Legends2: The Plan2004
"Tomorrow. We move in, tomorrow night. She will be easy to kidnap because she doesn't even want to be at the Palace. Its so simple." Inuyasha walked around the shack many times as he thought out loud.
"Inuyasha-" Sango began.
"I'm sick of you saying this won't work. It will work."
Sango sighed, accepting her defeat. "Then lets get to bed, we've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow." Inuyasha nodded and curled up ready for sleep.
§¤~*~
Kagome hadn't slept very well all night. She kept waking up, at the oddest hours, with a sense that something was going to happen to her; and soon. She also began to think she had felt someone, or something, following her. However, after her 'crazy' dreams all night, she wrote it off as she was just being over-imaginative. At around seven Kagome was awake for the day. She walked to her closet for something to wear. It was suppose to be quite cool so she chose a navy blue, long-sleeved shirt that she had just bought last week. (Or rather she saw it in a catalog and had to send Miroku to buy it). She then looked for a choice in pants. Her father hated it when she wore jeans, believing she should act like a young woman and wear a skirt (at least floor length). Kagome pulled out a pair of cargo khaki's and threw them on her bed with the shirt.
Kagome walked over to her personal bathroom and started the shower water. As she undressed the room began to fill with a thick fog, indicating the water was plenty warm. She turned on the radio so she could listen to it in the shower. One of her favorite songs, Kuchibue ga Kikoeru*, was playing on the radio. Kagome smiled and stepped into the steaming shower. The scalding water assaulted her body as she idly played with her hair. Her arm had bruised, badly, as well as her cheek. Though, it seemed, he hit her eye more than her cheek, it was black and blue underneath it, leading to a visible swelling in her cheek. As for her arm, fingerprint shape black and blues were outlined on it. She didn't seem to care, no one would see her until she was 'fit for public' again anyway. At least they only hurt when the water pounded sharply on them, creating throbbing spurts of pain.
She went through the motions that she took every morning (well, nearly every morning, if she had enough time). She shampooed her hair, rinsed it out, conditioned, rinsed it out. Spread her Berry Blossom soap onto her Loufa (sp?) sponge and lathered her body, washed it off. Shaved her long, tan legs. And stood there, not wanting to leave the warmth of the water and the serenity of the morning. Kagome's dreams were briefly forgotten as were all her thoughts, as she went through her morning routine, not really thinking of anything.
"Kagome! Princess! Time to get out of the shower! Your Father is waiting for you!" Miroku hollered sweetly through the bedroom door, the noise barely carrying into the bathroom.
"Coming." she called half-heartedly.
Kagome reluctantly turned off the water, suddenly overcome with cold. She pulled back the shower curtain and stepped onto the tile floor, searching for a towel. "Fuck!"
"Princess?"
"Miroku sweetie!" she called in a cute tone.
"You need a towel don't you?"
"Yes please sweetie!" she could hear Miroku walking away and she smiled.
She didn't like Miroku cleaning her room, should he stumble upon something 'girly'. But the maid that was suppose to refill her towels had gotten fired two weeks ago and her father 'neglected' to tell one of the other chamber maids to take over Kagome's room. Kagome didn't mind doing her own laundry or her own towels, she just always forgot to bring the towels back up into her room. So, the maids in the laundry room would use them for other rooms. Kagome sighed as she waited. She knew Miroku went all the way down to the laundry room, which was practically in another time zone because the Palace was so huge, but he could have just gone to the next room and snagged one from that bathroom. She began brushing her hair as she switched stations on the radio. She stopped to put on an American CD Miroku had ordered for her on his Laptop. It was the Dave Matthews Band and she loved them. Currently she was listening to Crash but after this song, she had decided to put in Dave Matthews solo CD and listen to Gravedigger .
"Here you are Princess." Miroku knocked on the bathroom door.
"Don't think you are getting a free peak Hentai. Put the towel on the floor and walk away." Kagome laughed slightly and she heard Miroku repeat the action and do as she requested. She opened the bathroom door and grabbed the towel, quickly closing the door again.
Finally finished with her routine, hair brushed, clothes on, she opened her bedroom door. Miroku was no longer in sight and she sighed as she walked down to breakfast. She knew her father was going to be mad, he didn't like to have to wait for her (but it was in his 'traditional' blood to not eat until all members of the family were present).
