Legends6: Fake Smiles of Rapture and Joy2004
Kagome saw the castle gate ahead, she smiled to herself, her outside expression showing the fury that she was about to unleash on one arrogant hanyou. She ran up to the gate and waved to the guard. "Hey!" she said with a chipper tone, despite all the darkness she felt.
"Princess!" he opened the gate and ran over to hug her. "We've been missing you so much!"
"I missed you guys too!"
"How did you get back here? Is everything all right? Who are your attackers? I'll hunt them down."
"Calm down Simon. They let me go. You don't have to hurt them, and I'm fine. Don't worry." Kagome smiled and ran up to her home.
"Kagome?" Miroku asked as he was polishing the grandfather clock, tiny arms encircled him.
"Hey!" Kagome said brightly, releasing the man.
"Kagome!" sure he had just seen her the night before, but it made it so much better to see her in her home. "So how is Inuyasha? Is mission -"
"No. I hate that stupid arrogant . . . self-absorbed . . . baka . . . bastard . . . p-p-prick." Kagome began crying angrily at herself. She didn't hate him, she just didn't know why he had gotten so mad and why he had taken advantage of her. *Because you practically threw yourself on him.* her mind answered.
"It's okay. Tell me what happened." Miroku carried Kagome to her room, knowing she would feel more comfortable in her own room.
"Inuyasha . . . he . . . and I . . . we . . . " another fit of sobs caused her to cling to Miroku for dear life. Kagome rocked back and forth trying to calm herself. He gently rubbed her back and whispered 'Shh' and 'it'll be all right'. Kagome found a voice, though she wasn't sure it was hers because it was sad and angry and not at all cheery like hers was. With this new found voice she told Miroku everything.

"How could you do that to her Inuyasha! Baka!" Sango hit her friend upside the head. "You took her virginity and then you kick her out saying it was a mistake!? You can't do that to a girl! I am surprised she left you in one piece!" Sango yelled angrily, trying to figure out where her baka friend got the nerve to do the stupid things he did.
"She wouldn't have left if she didn't hate me." he replied calmly. "I told her it was a mistake, and I told her I hated her so she would hate me. I didn't want her pity, and I surely didn't want her to get all her rich snotty friends involved. I wanted her to live the life she deserves, happy. She can find that in the palace, with her friend Miroku and the Prince."
"DO YOU NOT LISTEN TO A WORD PEOPLE SAY TO YOU!?" Sango screamed, hitting him upside the head again, "She hates Kouga! She would rather marry a toad than marry Kouga! Miroku is her only friend in the whole world, and he is like a brother to her, more than her brother will ever be. You were her friend too until you had to go and be a baka and fuck everything up." Inuyasha took the time to cower, as he noticed Sango swore, which was something she never did. "She said she wanted to be with you! She was going to go to the castle and become Queen so she could choose to be with you. She didn't want to marry Kouga because she wanted to be with you! Are you that thick?!" Sango paused to take a breath before continuing her vicious onslaught. Inuyasha pushed his ears to his skull and braced himself for another verbal frenzy. "She was happy here! With us! Now you had to go and fuck it all up! Kouga is a demon Inuyasha, do you know what he is going to do when he realizes that Kagome has already been taken? He is going to find you and fry your ass! You think the Western Lands hate us now? You wait. Then there is Kagome's father, he might not give a flying fuck what you did to Kagome, but he will care that Kouga doesn't want his precious alliance anymore. He will fry you too! We'll have to leave Japan!"
"I NEVER TOLD YOU TO STAY WITH ME! I NEVER TOLD YOU TO BE MY FRIEND!" Inuyasha stood up, his body shaking with anger. His claws were digging into the palms of his hands, trying hard not to hit one of his only friends.
"But I want to Inuyasha." Sango's voice was immediately soft and kind again, "Friends stick by each other no matter what. Together. I'll always be your friend, and I'll always be by your side." Sango placed a comforting arm on Inuyasha's shoulder. He relaxed almost instantly and she continued speaking, "But you can't hide from your feelings and you can't be so god damn proud. You have to learn to trust and to love. You're the biggest baka in the world. But I love you." she rested her head on his shoulder and he released a long deep breath.
"Sango. . . you are like a sister to me . . . you mean more than anything. Shippo, Rin and Sess too. But Sess is obligated, therefore Rin is, and Shippo just likes Rin. You are the only one who truly could leave any time you wanted and yet you stay with me. Sango . . . I do trust, not often, and I do love, not much. But I love you." Sango smiled to herself and to him. She knew that he had always loved her like a sister, but he had never said it out loud. "There is one more thing I have to say before we go . . . " Sango gave him a confused look, but didn't interrupt him, "I think . . . I think I love Princess Kagome."

"Miroku?" Kagome questioned, opening her eyes slowly.
