Chapter 8
Kikyo (Kagome) and Inuyasha were just sitting talking underneath the
God tree once again. They couldn't find anything else to do throughout the day.
This happened for two reasons one Inuyasha didn't know what Kikyo wanted to do and two because Kagome didn't want to give herself away by doing things she would normally do with Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha lets take a walk around the forest."
"Alright Kikyo."
So, off they went taking a walk through the forest, perfectly content to just walk, enjoying each other’s company. They were like this when Inuyasha got a whiff of a horrible stench that could only belong to one individual....Naraku!
"Naraku! What are you doing here!"
Naraku merely chuckled "Why Inuyasha, it's far to long don't you think? Oh, you are not with your other wench but Kikyo. Now this is quite a surprise."
Naraku took a good look at Kikyo and his eyes widened slightly before his smirk came back to his face.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here? This is definitely not what I was expecting.
Tell me Kikyo, does Inuyasha know what you two have done?" His voice dripping with sarcasm when he said Kikyo.
Her eyes that had widened narrowed dangerously. "I have no idea what your talking about Naraku."
"Of course you don't, poor little Inuyasha can't know, can he? Don't worry,
I won't tell him your little secret, I could have some fun with this knowledge."
With that he was gone but not before saying "I'll be seeing you all later Inuyasha,
Kikyo and her reincarnation."
After he was out of sight Inuyasha rounded on Kikyo. "What did that bastard mean? What secret? What are you hiding from me?"
"Nothing Inuyasha don't know what he was talking about."
"You're lying, I can smell it!"
"Maybe you just shouldn't know yet Inuyasha, but you'll find out soon enough."
"No! Tell me now! I deserve to know!"
"No you don't, not yet! I can't tell you so either stop asking or just leave!" She said it so forcefully he took a step back, he had never seen Kikyo this flustered, besides that one day she had cried.
"Kikyo," he said gently "please tell me, if Naraku knows it could put us all in danger, so I need to know."
"No Inuyasha, you don't. Its my secret, and if people get hurt, it will be my fault, along with other people who deserve it so just calm down. You'll find out eventually."
"Fine Kikyo, I'll drop it for now, but you will tell me someday soon."
"Count on it Inuyasha."
His eyes narrowed suspiciously, Kikyo never said things like that, could they...NO!!
They would never do that, would they? He would have a serious talk with Kagome when he got back to camp. If they did what he thought they did she was so dead.
