Kidnapper's Kiss
Chapter Twelve:
Visiting Hours

“Inuyasha!” Kagome called into the darkness of the room. She had no idea where she was. All the lights were off and all she could see around her was darkness. She was lost and scared. She needed Inuyasha.

“…”

He didn't answer. “Inuyasha, where are you?” She called. “I need you…” She fell to her knees and began to sob. “You actually left me…” She cried into he room.

The dream Kagome had had a while back ran through her mind and she said softly, “He did leave me…” It didn't seem as anything was ever going to go right in her life again. There was no Inuyasha there was no happiness. She hadn't eaten in three days, and all she wore was black. Her mother thought it was just some strange phase her daughter was going through. Little did she know, her daughter cried herself to sleep every night thinking of Inuyasha…

“Kagome, honey, Sango is here.” Her mother called up the stairs. Kagome sighed and pulled on a pair of black jeans and a black jacket. She walked down her stairs, in search of shoes and when she finally found them she walked out side and sat down on the porch swing with her older friend. She gave a small `hi' and began to put on her tennis shoes.

“Tell your mom you're spending the night with me.” Sango said, grinning. She obviously had something planned, but Kagome just shrugged and thought nothing of it. She nodded with a small. Maybe a night away from home would be good? Though she had spent many nights away from home when she was with Inuyasha…

“Mama!” She called for her mother, and after a short wait her mother arrived at the door. “Can I spend the night with Sango?” She asked, with a puppy dogface. Her mother grinned and nodded.

“Yes, go get your things.” Kagome thanked, and hugged her before they left Sango alone on the porch. Kagome gathered some clothes and sleeping bag and made her way back down to where Sango was. Sango took her sleeping back and put it in the back seat of her black car. Kagome did the same with her clothes, and sat in the passenger's side of Sango's car.

Sango got in, slammed the door, and they were off. Kagome stared out the window for a long time, and finally realized they weren't going the right way to Sango's house… A thought hit Kagome and she looked over to her friend. “What say is it Sango?”

“Saturday.”

“What time is it?”

“11:45.”

“You're taking me to the jail!” Kagome squealed. “Aren't visiting hours 12-1?” Sango nodded with a wide grin and they almost had a wreck as Kagome through her arms around the older girl. Soon they arrived and Sango parked. They walked up to a large door and pressed a button. “We are here to visit Inuyasha Takeda.” She said into the thing.

She let go of the button and it made a buzzing sort of noise before a man's voice came over it and said, “Please come in.” POP! The door unlocked and the two girls stepped in. The sat in the waiting room for what seemed like forever until one of the police officers came in.

“We only take one at a time.” He said and Sango pushed Kagome forward. “Hey…aren't you that girl that Inuyasha kidnapped?” Kagome nodded meekly, and the man sighed. “Well…come this way.” He led her into a long narrow room. There were people sitting on stools and holding phones to their ears. They were talking to the prisoners. Finally he led her to an empty seat and left.

There sat Inuyasha, his head bowed. The only thing separating them was a little glass window. She tapped on it, so he knew she was there. He didn't lift his head but he did take the phone and put it to his ear. She did the same.

“Inuyasha…look at me.” She said softly, into the phone. He didn't move. “Please?”

“No…” He answered hoarsely. “What are you doing here? I let you go home, I let you keep your money, and I came back here.”

“I-I-Inuyasha…” She muttered helplessly into the phone, ignoring what he had said. She was crying now, and he knew that but he refused to look at her. “L-Look at me.” She said as firmly as she could manage.

“I can't…”

“Look at me…”

“I can't, damn it!” He growled angrily.

“Why not?” More and more tears found their way down her cheeks. “Why can't you look at me? What did I do?”

“Kagome…go home…” He said softly. “You don't want to see me.”

“But I do, Inuyasha…I love you…” She finally let those words slip from his mouth, and he raised his head to look at her. He gave her a sad smile.

“Kagome…no…you don't love me. You just think you do. Go home. I'm sure someone as gorgeous and wonderful as you has plenty of guys chasing after them.”

“I don't love any of them.” She said angrily, more tears now. She hated crying like this in front of him. She slammed the phone against the thing on the wall and stormed out. He put the phone back and buried his face in his hands. He raised his head again as there was a loud knock on the window. He found himself staring into the face of the an angry girl. The one he had met when he kidnapped Kagome.

She picked up the phone and he did the same. “What in the hell did you do to her?!” She literally screamed into the phone, making him wince.

“She can't love me,” He answered after a while. “I am never going to get out of here. The only time she would be able to see me is every Saturday twelve through one.”

“You love her, don't you?” Sango, asked in a softer tone.

Inuyasha nodded, with a sigh. “God yes…will all my heart.” Sango gave him a soft look and shook her head.

“Then that shouldn't matter…” She placed the phone back on the wall a little softer than Kagome had and left him all alone. Soon an officer came and led him back to his cell. He sat down and wrote Kagome a long letter, planning to mail it the next day. He put it under his pillow, and fell into an uneasy sleep.