"Morning Majesty. Souta." she sat down at the prepared place and waited for Lacey to bring the breakfast.
"You are ridiculously tardy. I will add an hour to your laps today-"
"Majesty!"
"Don't argue with me or it will be two! I am tired of your," he thought before speaking, "I am tired of your attitude and I will not accept it under this roof!"
"Yes Sir." Kagome ate her oatmeal lackadaisically. She knew that when her father went off to do whatever it is he does and Souta went off to play for the day she would simply go into the Kitchens and bug Lacey for real food.
"Also, Kaede is coming by later, she will be working on your training some more. I saw her let you off early yesterday." Kagome couldn't take that.
"Sir, running for two hours around the castle, and my training? Isn't that a bit over doing it?"
"Do you dare to question my authority?" The Kings tone was getting threatening.
"No Sir." Kagome whispered.
"What was that?" he held a hand to his ear as though to hear her better.
"No Sir." Kagome spoke loudly and clearly.
"That is what I thought." he continued eating his breakfast (which was not the pathetic oatmeal Kagome ate but rather bacon, eggs, and toast).
"May I be excused? I would like to start early so I am not running till dusk."
"Yes you may. Souta, son, more sausage?" he asked as Kagome stood up from the table. She scoffed and, though she was pretty sure the King heard her, he ignored it.
Kagome walked into the kitchen and smiled at Lacey who had a plate prepared. "Hey Lacey."
"Morning Princess. How are you?" she said cheerily.
Kagome rolled her eyes and laughed, that was answer enough for both of them. "Lets see, toast oh an omelet! You rock! Sausage? Yuck, you know I'm a vegetarian Lacey."
"Thought I'd try miss. You don't get enough protein. You are wasting away, look at you. You weigh what? Ninety pounds?" she laughed, slightly exaggerating Kagome's weight.
"I weigh one fifteen thank you very much!" Kagome said as she ate a piece of toast. "But I'm still too fat for the King. I'll never be good enough to be his daughter." Kagome sat on the counter and swung her feet absent-mindedly.
"The King is a bastard." she looked around quick to assure no one was listening. "At least I think so." she smiled. "You are not fat Princess."
"I know that!" Kagome said, taking a bite of the omelet (which had her favorite cheese, green peppers, and onions).
"And what do you mean you are a vegetarian? You eat fish and chicken."
"Well . . . technically vegetarians are allowed to eat those. I just don't like eating . . . fat. Yuck." Kagome shook her head and took another bite of her breakfast. "I should start running. The King added another hour to my laps this morning."
"Two hours of running? Dear you will die of exhaustion." Lacey said with a concerned tone. She ran to the refrigerator and pulled out a giant bottle of water. "Here, carry this with you."
"Thanks Lacey." she hugged the cook and smiled, "You rock!" she took the water and walked back up to her room. She knew she had to run this morning but didn't think of that when she was taking a shower.
"I'll just have to take two." she said out loud. She put on her jogging clothes (she didn't want to eat breakfast in those). The tank top, which was really more of a training bra, showed most of her midriff and the shorts might as well have been a bathing suit bottom. She didn't want to wear her sweats though because she knew she'd get way too hot, way too fast. Practically freezing to death she stepped outside into the cold, crisp air. "I wish the weather would make up its mind." she said out loud.
She sat down at the bottom of the stairs and stretched out her tired limbs. Yawning unwillingly she stood up to stretch her back and sides.
"I hate you." Miroku said. Kagome looked at him and noticed he was dressed in his jogging gear as well.
"What did I do?" she asked, standing straight up (since she was in a backward bridge position).
"The King knew I went with you for Fraps yesterday, he said the guards saw me coming back with you afterward. So now, I get to run for an hour!" Kagome smiled slightly. She felt bad that she had gotten Miroku in trouble but at least now she would have someone to run with for half the time.
"Come on." she smiled and they began running.
Kagome stopped, one hour had gone by and she knew she was going to die. Though she walked when she got really tired the guards always watched her and she could never stop, not for two hours.
