Kagome’s mother – Suki (Made it up)
(~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~)
Kagome felt as though her heart was being ripped from her body. Her eyes were trained on the woman who stood over her taking the soul that was once hers. Kagome closed her eyes and tried to keep her soul in her own body but soon she felt a numbing sensation wash over her. She knew that she lost.
She prayed that she would be saved before Kikyo took her soul. However she knew that was not going to happen. Her and Inuyasha had been fighting about him running to Kikyo only for her to sit him and run away from camp with out her weapons. Kagome had been heading to the well.
However she did not make it. Kagome’s last words were ‘Inuyasha’ as a tear fell from her eye. She barely realized that her heart had slowed and stopped followed by the blackness of death. Kagome was no longer with the living.
Kagome knew that she was slowly dying as her incarnation took her soul once again. A single tear fell from her eye as the white orb floated out of Kagome’s body and captured by one of Kikyo’s soul collectors. Kikyo opened her arms and took the rest of her soul into her body.
>Nightmare Ends<
Kagome’s eyes widen as she sat straight up from sleep. Her right hand was pressed against her chest while the left was clutching the blanket. It had been over 2 years since she had left the Feudal Era and sealed the well. Two years ago that she had died and woke up at the bottom of the well yet the nightmare still came and haunted her.
Kagome had barely been able to climb up the rope latter before her grandfather and mother came into the well house to check on a noise they had heard. She barely remembered as they took her into the house. Kagome had woken up the next day stronger than she had ever felt in her life. After that day she decided to travel and train.
Kagome was now perfect at hand to hand combat along with able to use her miko powers to form a pink fluffy cloud that she is able to use for travel. She is also able to form weapons with her powers along with barriers. Kagome had went to a high priestess that lived not to far from her home, at the shrine, to be trained.
Kagome was also skilled in almost every weapon. Her favorite however was a blade, about the length of her arm, which was curved on both sides. It resembled a flame, there were golds, yellows and oranges to make the blade look as though it was on fire. The hilt was silver with pearl inlay of a dragon holding a pink jewel it its mouth. She had asked for this sword to be made by the only person she trusted. Totosai.
After about three months of traveling in her era she had found the old youkai in the mountains not to far from where he lived in the Feudal era. She had not asked about anything that happened because she did not wish it. He did tell her that she would be surprised when she returned.
That had been over two years and now it was her time to return to the one place that would either make or break her. Calming her aura she rose for the day. Kagome gathered her clothing and headed to the bathroom for a shower. She needed something to calm her nerves about returning and a shower was the perfect way.
Once her shower was done she dried herself off with the heat from her powers. She had just learned to use them for such an act. Grinning at all the things she had accomplished while here she quickly donned her special made kimono that Totosai had made for her. He did not tell her any thing other than the fact that it came from the silk collection of a Goddess.
The silk kimono cleaned and repaired itself with out much difficulty. The outer kimono was a gray that faded into red at the bottom. It had a design of a sakura tree with a wolf howling to a full moon. The tree and the wolf were a dark gray while the moon was a light red almost pink. Kagome only had the outer and inner kimono. Where as the outer kimono was designed and the inner kimono was black. Her hakamas were the same color of her inner kimono.
Kagome checked to make sure that her sword along with her throwing daggers were in place before she grabbed her back pack and headed down stairs. To day would be the day that she returned to the place that hurt her beyond her imagination. As she descended the stairs she wondered if Inuyasha mated with Kikyo. Shaking her head she entered the kitchen to find her mother a the table.
Kagome’s mother, Suki, looked up and smiled sadly. “You’re going back to day.” It was a statement. Her whole family understood what she needed to do and had to do once she finished her training.
Kagome nodded. “Yes I will be going back after breakfast.” Kagome sat down in her seat.
Her grandfather and brother were still in bed which gave her time to speak with her mother. Suki noticed that Kagome was eating slowly. She cleared her throat and waited for Kagome to look up at her.
“Are you truly ready to see him again?” Suki’s gaze soften when she saw that her daughter was very nervous. She got up and went to her daughter and gathered her into her arms.
Kagome took a shaky breathe. “I really don’t know but I know I need to go back.” Kagome pulled back and looked up at her mother. She was glad that her mother had let her transfer to home schooling. It had helped a great deal with fighting with Inuyasha before she came back.
“Do they even know that you are even alive?” Suki asked and watched watched her daughter for any kind of sign that she wasn’t ready to return.
Kagome shook her head. “No. Once Kikyo took my soul she probably went to them and told Inuyasha along with the others that see found me dead and buried me.” Kagome bowed her head and sighed as she closed her eyes.
“Well they will get quite a shock wont they?” Suki grinned knowing full well that she raised an amazing daughter.
Kagome nodded smiling back at her mother. “Yes they will.” Turning and picking up her bag she slung it over her shoulder. “I’ll be back when I can.”
“Just be safe.” Kagome and her mother hugged once more before Kagome walked out the door and headed to the well house. She briefly stopped at the God Tree and touched the scar that was still visible.
“I’m coming back.” She whispered as she headed to the well.
