InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Kidnappers Kiss ❯ Broken ( Chapter 11 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Well I am very much in a good mood and decided to write another chapter! Sorry to disappoint you guys about the other chapter. Look on the bright side though. There is still a chance for a happy ending. Not the last chapter yet! Very close to it though, I must admit. Could be only one more chapter after this one. You must wait and then you will see.

Now I must tell you why I am in a good mood before I start. (You guys probably don't even read the Author notes anyway.) Well I made the musical I tried out for and I get to see what part I got tomorrow AND my big bubby is getting married! ^ ^

Anyway here's your chapter.

Kidnapper's Kiss
Chapter Eleven:
Broken

Golden drops of sun poured into the room, and Kagome's chocolate hues flickered open slowly. “Inuyasha?” She muttered sleepily. Panic quickly swept over her as memories of the night before flooded back to her. She looked around quickly, only to recognize these surroundings as her own room. “That idiot!” She yelled, sitting up quickly. “He didn't let me say goodbye…” Her voice came out as a hoarse whisper, as she tried to hold back the threatening tears.

“Kagome?” She heard her mother's ever-sweet voice. Then before she knew it, her mother barged into her room, waving a piece of paper with something written on it in the air. “He brought you back, my sweet little baby girl!” Miss Higurashi literally tackled poor Kagome into a hug, but she immediately returned the warm embrace.

“Sis? Sis!” Her brother jumped into the hug, and they all turned as they heard cheerful laughter. There was gramps, leaning against the doorframe, whipping away a few of his own tears.

“I have to go call the police station to see if he is there.” Her mother said, quickly rushing down the stairs to use the phone. Gramps gave her a hug and said they would all talk later, as Souta went back to playing his video games. Strangely she imagined their reunion would be longer and happier. If it was even possible for her to be happy right now…

Shifting her gaze around the room, she noticed her mother had left the note lying next to her on the bed. She picked it up and started reading the sloppy handwriting. She felt a few warm tears roll down her soft cheeks. It was what Inuyasha had written to her mother.

People getting kidnapped happened all the time. It was a pretty common thing. Lots of the time the girls didn't come back alive, and if they did they were strange and so paranoid it hurt to watch them. They were scared of every man who made a strange move. To scared to leave their houses without protection. Luckily Kagome was alive and `perfectly fine'…She wished.

Days passed and Kagome got worse and worse. Every passing moment she thought of the hanyou. She begged her mother to let her go visit him when it was time for visiting hours every Saturday. Her mother refused to let her go though. “No,” She would say. “You don't need to see him.” Oh, but how she did need to see him. She was being torn apart inside. She missed him so much, and the fact that she didn't even get to tell him goodbye or how she really felt about him, made it hurt so much worse.

Soon Sango came to visit with Hojou and Hojou did as he usually did. He asked her out on a date. She tossed him a icy glare, and narrowed her chocolate hues. “What makes you think I want to go out on a date with a fucking pansy like you?!” She yelled at him, and just as she finished she clapped a hand over her mouth. Sango and Hojou just stared at her wide-eyed.

She had sounded so much like him at that very moment, like Inuyasha. Letting her hand fall to her side once again she tried to hold back the tears. It was too impossible though. “I-I'm sorry H-Hojou…” She stumbled through her words, wiping her tears away. He just nodded and made his way out of her house; his head hung the whole time. Sango watched him go and shook her head.

“What in the hell was that about?” Sango asked firmly. “That wasn't nice, not at all. Not even if you did apologize. Something like that hurts. Why did you say it?” Sango sat down on Kagome's bed and the younger girl sat down beside her. There was a long pause and Sango didn't think she was going to answer, so she asked again. “Why did you say that to him, Kagome?”

Kagome looked up, and Sango could see all the sadness, anger, and depression in her eyes. “I don't like him like that. I know that's still not a reason to say things like that, but I can't imagine myself with anyone else but…him.” Sango gave her a strange look.

“Who's him?” Sango asked, getting a bit concerned. Maybe she met someone when she was with that killer guy? Sango asked in her head. Very possible…but if not…I wonder who it could possibly be. I have never seen poor Kagome like this. She looks awful, and by the way she acts I think she feels just as bad as she looks at the moment. Sango looked her friend over. Her cheeks were red and tear stained and it looked like she hadn't ever used a brush in her life. A-

“Sango…I fell in love with a murderer, whom I will probably never see again in my life.” Kagome said, letting her head fall. “I didn't even get to say goodbye to him…or tell him how I actually feel and mama won't let me go visit him.” More tears found their way down her cheeks. “It's so unfair…”
Sango looked at her friend sadly. “Oh Kagome…” She whispered slipping her arms around the younger girl. Kagome buried her face into Sango's shoulder and started to sob. “Shh…Kagome, it's gonna be okay. Don't worry. Shh…” Sango rocked her friend back and forth until the young girl sat up again and told her all about what had happened with her and Inuyasha.

“He's so much to me…and I realize this after he is gone. Every time he hugged me I felt like I belonged in his arms. I felt so warm and safe with him. I don't know how though…that doesn't even seem to make sense does it? He I s a killer and I feel safe around him.”

“Kagome…the way you say he was towards you, I doubt he would ever hurt you, and if so not on purpose. He probably feels the same way you feel about him.” Sango said with the warmest smile, she could possibly fake. Her friend was in pain, which meant she was too…

`Kagome' and `Kagome' that was all that was craved into the hard wall. That was all he had been doing since he got back her. Carving her name into his cell wall. If he hadn't met her this wouldn't have been so bad. He would be fine. But he wanted out so bad, just so he could see her. He doubted he would ever see the outside world again, let alone her.

“Inuyasha?” Came a crackly voice from across the hall. “Are you okay? You haven't said a word since you got back. Did something happen while you were gone?” Inuyasha sighed, and wondered how to answer the man's question.

“Yeah,” The hanyou answered truthfully. “I uh…I fell in love, believe it or not. And here's the funny thing. I fell in love with the girl I kidnapped. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me. She was sweet, and honest…she even stood up to me. Can you believe that?” The only reason he was actually telling these things to someone was because he was never going to see her again anyway, so it was impossible for him to embarrass himself.

“You poor boy…” The man said. “You must be hurting inside.” Well that was obvious.

Inuyasha struggled to find a word that would suit how he felt at the moment. Finally he found one that fit perfectly. “I feel broken without her in my arms, or by my side. I didn't realize how lonely I was until I met her…”
