Hola! I’m back with what I think is going to be the last chapter of this fanfic. I’ve got a couple others’ under way and am unsure what to post next. I’ve got another Inu/Kag pairing, also a Kag/Shippou and a Kag/Sesshy one as well. Please let me know what you guys would like to read next! Hehe.

Disclaimer: Yeah…yeah…I don’t own Inuyasha, I don’t even have a dog… I’ve got some cats’ though and some Avenged Sevenfold music… Those guys are great, and the Base Guitar player is hot…not as hot as Sesshy though…mmmm Sesshy, Inu and the Guy from Avenged Sevenfold…what a night that would be…( “Neko is now in a lust induced haze with drool running down her chin. -Only for them to merge into a dark purple…and indigo and flash outwards, sweeping the whole valley floor. Then her eyes became the blank color of dried dirt and she fell to the ground. The last things she heard where the clanking of metal on the ground and her love calling out to her, before her mind was shrouded in darkness once more.-

Kagome was once again engulfed in a familiar darkness. Only this time she didn’t start out alone like she had on the past few occasions. There was some one or something in her arms struggling to be released. ‘Don’t let go child of our line!’ She heard and tightened her hold on the mass in her embrace. What ever it was felt tainted and evil. As the minutes passed light came to her eyes and she could see the orb that was the jewel moving closer to her. ‘Look, child, at what you now hold.’ The multi-toned voice commanded of her. In a moment of apprehension Kagome almost refused to do so.


Slowly she looked down and almost let go in shock. Not only was she unclothed…The mass she held in her arms was none other than Naraku!? What was he doing here? In a place she had come to think of as the inside of the jewel. ‘That is where you are wrong, this is inside of You… not us. We are inside of you, always inside of you.’

‘What am I supposed to do with him?’ She asked with out moving her lips. She felt more then heard the jewel sigh.

‘That is not some thing we can tell you One. You must decide. We can have no part in your choice. Demo, you must hurry…if he gets lose in here, the fate of the world will be a hundred times worse then when he was possessed by the sword.’ The voice slowly faded and Kagome felt it’s presence fade. Tears made their way down her alabaster cheeks once more and she struggled internally. ‘What am I supposed to do? I’m not strong enough for this, I don’t know what to do. I can’t do this. What do I do?’

Until then Naraku had been silent, but he chose that moment to speak up. ‘I know your tired… I’m tired too…just let go. Let all the pain leave…rest. Nothing can hurt you here. You can stay here where nothing can ever hurt you again. I’ll make sure nothing can hurt you. Keep you safe from every thing. Like any mate would for his special one…his ‘Tama.’ As he was speaking, he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her to him.

‘Wha… I… don’t…’ Kagome felt her mind get fuzzy. She felt so secure in his arms. Her mate. She looked at him once more and took in his long, silky, white locks and his sun bright eyes. ‘My mate…my Inu…’ She mumbled and buried her face into his chest, lightly closing her eyes.

‘That’s it my dear. Rest. I’ll protect you, if you’ll let me. It will be just you and me together for ever, like you promised.’ Kagome sighed to herself and held him closer to her. This was perfect… almost too perfect. Just her and Inuyasha together forever. No one else. No one else? She felt something tug at the edge for her mind. Some thing that was a mixture of Red hair and giggles. Silently she kissed Inuyasha. Only this kiss was devoid of passion. Instead it was filled to the brim with understanding, acceptance and a small dash of love. Kagome pulled out of the kiss when she felt him try to deepen it.

She pulled her head back and opened her sad brown eyes. ‘Kagome love? What’s wrong?’ Asked the voice that she loved so much.

Ephemerally, she smiled. ‘Nothing is wrong Naraku. Every thing is as it should be.’

Almost immediately, Inuyashas’ eyes’ shot through with red and his face scrunched up in hate, his white hair bleeding into black. ‘Let me go whore!’ Naraku ground out without moving his lips.

While this was happening, Kagomes’ small smile didn’t leave her face once, and in a multi-tone voice that was a mixture of Kagomes’ and the ones used by the Shikon… ‘No, Naraku. You are where you belong. I accept you. You don’t have to be alone any more. You can stay here with us. Please stay?’ She asked him, caressing his hair as she did so.

She could see him as he stared at her in furious silence and she started to glow brighter and brighter with some unknown emotions. All the fury and hate seemed to drop from him at once as he seemed realized why she was glowing in such a way…like an angel. ‘How, how can you not hate me? I’ve killed people you loved, brought you untold amounts of grief and pain… It’s all unforgivable…Just kill me please…make me disappear. I don’t deserve…’ He’s tirade was interrupted by her soft, slightly clawed finger.