Suki watched as her daughter walk the familiar path that she had taken since she was 15. Kagome was no longer a young girl but now was a young woman with curves. Kagome’s dark hair was changing for some reason. It now had blonde streaks running through it. Kagome’s eyes were also changing.
Her once blue eyes were now a lighter blue. Suki noticed just under Kagome’s skin there was discoloration that started to appear. At first she believed that Kagome had healing bruises however over time they became more defined. They were now a light blue like her eyes. Other than that she appeared human. Sighing Suki walked back into the kitchen and started to clean the house.
>Kagome<
Kagome stopped in front of the well house door and took a deep breath. She had not stepped foot into this area since two years ago. Setting her mentally and physically she pulled off her sutra and opened the door. The air was musky from the lack of circulation. Kagome gently walked down the stairs and looked down at the old well that she had sealed.
Kagome closed her eyes and held out her hands. In her mind she asked her power that was sealing it to return to her. It made no qualms about returning to where it belonged. When Kagome opened her eyes she looked down and noticed that she could hear the hum of the magic that still resided inside the well.
Taking a deep breathe she jumped into the dark well and smiled when the blue magic grabbed a hold of her and pulled her through time to the Feudal Era that she had missed since she returned.
When the magic died down Kagome looked up and smiled. The sky was clear and white puffy clouds were floating by. Taking a deep breathe of clear air she jumped out of the well and landed on the out side with out much problem. Kagome wondered what everyone would look like since she knew that none of them thought that she was alive.
Setting her resolve Kagome started to walked down the path towards Edo. Kagome could feel that all her friends along with Kikyo were sitting in Kaeda’s hut. She felt Shippou’s aura as it came towards her. Kagome also felt the others following after him. Knowing what would most likely happen she dropped her bag and placed a barrier around herself.
>Shippou and The others<
Everyone was sitting at Kaeda’s not doing anything. Sango and Miroku were speaking quietly. Shippou glared at Inuyasha and Kikyo because he could smell his mothers scent on the undead miko when she first returned two years ago. He was not the only one that did not believe the story about Kagome being attacked and her trying to help.
Shippou closed his eyes and breathed deep. When he smelled lavender with the hint of a rain shower he knew right away who it was. He jumped up and ran from the house as fast as he could. He had grown some what since the two years that Kagome had been gone.
Sango and Miroku along with Kirara were following close behind because Kirara started to mew happily and nudging Sango to follow. Once outside Kirara changed and let them climb up onto her back. As soon as Sango and Miroku were on Kirara took to the air. Following the scent that Shippou had also smelled.
Inuyasha followed after them not bothering to smell the air. Kikyo followed after them more slowly. She could not understand how she was able to come back when Kikyo was sure that she had taken all of the girls soul that once belong to her. Kagome should be dead at this point in time and if she was not Kikyo would rectify her mistake.
>Shippou<
Shippou was the first one to arrive to where Kagome was standing. He skidded to a stop about five feet from where she was standing. His eyes started to tear as he ran forward and jumped into his mothers arms. He knew that she would never leave him unless it was urgent or necessary.
“Oh Momma I missed you so much.” Shippou cried as he held on to Kagome for dear life.
Kagome rubbed his back. “Don’t worry Shippou I’m back now and I promise not to leave you again.” Kagome pulled Shippou back that way she could look at him. “My you have grown.” She smiled when she saw Kirara with Sango and Miroku landing not to far from her.
Sango had tears in her eyes as she jumped off Kirara and ran up to Kagome. “Kagome!” She yelled as she wrapped her arms around her sister. Miroku walked up and smiled.
Kagome pulled back from Sango and went to Miroku. He opened his arms and she went into his embrace. Kagome had not realized just how much she had missed them. Of course then she felt his hand move south. Growling she hit him upside the head and stepped back.
“I can see that you have not changed.” Kagome smirked when Miroku just gave her his lecherous grin. Shaking her head she froze when she felt a flare in someone’s aura.
Kagome quickly turned and barely dodged an arrow that flew pass her head. Her gaze went to the only person she knew who also use a bow. Kikyo was standing there next to a stunned Inuyasha with her bow in one hand while her other went for another arrow.
“What the fuck are you doing, Kikyo?” Sango yelled from her place beside Kagome. “Why are you attacking her?”
“She is not my reincarnation.” Kikyo readied her bow again. “My reincarnation died. Or do you not remember?”
Kagome snarled as she heard what Kikyo said. She had enough of this walking corpse. Kagome held out her left hand as if she was holding a bow. As soon as Kagome closed her hand a bow did appear out of a golden pink light. She then put her hand to the string and pulled back. An arrow of her power appeared.
“Did you tell them that YOU were the one who killed me?” Kagome snarled. “Or did you tell them that you found me dead?”
“I do not know who you are but you are not my reincarnation.” Kikyo let her arrow go.
Everyone watched in shock as Kagome let her arrow go and split Kikyo’s arrow down the center and continued to go until it embedded itself in Kikyo’s chest. Kagome walked up to the undead miko and bent down.
“No I am not your reincarnation.” Kagome picked Kikyo up by her throat. “I am the Kami’s Miko, when you pulled your other half of soul from my body it allowed my true soul to take its place. Really I should be thanking you.”
