Chapter 5:

In the slayers village.

Hotohori and his brother were discussing the situation at hand. "Something is not right … Mamoru is smarter then this. He would have tried to get his son and Kagome together." Tasuki sighed and replied "perhaps he is respecting your decision to keep Kagome out of this."

"Or maybe he hopes to have them met at the battle sight."

Tasuki then yelled in anger and frustration. "You fool don't you see that Naraku can destroy us all and yet you put your own fears above that of your clan of the world!"

"Kagome is my world! My only child I will not have her go to her death!"

"Hotohori don't you see she may be our only hope."

"NO!" he said and left the hut in anger.

TRAINING DAY BEGINS:

Inuyasha stretched preparing for training. "Well I guess now I get to see what you're really made of." He smirked wickedly. "Don't worry love I'll go easy on you." Kagome smirked back at him.

"Now, now children this is serious we must combine our strength to defeat Naraku." Miroku was seated on a large rock with Sango a few feet away from inuyasha and Kagome. "Okay now Kagome I want you to attack inuyasha and deliberately try to hurt him."

"Okay."

Kagome charged with her sward and inuyasha dogged all her attacks. "No Kagome! … You must be for real." Yelled Sango. {Dam that wasn't real … I wonder} inuyasha thought. So they tried again and again Kagome wasn't putting her heart into it.

"Ok, ok I have an idea." Sango stood and whispered something knowing full well that inuyasha would hear her. She then attacked inuyasha and they were sparing for a good minute before she knocked him down and threw her big weapon at him. That's when Kagome ran and stood in front of inuyasha her eyes glowed ice blue and a shield appeared and reversed the weapon back to Sango who caught it easily.

{What the hell} inuyasha thought as he got up. "Kagome?" he whispered but Kagome's attentions were else where. "Sango you deliberately tried to hurt him!" Sango stood proud. "And you defended him with all your heart."

Miroku then stepped between the two. "Kagome Sango was just trying to get you to be serious." Inuyasha put his arms around her chest from behind. "Besides did you really think I would let Sango beat me." She turned her head enough to look into his eyes. "You planed that?" he kissed her lips briefly then smirked. "Are you ready to fight now?"

"Ready to kill!" she turned and pushed him away. Thus the REAL training began.

IN THE WEASTERN LANDS:

Mamoru thought day and night trying to find ways to help his son. He didn't want his son to die but he also would not stand in the way of his destiny. "Father Myoga has returned and says that Totosie will see you."

(Somebody let me know if I spelled that right.)

"Good there is still hope." He said as he left in a hurry. "I shall return in 3 days be ready to go to the slayers village once I return." He called back to his son before he disappeared.

2 WEEKS LATER:

Lord Mamoru and Sesshomeru made their appearance in the slayer village. Tasuki and Hotohori were surprised to see them. "Lord Mamoru it is an honor." Tasuki bowed. "Please that is not necessary between old friends." Mamoru and Tasuki laughed.

Mamoru motioned to his son. "This is my son - " he began only to be cut off by Hotohori. "So you are here for Kagome!" he yelled to Sesshomeru. "Brother!" Tasuki yelled

"No it's okay" Mamoru spoke. "Keades vision will come to pass with or without your will."

"So then this is the son from her vision?" Tasuki asked. "NO this is my eldest son Sesshomeru."

"What is your game Mamoru? Why did you not bring your youngest?" Hotohori was confused he had thought for sure it was a trick.

At this moment inuyasha, Miroku and the girls came in from another hard day of training. "Inuyasha look." He pointed to the men talking in front of Tasukis hut. "Who's that?" Sango asked. "Father" inuyasha whispered and Kagome looked up at him a bit surprised.

"Perhaps we should go inside and discus…" Tasuki looked to the side and noticed his daughter coming towards them. "Oh look just in time." The four walked to were they're all at. "Lord Mamoru, Sesshomeru I'd like you to met my daughter Sango and this is…" Hotohori cut in "Kagome I would like you to go in side please."

Mamoru and Sesshomeru gave one another a brief look. "Yes father" Kagome looked to inuyasha before she did as she was told. "Mamoru you know as well as I do that if your son and my daughter never met then keades vision will never come to pass."

Inuyasha looked confused. "Keades vision? What vision?" he asked. Sesshomeru was the one to answer him. "Inuyasha there is much you don't know about the conflicted between them two."

