Chapter 6 * What Happens Next? *
Recap:
She walked up the stairs and was about to go into her room when she got a better idea and glimpsed inside of Kagome's room. What she saw made her scowl. `Inuyasha never held me like that.' Kikyo didn't like this at all. `It's time I came up with a plan.' Kikyo closed the door and walked over to her room.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ * ~
When Kikyo walked into her room, the first thing she did was grab her cell phone to make a call. She needed to make her plans and fast. She didn't what was going to happen between Inuyasha and Kagome. She needed to know.
“Hey, what are you doing tonight?” Kikyo wore an evil grin. She was certain that Inuyasha was going to stay for dinner because he was asleep in Kagome's bed with her.
“Nothing much, why?” The mysterious voice answered her.
“I need you to come by my place before six. My family is having dinner and I wanted to know if you would care to join us?” Kikyo asked flirtatiously to the voice.
“Sure, no prob. I'll be there.” With that she hung up the phone and sauntered to her closet and picked out an outfit to wear to dinner. (Why do girls change so often, can someone tell me that?) She then looked for a pair of shoes to go with her outfit. She slid into the pearly high heels that lit up whenever you walked. She looked at herself in the mirror and whistled lowly. 'No one could resist me with these on' Kikyo thought as she walked out of her room and snuck a look in Kagome's to see if they were still in there. She didn't see them. She made her way downstairs and walked into the dining room and saw Sota sitting at the table waiting for the food to come.
“Where's Kagome?” Kikyo asked innocently to the boy.
“She went with Inuyasha back up to the school because she left her car up there because Inuyasha needs to be home to eat dinner soon anyway.” Sota told his sister.
Kikyo tried to hide back a snarl because she thought wrong. (Ha! She actually invited him… I couldn't help it) Kikyo didn't want to put up with him tonight… She walked back up to her room and slammed the door shut and saved an evil glare for her cell phone. She picked up the evil thing and dialed the same number as before..
“Yea, you don't have to come anymore.. I didn't know my mom was going to be here so maybe another time?” Kikyo tried to act cool yet under her demeanor she was filled with fury at her sister and Inuyasha.
“Umm, thanks for letting me know, cause I was about to walk out the door.” The voice said with a hint of rejection in it. He looked down at his clothes and sighed. As soon as Kikyo heard what she considered a sigh she hung up the phone. ~*~*~*~*~ Inuyasha pulled into the school parking lot. He was a little hesitant at first about what to say to her. He truly was sorry for what happened to her during lunch. Kagome couldn't deal with the silence in the car, she was about to open the car door to leave when Inuyasha finally broke the silence to say something.
“Kagome, look I really am sorry about your eye and all. I really am, what can I do?” Inuyasha was actually looking directly in her eyes. Kagome could see it in his eyes that he really cared about her.
“Inuyasha, I…” She couldn't think of anything to say to him. The only thing she could muster from her lips were, “I think I'm gonna be fine, but thank you for the concern.” After that she slowly got out of the car and walked to her own. She pulled open her driver side and was about to get in the car when a strong pair of hands grabbed her own.
“Kagome,” Inuyasha started but when Kagome turned around to face him, he didn't finish his sentence for he planted his lips on hers for what began as a tender kiss. He didn't suspect that Kagome was going to change the angle of the kiss and what he thought of trying to ask for access. He was actually turned on that a girl was making the moves on him instead of the other way.
Kagome slowly pulled away from the warmth that was radiating from the both of them. `I don't want to get attached to any guys… but why do I always feel like I'm being pulled somehow' Kagome tried to focus on what she was doing before she was… `What was I doing?'
When Inuyasha pulled back and looked at Kagome, he smirked. He could see the puzzled look on her face when she tried to think of something. He pulled her against him again and kissed her again.
“You might want to be heading back home. You want me to follow you?” Inuyasha asked her.
“No, I'll be fine. I think I'm gonna head out now. I'll see you tomorrow.” Kagome climbed into her car and just sat in front of the wheel not doing anything. Inuyasha was getting worried he was about to get out of his car again when Kagome finally started her car. He could hear the stereo playing 'Enemy' by Sevendust. He smirked at her tasted in music. As Kagome pulled out of the school lot, Inuyasha followed suit shortly after. When they got to the next light, they went in two different directions.