‘Don’t. Here, with you in my arms, I can see all that you’ve done, for centuries into the past. Every single deed. I forgive you. And no matter what you’ve done… Don’t take the cowards way out. I can help you. Starting with gaining forgiveness from that little youkai girl in white. Your’ soul needs to right the wrongs it has done. Will you accept my help?’

For a few moments there was no movement or sound from the pair. The tension almost unbearable. Then almost to silently for her to hear, the word ’yes’ floated though her senses. Smiling bright enough to rival the sun, Kagome pulled Naraku to her as tightly as she could.
‘ Then relax…’

The light around her intensified and Kagome merged with Naraku, his dark and her light. What took only moment’s seemed like an eternity to them both. When the light died down There was only one being hanging there in the dark. Kagome could once again feel the presence of the jewel, and looked in it’s direction. ‘We are happy with your’ choice little one.’ it stated.

‘If that’s what you wanted to happen all this time…why couldn’t you tell me so?’ She asked with a new, deeper edge to her voice, courtesy of Naraku.

‘Because if you had asked us what we wanted you to do. We, being what we are, would have wanted you to destroy that evil being. But you, being the pure soul you are… you chose to save his soul. Bring it into the light in hopes of healing a taint in a once pure soul any one else would have thought to far gone. This was a choice you needed to make on your own.’

Again silence permeated the area around them. ‘You will have some hard times ahead, with him residing as part of you. Try not to let the change affect you to greatly. Remember your light. But for know, you must go back to those who still need you.’ And as the voice trailed off the jewel sank into her body once more like it had done when it had merged with her the first time.

Kagome shot her eyes open, only to be confronted with the worried eyes of Inuyasha. He was holding her tightly in his arms and babbling at her words she didn’t understand. In the background of the noise he was making, she could hear Sesshoumaru whispering and felt a wind rush around her and Inuyasha. Slowly the things Inuyasha where saying to her began to make sense.

“…Love you, please don’t ever do that again…” The His lips descended on hers and she kissed him as feverishly as he was kissing her. Gently he lifted her in his arms and her vision turned to Sesshoumaru swinging the Tensiega around creating the wind she had felt previously. She saw small green demons disappearing from sight. They where the demons of the underworld trying to take the souls of the dead. Soon they where all gone and people stood once more, but this time, in life… not un-life.

“Kagome, love, What happened? Where is that bastard Naraku? Why do you look so different?” Kagome sighed and turned to her mate and smiled, showing off the tip of a fang.

“Naraku is now a part of me…we are one.” She said in a two toned voice one hers’ and one slightly deeper. “And how do I look different?” She asked in confusion. Suddenly Sesshoumaru was at her side holding the Tensiega out to her. She took it and inspected herself on it’s reflective surface. Inuyasha was right, she did look different. Her eyes where no longer just brown, they where tinted now with an earthy red. Her right cheek was adorned with two dark green stripes. Her black hair was now darker then midnight, compared to the ebony it was before. Her eyelids where highlighted with a light green color and her lips appeared more red then normal.

Tucking her hair behind her slightly pointed ear, all she said was, “Sugoi…”

(Epilogue)


Kagome smiled at Sango, for ever grateful that Sesshoumaru was able to bring her friends back with the power of Tensiega, then left the car they had used to go to the location of Naraku’s headquarters. Inuyasha was already there waiting for them, incase there was anything that didn’t leave after Narakus’ disappearance. The door was unlocked and Kagome walked into the front hall of the mansion. She could smell Naraku as if he was still here. ‘ Walk down the hall, Her room is the last one on the left.’ She could hear in her head. She didn’t think she’d ever get used to his voice being there.

She arrived at the door and pushed it open. Standing in the middle of the room was a small white youkai holding a mirror. Her dark eyes reminded Kagome of the void she was partially created from. “Kanna? Do you know who I am?” the little girl nodded her head and Kagome gave her one of her dazzling smiles. “Do you want to come live with me? You can have a little brother…His name is Shippo, I bet he would love to play with you.” As she was speaking she held her hand out towards the girl. Slightly cold fingers wrapped around hers and Kagome brought the small girl closer to herself and brought her into a tight embrace. Almost unnoticed by Kagome, a tear slipped down her pale cheek and the girl whispered “Thank you.”