"Hey, your up. I have food for you." Miroku smiled and brought over a tray of ramen. Kagome cringed at the thought, but ate it anyway. "Here, this too." he placed a Frappacino on the tray.
"You rock."
"Don't I?" Miroku laughed.
"Miroku!" Kagome dropped her fork and stared wide-eyed at Miroku, "Kouga is a demon. He'll know that . . . well about . . . In . . . "
"It's okay. We'll figure out something." Kagome had told him the whole story, but he didn't care that she was now 'tainted'. He wasn't a demon and didn't hold the same beliefs. But Kouga, what would he do?
"Princess!" a loud voice echoed through the room. "Prince Kouga is here." Kagome shooed Miroku away and dressed. She wore a long black, silk dress, with criss-cross straps and a slit on one side, up to the thigh.
"Kouga!" she smiled as wide as she could, trying to 'be happy'.
"My dear Princess Kag-" he sniffed inconspicuously, "ome." he recovered quickly. Kagome however, noticed his brief pause and began to shift uncomfortably. "Would you like to accompany me to the foyer?" Kagome just nodded and followed Kouga.
"Kagome. You, have had another." he didn't look at her as he spoke.
"Yes." she managed feebly.
"I thought maybe one day, you would grow to love me. But now I see. How could you think -" he took a breath, he seemed to be holding back his tears. "How could you think, that just because you lost your virginity to some mutt, that I wouldn't still want you." Kagome's eyes grew wide.
"What? You think that I did this just so that you didn't want me?"
"Of course. It is so obvious. The fake kidnapping. The . . . scent. Oh yes, it is obvious this was all a ploy. But I will have none of that. You will be my wife! My Queen! And you will walk behind me for the rest of your life!" as soon as his yelling was through he slammed the door to the foyer and he was gone.
Kagome stood baffled for a moment before she realized that she was still standing in the foyer and had to get back the throne room where her father was, no doubt, waiting to plan the wedding.
Kagome made it back to her father just as King Emmanuel arrived. She cringed at the thought of actually having to marry Kouga, but, it was the only way. If all went well, she would be able to marry Kouga, her and Kouga would rule both lands, then she could kill him (not many people liked him, so it would be easy to say it was a rebel). Once Kouga was out of the way, nothing would stop her from ruling the land the way she wanted. The insane urge to get married right away coursed through her veins as she thought of all the things she could do. A soft 'ahem' from King Emmanuel jolted her system. She composed herself and made her way over to King Emmanuel.
"Hello Princess Kagome." she graciously extended her hand to him, as was the proper way. He took it and kissed the back of her hand. He also took a small sniff, much like his son had previously. Kouga gave him a hard look and he backed off, smiling ever sweetly. "It is so nice to see that Kouga has finally fallen in love." Kagome simply smiled, not wanting to say anything nasty and lined with sarcasm.
"Yes Father. Now, we must plan the wedding." Kouga interjected.
"Of course, let King Elron and I handle it shall you." Kouga nodded and backed toward the door. Kagome followed him, knowing it wasn't her place to stay in the room with only the Kings.
"Kagome Princess, I would like to have a word with you. You may stay." King Emmanuel stated.
"Of course My Lord." she smiled and stopped backing toward the door. Kouga closed the door with a small snap, leaving Kagome with King Emmanuel and her Father.
"You have had another?" the statement was a question, but the King knew the answer.
"Kagome?" her Father asked, not quite knowing what was going on.
Kagome didn't speak. She knew that King Emmanuel could tell, so what was the sense in making things worse for herself. She stared at the floor, not very fascinated with the simple checkered pattern, but it was better than gazing into the cold eyes of either King before her.
"Answer me!" her Father boomed.
"Yes . . . " she wasn't sure she had answered, she thought she did.
"This is an outrage! I cannot believe you would disgrace my family further! How dare you call yourself my daughter?! How dare you do this to Higarashi family line?!"
"Majesty . . . if I may. Kagome has had a mutt. The same mutt that was banished nearly twenty years ago. She no doubt felt sorry for him. He must have been the one to kidnap her, at which point he no doubt raped her. It is all far too traumatic. She must not be punished for such a fate. We can only hope that she has learned her lesson about dallying with mutt's like Inuyasha." the name seemed to echo through the walls. Kagome didn't want to tell the truth about what happened, for fear that she would be punished. She instead played along with the King's horrible theory.
"Of course I've learned Majesties. I cannot believe I thought that I could somehow comfort that, arrogant, baka-a-a" the tears that were coming were real but she pretended they were for a different reason, "It is all so traumatic. Father, I am sorry I didn't tell you. I should have. I am sorry."
"Don't fret Kagome." Kagome was surprised to hear the kindness in her Father's words, but that wasn't what shocked her. What shocked her, was when she felt his large, oversized arms surround her tiny frame. "It isn't your fault . . . daughter."