As soon as Kagome got home she went directly to her room and plopped onto her bed. She shortly pulled her diary out of its hiding spot. She grabbed a pen from her nightstand and popped the lock and started writing in it.
Dear Diary, September 27, 2005
Hey, I can't believe what happened today. By the way I'm sorry I haven't written in you for a while I've been very busy with a school project and I think I like this guy that I'm working on. He's really cute he has silver hair which I find interesting because no other guy has hair like him except his older brother, Sesshomaru. Sometimes I think that they aren't normal people. But… today in school Inuyasha, that's his name, got into a fight with my ex., Kouga. Then me, stupid person that I am, I tried to stop the fight but ended up getting hurt in the process. Yea, the person who somehow always gets hurt. I got out of school early. Well, there's more. When he took me back to get my car from the school lot. I kissed well more like he kissed me but I wanted more. I was the one who made a move. I'm usually not like that. But I really think that I'm starting to like him more. Well I think that this is enough for one day. I'll try to write in you tomorrow but its not a promise.
Kagome locked her diary back up and got out of bed and put it back in its hiding spot where no one, not even her own twin could find. She walked back to her bed and pulled the covers down and climbed into bed. She pulled the covers over her head to try and block out everything.
When the sun rose the next morning so did Kagome. At first she tried to sleep longer but the suns rays coming through the window wouldn't allow it. She grumbled as she lost the warmth of the covers. She soon made her way to the bathroom and took a shower and changed into a pair of jeans and a tank top and brushed her teeth. On her way out to her car, she grabbed her blue sweater.
As she pulled into her spot, Sango and Miroku were waiting next to her car. Kagome sighed as she climbed out of her car and grabbed her books. She walked up to Sango ready of the question that was going to be asked.
“My god, Kagome what happened? Did Inuyasha do this to you? Where is he, I am going to kick his ass. He had no right….” Sango continued to ramble until Kagome decided enough was enough.
“Sango, no Inuyasha did not do this. Don't worry. It's been worked out. I already talk to him yesterday.” Flashbacking to yesterday caused her cheeks to turn a shade of red.
“Miss Kagome, what did you do to our Inuyasha yesterday?” Miroku winked at Kagome wishing he knew what exactly what happened between the two of them. Unexpectedly Inuyasha was walking right towards Kagome.
“Wow, she actually does own some real clothes.” Inuyasha did his famous side smirk. Kagome glanced up and tried to hide the blush that was creeping into her cheeks. ` Inuyasha's checking me out' Kagome couldn't hide it anymore so she told everybody that she needed to get to class cause the bell was about to ring, and she was right. She walked as fast as she could, she wanted as much time as it would allow. She didn't get much because Inuyasha walked in the room a few minutes after her and sat down next to her.
“So, what's going on?” Inuyasha asked her.
“Nothing much.” Kagome kept glancing up at the blackboard and copying the days assignments into her agenda book.
“So, what was the deal with this morning you were walking so fast I thought it had to do with something that happened between us?” Inuyasha added with another famous smirk.
Kagome tried to keep her head down as she went now to her notebook and started writing random sentences .
“What are you writing?” Inuyasha asked curiously.
“Random stuff that pops into my head at the moment.” Kagome finally looked up at him and saw what he was wearing, black pants and a dark red shirt. With hair like his, it stood out because of its bright color. She couldn't take her eyes off of him.
“Is there something wrong with me?” Inuyasha asked a bit too happily.
“No!” Kagome answered too quickly. “I'm sorry. I couldn't go back to sleep this morning, so I'm not the best that I could be this morning.”
Kagome then glanced up when the teacher finally entered the room and started telling everybody a poem. That is always how they start the day. When the teacher always asked for opinions about the poem, he would always call upon Kagome because she listened well to what other people said and took in every word. She interpreted everything that people didn't understand. She enjoyed doing this every morning.
“Kagome.” Inuyasha whispered over to Kagome. He held out his hand and she to him. Inside her palm she felt a piece of paper cup in her. She pulled her hand away and unfolded the piece of paper and read the question that was asked before but never happened because of later that day she had to break up a fight. Kagome wrote the answer that would probably continue their project about the dumb, dead, and weird writer named Shakespeare. She passed the paper back to its rightful owner and went back to copying down some notes that the teacher had written down.
Kagome glanced up every once in a while due to the fact that there was somebody watching her every move.
After the day passed like a breeze. When Kagome walked out to her car, she saw Inuyasha leaning up against the driver door.
