Chapter 7

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha

‘I had some really weird dreams…’ Kagome thought to herself semi-consciously, ‘I dreamt that this woman was telling me about the Shikon Jewel…Maybe it was the jewel itself and not really dreams…but that’s impossible…isn’t it?’

“Ahh!” Kagome cried out clutching her stomach. Inuyasha rushed over to see what the matter was. She mumbled in her sleep and rolled away from him.

‘Damn it! What is wrong with you, Kagome?!’ Inuyasha thought to himself, ‘Is it that damn jewel?? Is it hurting you? I can’t lose you Kagome…’ Inuyasha held Kagome tight and drifted of to a half-conscious sleep.

In Inuyasha/Kagome’s Dream

“Inuyasha…”

‘Who the hell is talking to me??’ Then he saw Kagome. He ran to her and stood in front of her. “Inuyasha…” The voice came again.

“What the hell do you want you damn voice!?” Inuyasha yelled out angrily. Kagome just blinked up at him. This wasn’t like any dreams she had had before.

“Inuyasha…” The voice started, “You have to protect Kagome…” Kagome thought really hard about this one. She remembered her previous dream with the same voice telling her that she had to stay with Inuyasha.

“Inuyasha…Don’t let Naraku get to the Shikon no Tama…If it falls in to his hand the evil side shall be winning in the battle…” Everything clicked in to place for both Inuyasha and Kagome. This was the soul of Midoriko inside the Shikon no Tama talking to them. She was warning them; was trying to make them understand what must be done. “Inuyasha you have to use your sword, the Tetsusaiga,
to defeat Naraku. You must learn from your older brother Sesshomaru, no matter how much you hate each other, how to wield a sword properly…And Kagome; you have to use your miko powers. Your dear old friend Kaede, you must learn from her. She will teach you everything you need to know to help Inuyasha defeat Naraku. Naraku is more than human. He used to be a man, Onigumo, who took in demon souls and he possesses them inside of himself. To become fully a demon he needs the sacred jewel.”

“Wait a second there voice…How do you know all of this?” Inuyasha questioned the mysterious voice that he thought was only in his head.

“Inuyasha, isn’t it obvious that the voice is Midoriko inside the jewel?” Kagome asked him.

“Yes, but that still doesn’t answer my question!”

“Well…I should think that since the jewel has been around since almost the beginning of time that it should know a lot, so why shouldn’t it know this?” Inuyasha was satisfied with the answer, although he stubbornly crossed his arms over his chest and said, “Keh.”

“I will leave you two to fend for yourselves now.” The voice told both of them, they heard this eerie silence, and then they started drifting apart.

End Dream

Next thing either of them knew they were back in Hana’s living room with Inuyasha clutching Kagome tightly. Kagome blushed and looked at her feet. Inuyasha loosened his grip and looked at Kagome, a questioning look in his eyes. She nodded signaling that ‘yes she had, had the same dream’. They were both astonished. They couldn’t read each other’s thoughts, but they just knew what the other was thinking just at that moment.

‘The jewel is bringing us closer together. I know I can trust Inuyasha…But…’

Inuyasha scowled. He saw Kagome’s bottom lip start to tremble as if she was holding back crying.

“Kagome…What are you doing!? Are you going to cry!?” His eyes widened. “No!! You can’t do that! Stop!” He started to tickle her and all her thoughts of sadness were swept away as she flailed around on the couch.

Jisho walked in, and quickly walked back out embarrassed. She walked back up to her room to find Souta glaring at her. She was very confused. ‘Now why the hell would he be doing that?’ She thought to herself. She crossed the room to where he was sitting on the floor and sat in front of him.

“Souta, what’s wrong?” Jisho questioned cautiously.

Souta continued glaring at her and took his time answering. “Jisho…how could you even think about killing my sister?!” he whispered angrily at her. She was shocked. She had no idea that Souta even knew about that.

“Souta…” She said and reached out to gently touch his arm. He pulled away. This hit a pain in Jisho’s heart that she never before knew was there. “Souta,” she began again, more confidently this time. “I would never be able to go through with it! I had told him that I quit!!” Jisho said to him and she could feel tears pricking at the back of her eyes. “I was going to help Inuyasha and Kagome defeat Naraku…” She cried out to him. Souta stared at her disbelievingly. “Oh alright!” she confessed. “I didn’t know what I was going to do! If I didn’t do as he wished then he would kill all of those that I loved! Souta I didn’t want him to kill you! And if I did what he wanted, then I would lose you!” Jisho was now crying; this softened Souta’s expression somewhat.

“Wait…Did you say that you loved me?” A blush crept up her cheeks and she hiccupped. She wiped her tears away and smiled shyly at the boy.

“Well…I wouldn’t say ’love’ per say…But yeah…I do like you…Souta I don’t know what to do! I’m an assassin; I have been since I was, like, five. It’s the only thing I’ve ever known. I was taught not to feel! But I do Souta…I feel for you! I like you!” She looked down at her feet. He couldn’t be mad at her anymore…Not after she had told him that she had a crush on him.

“Well…I like you too…” He looked down at his hands and she pulled him into a hug.

Later after Jisho and Souta had explained the story to Sango, Miroku, and Hana, everyone sat contemplating. They were at a loss of what to do.

Kikyou sat on the floor of her ‘room’ with her stomach grumbling with hunger. She had been there for a few days with only one meal every morning. If she didn’t get something to do soon, she would go crazy! She knew that agreeing to help a man that was literally wanting to kill someone was taking a risk…but this big of a risk? She didn’t know if she could handle it. She wanted out. She was starting to twitch. She was scared of going insane. She had cried every night and more. She thought that her eyes were going to fall out from so much crying. She even tried screaming, but then, they had fumed the room. She knew better than to try that again. She drifted off dreaming of when she and Inuyasha would be together again.

Inuyasha and Kagome were sitting on the couch watching a movie when Kagome was suddenly overcome. She passed out and Inuyasha didn’t know what to do. Suddenly Kagome started glowing. Her scent was still the same…Yet, she was different somehow.

In Kagome’s Mind

“Kagome…this is Midoriko…I am allowing your true miko powers to shine through. I’m afraid we may not have time for you to learn from Kaede. Take a ‘crash-course’ with her though, for a week. Whenever you awake, you will feel different. Fear not, fore it’s all for the better. Good luck my dear Kagome. Fight well!” With that, Kagome began to awake.

Back In the Real World

Kagome awoke to see Inuyasha’s amber orbs staring worriedly at her. The worried look faded and was replaced with a look of happiness.

“You’re alright then?” She nodded.

“Midoriko unlocked my true miko powers.” She shrugged. “Wanna order a pizza?”

“Yeah!!”

Kagome had very strong miko powers. Inuyasha was going to go to his brother for help, and become stronger. They, together, were going to defeat Naraku. This idea really scared them both…but for the sake of their ‘love’ (really it‘s only crushes right now), Kagome’s life, and the world, they were willing to risk everything they had in killing him.

Wow…How can people do two stories at once? I keep getting mine mixed up! O.O I give you all two thumbs up who can do that. Review, please!!

Isn’t Kagome always the one that bad things happen to? Huh…
