Chapter 2
Kagome awoke feeling groggy but warm, as her eyes opened she was met with a piercing stare of golden cat eyes. Letting out a scream of surprise and excruciating pain Kagome sat up only to fall back down in agony. Looking up at the demon she realized that she was being treated by a lion demon, though it was not the same one that she had been fighting in the clearing. This one was in a human form, he had a deep brown and golden complexion with platinum blond hair that was twisted into small neat dread locks that came nearly to his waist. He was not dressed in the typical Japanese fashion but bare-chested wearing wool pants and calf high leather boots. Along with this a bundle of bright colorful sashes that seemed to represent a great number of countries traditional fashions was braided and tied around his waist. A soft deer skin bag hung from his waist along with gems, stones, and ornaments of that type. Kagome was unable to place what country that specific outfit was from and was reminded of the gypsies that travailed nation to nation collecting small treasures. Along with his mixed cultural clothes he had an interesting pattern of scars around his eyes that were raised to slightly resembled the raised brow of a feline he also had them on his neck which swirled downward around his shoulders and chest. He had golden cat eyes and pointed ears one of which held a silver ring that had been welded shut onto his lobe. Kagome had to admit that he was an incredibly handsome demon. He was chewing deliberately on something in his mouth before he took it out of his mouth with is clawed fingers and patted in lightly on her wounded shoulder eww, that was in his mouth! Kagome thought getting another shock of her life as she realized that they were chewed maggots. Now that his mouth was cleared of the insects he smiled knowingly at kagome's naïve disgust.

“My name is Ade,” he said in accented Japanese

“I was the shaman of my village lord Sesshomaru appointed me to look after you,” Lord Sesshomaru, why would he want to help me? Kagome thought,

“Because he owes you a debt because you saved his human ward” Kagome looked at him in shock, he ounce again smiled at her, so far he seemed like a nice man and was surprised by his kindness. So far in her travels Kagome had hardly seen and demon that were kind to humans at all let alone one that spoke to her like an equal.

“That is because in my country humans and demons do not fight like they do here. In my country we live together, demons often as protectors and shamans of villages and humans working as herders and laborers, we both depend on each other,” Kagome was now getting rather annoyed at his thought reading but was to fascinated by the man to tell him to stop.

“You come from Africa?” Kagome asked softly ounce again lying down.

“Yes, I came here 200 years ago after learning of japans vast resources” Kagome felt rather stupid having assumed that Japan was the only place in the world that had demons at all. Ade pored some water into a cup then in another a green substance that smelled like nothing Kagome had ever smelled before. Offering the green substance to her first,

“Drink this, it will make you feel less pain” Kagome took the cup from him and let a small drop enter her mouth.

“ O' my god it taste disgusting!” laughing Ade held the drink to her mouth tighter

“Drink it fast and you won't taste it as long”. Chugging as fast and as powerful as she could Kagome nearly gagged as she choked down the liquid. Ade took the glass away and replaced it with the water that had been slightly flavored with mint, Kagome gladly swallowed it down while holding a ghastly expression on her face. O' my god! that stuff tasted like spicy snot! After that Kagome began to feel groggy and fell into a deep sleep. Awaking a few times to hear chanting in another language that she didn't understand and a hazy mist of some sweet smelling smoke around her.

“How is she doing Ade?” Sesshomaru asked as he checked in on his ward's hero. The only reason he was there was because Rin had demanded to know how she was doing, and he didn't think it a good idea to let her in the room with the witch in such a fragile state. What if she died when she was here! Good god he would never hear the end of it from Inuyasha.

“ She is doing well, I feel a great power in this women, she is strong” Sesshomaru let out a small humph

“How long must she stay here?”

“I would suggest at least two weeks,” Ade stated after a slight pause.

“Two weeks?” Sesshomaru asked again, Ade chuckled lightly.

“Humans are slow healers lord Sesshomaru, you must be patient with them they are like children”. Sesshomaru growled in annoyance before turning on his heel, pausing slightly at the door Sesshomaru stated over his shoulder.

“Set her up in a room and get her some decent clothing I wont have her parading in that whores garb around Rin, she may give her ideas”. With that Sesshomaru left the room still silently grumbling at this annoying predicament.

“Inuyasha it has been a day already go get Kagome!” Shippo stated in a demanding yet whining tone.

“Get off brat” returned a gruff voice that came from Inuyasha's annoyed person. Shippo was fed up with Inuyasha's treatment of Kagome. After all you didn't have to give a life debt to a person who was dead! Well, at least he thought that you didn't have to.

“I miss Kagome I want her back,” shouted Shippo as he burst into false tears in attempt to make Inuyasha feel guilty.

“Get off brat” Inuyasha yelled again. Giving up Shippo ran back to the village to complain to kaede. Maybe I should go get her,, is she still mad? Inuyasha weighed his options slightly before jumping down and following Kagome's dwindling sent towards the well. During his walk a spring rain began to fall washing away any evidence of Kagome's failed journey. Inuyasha sat by the well slightly tilted forward wandering if he should go see her, after a moment's thought he turned on his heel and left. Maybe just a few more days' Inuyasha decided as he walked back to perch on his tree.