“Do you want me to follow you home and then I'll drive you to my place?” Inuyasha was having fun seeing Kagome switch her books from one arm to the next.
“Sure, would you mind if I did some of my other classes work at your place?” Kagome was trying to get past Inuyasha who was blocking her way. “Can you please move, these books are killing me?” Kagome asked him.
“Sure,” was Inuyasha's only response. He walked past her so she could get in her car. Inuyasha soon followed behind her in his own. As Kagome parked her car in the driveway, she grabbed the books from the backseat and got into the passenger side holding her books in her lap. She looked out the window on the way to his place. `What's wrong with me? Why am I getting so nervous of going over to his place.' She watched the scenery go by her window. Within five minutes they pulled up in front of his house. She couldn't take her eyes off what she saw. `This is his house?'
“Well, come on slow poke. I'm not going to wait forever you know.” Inuyasha said coolly. Kagome looked up at his figure that hovering in front of the door. She didn't even know that he opened her door. She climbed out of the car and followed Inuyasha into the huge mansion. She kept on following him room through room. She couldn't take her eyes off of how elegant the house was. She didn't see where she was going and ran right into Inuyasha's older brother Sesshomaru.
“What are you doing here? I thought after what happened between the two of you, you'd never show your face in this house again. Wasn't that what she said brother?” Sesshomaru questioned Inuyasha while he was still eyeing Kagome as if she was unwanted company.
“Chill out Sess. Our teacher assigned us to work together about some dead guy, what's his name Kagome?”
“Shakespeare.” Kagome mumbled.
“Yeah, that's the guy. So chill.” Inuyasha grabbed Kagome's hand and forced her to enter a deep red room with silver accents.
“Wow,” was the only thing that came into Kagome's mind. Her mouth was gaped open looking all around the guys room. Kagome was absolutely speechless that all her books dropped to the floor.
“Looks like you've never seen my room.” Inuyasha grinned at the double meaning of his words. He'd had plenty of girls in his room, this was a different matter. He never planned to bring a girl into his room that he wasn't going to get lucky with. This is a new thing for him.
“Do you want to start working or do you want to continue staring at everything in my room?” Inuyasha couldn't suppress his smirk. It broke over his face. Kagome looked down to see Inuyasha at the foot of the bed “Okay what the hell' Kagome walked over to Inuyasha and sat beside him and opened her English binder. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
After their long two hour study group, Inuyasha and Kagome finally finished their project. Kagome leaned back on Inuyasha's bed. She closed her eyes for a minute because all the reading they did, had her eyes blurring into one huge weird page.
“I think I'm done for the rest of the week.” Kagome said. She really didn't like working on homework when she could be sleeping or eating.
“Yeah, well you still have to do the math homework. I already finished during class. Do you want help with it?” Inuyasha lied down on the bed his head tilted towards Kagome for an answer. He noticed her eyes were closed and her breathing slowed down. “Great, she's asleep on my bed. Now what am I going to do?' Inuyasha lifted Kagome up off the foot of the bed and placed her near the top her head on top of his pillow. When he knew that she was in deep sleep. He went to the other side and shut his eyes.
“Inuyasha, dinner's done. Is that chick still here?” Yelled the older sibling.
“Yea, ask mom to put an extra place setting. I think she's probably gonna be hungry.” Inuyasha said through the door. He grudgingly got out of his bed and went around to the other side because he didn't want to frighten her by waking her up beside her on the bed. He placed his hands on her shoulder and shook her. When that didn't work, he couldn't think of anything but to lean down and kiss her awake. `Well that worked.' Inuyasha thought. He saw Kagome squirming in his bed making the sheets gather round her body.
When Kagome began to thrash on his bed he jumped on her to try and stop her making a mess. It only made it more worse. She kept on struggling to make `Kouga' get off of her.
“Kagome, wake up!” Inuyasha finally got to her and she bolted up from where she was lying. She hit Inuyasha in the process making him tumble to the other side of the bed.
“I'm sorry Inuyasha.” Kagome tried to tell him that she needed to leave, but Inuyasha wouldn't hear it, she was thrashing in his bed and wanted to know why.
“What kind of nightmare were you having Kagome?” Inuyasha pulled Kagome into his lap trying to console her. He kept brushing his hands through her hair.
“I was… no, you wouldn't understand.” Kagome said hesitantly.