"There is no conflicted! My daughter will not be in the fight against Naraku. I will not loss her like I lost her mother!"

"What is going on here I don't understand." Inuyasha was hopelessly confused. And he wasn't the only one.

"Hotohori you say your daughter is not involved why then did you let inuyasha and I train her?" Miroku needed to understand as well. "She will defend her people and herself but I will not have her go against Naraku personally because some old witch says she and the youngest son of Mamoru are the ones who will destroy him."

Everyone who didn't know the situation was taken back especially inuyasha. He looked to his father. "Father is this true is what he spoke the truth?"

Hotohori was the one to be shocked this time. "Did you just say father?" he asked inuyasha. Inuyasha looked guilty eyes towards Kagome's father. "You tricked me! … You bastard!" Hotohori ran inside the hut and garbed Kagome by the wrists dragging her out. "Father what is going on?"

She knew nothing about what was going on. Mamoru tried once more to make him see, "it is fate. There destiny. You can not run from it." Hotohori just gave a look that could kill then proceeded to drag Kagome off. Inuyasha moved to stop them when Mamoru put a hand to his shoulder. Inuyasha then forcibly garbed him. "Tell me everything now father."

Mamoru, Sesshomeru, Tasuki, Miroku, Sango and inuyasha went inside the hut where everything was then explained to them. By the time they were done inuyasha was angry that his father had lied to him and most of all angry at the vision. It was one thing for inuyasha to die but Kagome no she must live.

Inuyasha stood but before he could leave Mamoru asked a question. "Son there is something I want to ask you." He nodded "Kagome her sent is all over you. This is not the first time you have met her." Inuyasha turned and started to walk out. "I met her on my first hunt when I was 10 we have always loved each other from that moment on." He said as he walked out.

{So there was no need for this plan.} Mamoru thought. "Well father what do we do know?" Mamoru knew if he didn't act fast that Hotohori would find a way to get Kagome away from everything.

Inuyasha walked in the dark till he came across Kagome and her fathers hut. {Should I go in} he questioned himself. {What would I say?}

Inside the hut Kagome and her father were having a talk. Well more like he was talking and she was listening. "How dare he think to trick me." Kagome served him his food. "Luckily that dammed son of his" Kagome slamming her hands to the table cut him off. "Kagome?"

"That is enough! I may not know everything that is going on but I do know this … inuyasha is a good and kind man with a loving heart!"

Hotohori looked disbelievingly upon his daughter. Then his anger once again came back. "You haven't known him long enough to know that!" Kagome stood up from her seat. "Your wrong!" Hotohori stood as well. "Wrong?"

"I have known him for 6 years now. And I love him father!" Hotohori took a step back. "NO! I forbid it!"

"Forbid love father?"

"You are not to see him ever again!"

"I LOVE HIM!"

She ran out the hut and bumped right into inuyasha who heard everything of course. She looked up at him with unshed tears. "Kagome." He hugged her close.

"Kagome you get back here!" Hotohori yelled as he followed after her and stoped dead in his tracks when he saw inuyasha-holding Kagome. "You stay away from Kagome!" he went to grab at her and inuyasha took a defensive stand in front of her.

"You mean to fight me boy?" inuyasha really didn't want to fight Kagome's father, but something in him was screaming that this man was trying to take what was his away from him. His demon side absolutely refused to let that happen.

"Father stop this please." But neither one of them moved. "Step aside boy she is my child and will do as I say."

"Now, now Hotohori the girl is 16 she is old enough to chose her own path." Sesshomerus voice came from the clearing. Everyone's attentions redirected towards him and everyone else. "My son is right she is of age."

Hotohori felt as though everyone was ganging up on him. "Father I don't want to hurt you."

"Then leave with me know."

Kagome stepped out from behind inuyasha and for a second he thought she would go with him. "Kagome?" his voice was filled with fear. She turned to him and smiled. That was enough to calm him. "Father lord Mamoru and his son are right I am of age."

"But you are not yet married that makes you my responsibility!"

"She's my responsibility." Inuyasha cut in.

Hotohori looked to inuyasha and saw the fearce possessive protectiveness in them. "If inuyasha would have me I would gladly give myself to him." With those words said she turned to inuyasha and reached out for his hand. He looked to her hand then eyes. Such intensity between them he took her hand and pulled her close, embracing her as if they hadn't seen each other in days.

"Kagome I just want to see you safe." Her father said. "Honestly how long would I be safe with Naraku running loss."