"Well . . . . . . . Kagome . . . . . . have . . . . . . fun" Miroku stop talking, still breathing very heavily. He wasn't used to running around the castle, though you could only get two laps in during one hour. "I'm . . . . . . going . . . . . . to go . . . . . . die now." Kagome smiled as the very tired monk in training (did we mention he was a Monk in training?) walked up the stairs and disappeared behind the castle doors.
"Princess, more water?" Lacey came down with another huge water bottle.
"Thanks." Kagome said quickly as she drank almost the whole bottle. She sat down, preparing to stretch for her second set of laps. Her legs were killing her and she didn't think she was going to make it through another hour of running. Lacey sat and talked with her while she stretched, until she got called back by the King himself looking for a snack.
Inuyasha, who had been watching her again all morning, noticed how tired she was and wanted to hurt the King for making her run for two hours around the huge Castle. "I'd like to see him get his fat ass out here and run." Inuyasha said to Sango.
"Shhhhh! Someone will hear you!" she hit him on the arm and he ignored her.
"Those bruises don't look like they're getting any better. The mixture of her hot body," Sango gave him a look, "from running baka! The mixture of her hot body and the cold air out here is going to give her pneumonia. Is her father that moronic?"
"Yes." Sango quickly bit her tongue. To think, she almost spoke ill of the King in public.
"I think I'm rubbing off on you Sango. Come on, lets go somewhere else for a while, I can't stand to see her looking so tired."
Kagome ran as hard as she could, she only had five minutes left. She could do it. This wasn't the first time she had to run two hours, but every time she passed out after the first hour. She was stronger now and could run the whole two hours, she knew it. She glanced at her wrist watch and noted two minutes. She felt a new burst of energy and she ran. Finally she neared the front of the castle, she looked at her watch . . . five, four, three, two, one. She had run for two hours and her father could have nothing to complain about. She smiled to herself and chugged the rest of the water she had (which was really more like a sip). She walked up to the castle and up to her room, collapsing on her bed.
"Kagome!" Miroku knocked animatedly on her door. "Kagome!" he opened the door to see her sleeping soundly on her bed. He walked over to her and shook her gently, "Kagome, Kaede is here for your training. Wake up before the King has to come in for you."
Kagome yawned and looked at Miroku. It was almost two in the afternoon. "Miroku?"
"You slept through lunch. Luckily he doesn't mind what time everyone eats lunch or you'd be done for. But Kaede is here, you need to get dressed." Kagome nodded and sat up. She grabbed the clothes she was wearing earlier off her floor and shooed Miroku away so she could dress for training.

"I recognize her! Sango, isn't that Kaede? She was my Father's Advisor before he was- I just know its her."
"I do think it is. You are right. Seems she went to the other side rather than serve our nasty King."
"Feh. I would too. I'm glad I was banished. I'd rather live under King Elron than King Emmanuel any day! Stupid wolf!" Inuyasha grumbled. Sango shook her head but didn't say anything. She knew that he had reasons to hate the whole wolf clan and she didn't agree with them either.
"Kagome is back." Inuyasha said as he noticed the girl coming out of the castle, looking thoroughly exhausted.
"Child? What have you done to yourself?"
"Had to-" she stopped to yawn, "Run. Two hours." she yawned again.
"Dear. Well, we'll go easy today. Lets review everything you know about archery."
§¤*~
"Good night Kagome. Rest yourself child." Kaede said as Kagome walked back into the castle. Kagome just waved and walked to her room, without dinner.
She collapsed, for the second time that day, on her bed and fell easily to sleep.
"Now's our chance."
Taaaa Daaa! has anyone noticed I get off on tangents easier than like anyone in the world haha ^_^ OKay anyway, love you guys!
Decided against rehashing from Inu's POV. Sorry ^_^
Oh yes as for the * That song is Kuchibue ga Kikoeru (I Hear a Whistle) which is a 'Hiei Song' on my Yuu Yuu Hakusho collective rare trax CD. Rock on!
Oh dang! I've been forgetting my disclaimers. *nervous chuckle* All I own is some Manga and some DVDS and Wall scrolls and CDs, but unfortunately the great Inuyasha (and company) belongs to the amazing Rumiko Takahashi. *sigh* ^_^