“I would, if you told me.” Inuyasha said.
Kagome told him that she kept on having these dreams ever so often after Kouga had raped her. She could hear herself yelling at him to stop, him not paying attention, and the tears sliding down her cheeks. Her first time was being raped by a guy that she thought she had loved.
“I…” Inuyasha didn't know what to say to this response.
“INUYASHA! DINNER IS DONE! Bring your friend down as well!” Inuyasha's mother yelled up to him.
“Crap, I forgot. I told my brother to tell my mother that you were going to eat dinner with us. Question is do you want to?” Inuyasha asked calmly.
“Sure, I could use some food in my system.” Kagome replied and followed Inuyasha out of his room down to the dining room where his mother, father, and Sesshomaru was seated with food in front of them. They were waiting for the guest to come down so that they could all eat at the same time.
“Mom, Dad this is Kagome. We were working on a project for English, sorry we didn't come down earlier.” Inuyasha pulled out a chair and offered it to Kagome out of habit.
“Nice to meet you Kagome. Please eat up, Inuyasha are supposed to take her after we're done eating?” Inuyasha's mother Izayoi asked him.
“Well, she still needs to finish her math homework and I offered to help her. So I think I'm going to take home when she's done with her homework.” Inuyasha replied to his mother.
“Oh ok.” Izayoi answered.
After dinner and desert Inuyasha and Kagome headed back up to his room.
“Inuyasha, you don't have to help me with my math homework. I think I can do it.”
“Nonsense, you need help in that class. Sorry, I eavesdrop in on your talks with Mr. Annio and didn't he say that if you didn't pass the test that's coming up that you're going to fail the class.”
“Inuyasha, please don't do this. I'm already told that I am terrible at math, even Sango told me I was bad at math.” Kagome gathered her book and was about to add her math notebook on top of all of her books, but Inuyasha grabbed it before she could.
“Can I please have my book back?”
“I don't know. Let's see here. Last chapter test you received a 75. Last homework assignment's comment was You need to apply yourself more in this class.” Inuyasha looked up at Kagome and noticed a stray tear come out of the corner of her eye. He leaned over and wiped it away.
“I can help you in this class, Kagome. I'm excellent in math, why don't we stay after school tomorrow and we can work on some problems. I promise I won't make fun of you.” Inuyasha swore by giving her his pinkie. She took it and promised on it.
“Well then, tutor. Tomorrow after class. Can you help me with this problem?” Kagome leaned back and showed the problem to Inuyasha.
“That's easy, just subtract 720 from both sides and then divide by 9 and you get 8 for x.” Inuyasha showed Kagome how to do the problem. And let Kagome do the next problem.
“Now, does this one come out to be 26?” Kagome asked Inuyasha. Kagome wondering if she got the problem right.
“Yeah. Good. Finish the next two problems and your done.”
Kagome finished the problems with ease from Inuyasha being beside her helping her learn to cross multiply and everything.
“Thanks.” Kagome got up from her feet and was about to walk to her other books and fell back down because one of her feet fell asleep and it felt weird to walk on it..
“Do you know what time it is?” Kagome asked curiously.
“9:30. Oh crap you're late.” Inuyasha grabbed her books and her and ran out to his car. Kagome said bye to his parents as he carried her past them in the living room. Inuyasha got in the car and put the keys in the ignition and the car roared to life. He reversed into the street and drove Kagome home. She was nearly asleep when he pulled in front of her house.
“Kagome wake up! You're home, go upstairs and go to bed. I'll see you tomorrow in class.” Kagome stirred awake. She looked out the window and saw her mother waiting in front of the door waiting for her. She was about to get out, when Inuyasha pulled her across the stick shift and kissed her quickly.
“Thanks for helping me again in math. I owe you.” Kagome climbed out of the car, books in her arms. She walked up the shrine steps and was greeted by a worried mother wondering where she had been.
“Is that Inuyasha's car?” Kagome's mom asked her.
“Yea, we finished our English project and he helped me with my math homework. Sorry I didn't call earlier.” Kagome gave her mom a hug and heard Inuyasha's car leave. Kagome's mom walked with Kagome into the house, and Kagome walked up to her bedroom and fell asleep instantly wondering what Inuyasha was doing.

Try and make it not to harsh for me though. Alrightie..I am going to go to bed and have happy thoughts of Inuyasha. (Naked with a waterfall behind him)