Kagome watched as fear spread across Kikyo’s face. “However the Kamis told me what I was sent back to do.” Kagome’s face became emotionless as she stared into Kikyo’s eyes.
“W-What is th-that?” Kikyo tried to speak only for Kagome to squeeze harder.
“To give you peace.” Kagome smiled as she reached up with her other hand and pulled the arrow from Kikyo’s chest.
Kikyo’s eyes widen in shock and pain as she felt her souls leave her clay body. She looked down into Kagome’s eyes and seen nothing but pureness that she only wished she possessed.
Everyone was watching the scene before them with wide eyes. Inuyasha was the first to snap out of his trance. He rushed towards Kagome and Kikyo only to be stopped when Kagome turned her gaze towards him while she held Kikyo in her hand.
“Kagome why are you doing this?” Inuyasha pleaded with her. “Kikyo tried to help you, it wasn’t her fault that you were killed when..”
Kagome snapped when she heard when Inuyasha was staying. With ease Kagome squeezed the clay neck of Kikyo until her head fell from her shoulders. She had kept her eyes on Inuyasha the whole time to see the disbelief and surprise swirling in his eyes.
“ENOUGH!” Kagome yelled as she advanced on Inuyasha. “I was never attacked by a youkai. Kikyo followed me when you and I argued about you always running off to her. She put a spell on me that paralyzed me while she took the rest of her soul.”
Kagome backed handed Inuyasha when he went to speak. “I did not tell you to speak half breed.” Kagome picked him up by his throat and slammed him into the trunk of the nearest tree. “For once you will listen to what I have to say.”
Sango and Miroku said nothing as they watched their two best friends. They both knew that Kagome loved Inuyasha and only wanted him to pick one or the other. Kagome had told him that night that he would not pick between her and Kikyo. Kagome had finally made the choice for him when she went back to Edo and the bone eaters well.
Shippou knew that his mother had changed however he knew that she was angry at him for something he knew nothing about. Looking over at Miroku and Sango he could see that they were not going to do anything to stop her from hurting him. Taking a deep breath he went over to his mother.
“Momma, please put Inuyasha down.” Shippou was able to place a hand on her shoulder. “If you kill him you will regret it later.”
Kagome broke eye contact with Inuyasha and looked back at her son. She could tell that he wanted her to take a step back and calm her temper. Closing her eyes she dropped Inuyasha and turned her back to him. When she opened them she saw an arrow coming right at her.
Kagome quickly raised her barrier to protect not only herself but Shippou and Inuyasha as well. Her eyes flashed white as she watched as Kikyo took another arrow and notched it. She didn’t know how the damn bitch came back but she would make sure she never survived this time. Kagome cracked her knuckles as she took a step towards her. Inuyasha placed a hand on Kagome’s shoulder. Kagome whirled around and glared at him.
“I-I’ll....” Inuyasha took a breathe as he looked over to Kikyo. “I’ll deal with her Kagome.”
Everyone was shocked as they watched Inuyasha pulled Tetsaiga and ran towards Inuyasha. Kikyo was caught off guard that Inuyasha would attack her that she did not have time to protect herself. Inuyasha was able to slice through her clay body with out even making Tetsaiga transform.
Kagome was the one that was completely shocked. Here she came back intent on being mad at him then he goes and kills the one who was the only thing holding them back from a relationship. She looked over at Shippou and noticed that his eyes were wide in shock along with Sango and Miroku.
Inuyasha turned around and looked at Kagome. He sheathed the sword and walked up to her and took her hand. He kept his eyes on her as he knelt down in front of her. Kagome’s heart started to beat faster and faster.
“Inuyasha what do....”
“Please Kagome let me speak.” Inuyasha pleaded with her. Kagome was taken back by the request that she just nodded dumbly. Inuyasha took a deep breathe.
“I want to tell you that I, Inuyasha Tashio, the second son of Inu-No-Tashio pledge myself to protect you til the time you find me unfit. I will stay by you and only you from this time forward. Kagome, I know that I have screwed up because I couldn’t pick between you and Kikyo but now I know that it should have been very easy for me to choose.”
“What do you mean Inuyasha?” Kagome frowned as she took in what he had just told her. “That I am just a replacement for Kikyo.” Inuyasha shook his head as he stood to look at her in the eyes.
“No, you are not her replacement.” Inuyasha let his left hand caress her cheek. “When she told us that you were dead....... I almost lost it to my demon blood. I had to sleep with Tetsaiga tied to my side. I believe that my demon half believed that she was responsible even though I didn’t. When she was around all I wanted to do was kill her.”
Inuyasha took a deep breathe. “I love you and I have finally realized that I have loved you since the first time that you released me from the spell that she put on me. You, Kagome Hiragurashi, are the only one that I want to make mine.” With that he pulled Kagome close to his body and lowered his mouth to hers.
Kagome was completely taken off guard as Inuyasha took her lips with his. How long did she wish that he would tell her what he had just said? Days? Months? Years? Did she want to let him in her heart again when she only pushed him out? When her arms snaked around his neck she knew her answer. Yes. She still loved him even with everything he had put her through.
