfortable than a pad, and if you put them in right, you don't even notice when they are in. You have to change them every 6-7 hours, and there are different absorbencies if you are bleeding heavier." She managed to explain all of that without too much problem. Sango was looking at her curiously. Kagome knew what she was thinking. "Do you have your period now?" She asked. Sango nodded. "Would you like to try it?" She prodded. Sango swallowed and nodded. It really sounded like a good idea. God knows it would help her. She would be able to go swimming and not have to change her padding so much. Kagome handed her one and unwrapped it for her, directing her for the bathroom. She showed her how it worked and what to do to get it in before shutting her in the bathroom to try it out. Kagome waited patiently for a moment and then Sango opened the door, smiling. She twirled and laughed.
"Your right! I don't even feel it! What an invention!" She smiled and Kagome handed her a box.
"When this box runs out tell me and I'll come back and get you a new one, okay?" Sango nodded.
"Thank you so much Kagome. These things mean more to me than you'll ever know." She said happily. Kagome smiled back and they prepared to go downstairs.
