[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Hey!! *yawns* Well, I'm sad to inform you that this fanfiction is nearing its end. It will only last until chapter twenty and then it will be over. I'm not sure if there will be a sequel so don't get your hopes up.

To review "I am Sango": Tis okay that you didn't like the name :-p Kagome's baby is a girl, by the way. ((It said so at the end of the chapter, silly))

Chapter seventeen - Will You Marry Me?

Kagome hopped into the hot shower that awaited her. She let out a sigh of relief as she put shampoo in her hair. Thank gods for Grandmother Kaede; she's the one watching Maririn while she gets ready for her date with Inu-Yasha. Kagome just hoped that Maririn wasn't giving Kaede a hard time...Must think good thoughts.

After 15 minutes of bathing she tore herself away from the steamy heaven and walked into her room. "What to wear, what to wear..." she mumbled, searching through her closet. She hoped her outfits fit her; she's been working out for about a month and lost almost all of her pregnency eight. Finally, after a few minutes of looking in her closet, she found something to wear; a purple and black plaid skirt and a black skull shirt. She smiled and put on the outfit she had selected.

Kagome looked at herself in the mirror. "I can't believe I just had a baby," she thought aloud. She looked in the mirror again and began applying her black lipstick, black eyeliner, and very light purple eyeshadow. She pulled her hair into two braids. Kagome smiled again as she walked down the stairs and into the living room. "So, what do you guys think?" Kagome asked as she spun around.

Sango looked up from her magazine. "Woah..." she whispered. "Are you sure you just had a baby?"

Kagome giggled. "Arigatou, Sango-chan! What about you, Miroku?"

"You look ravishing..." he told her truthfully.

Her friends' comments made her blush. "You guys are so nice! So, are you sure you don't mind watching Maririn tonight? 'Cause me and Inu-Yasha don't mind taking her our da--"

Sango cut ehr friend off. "I wouldn't hear of it. Miroku and I are watching Maririn tonight and that's final."

Kagome giggled again. "Aww, thanks!" She hugged Sango. "I will do the same for you when your baby is born."

That's when the doorbell rang. "That'll be Inu-Yasha," said Kagome excitedly as she ran to answer it.

"Hi, Kagome," he greeted her and embraced her in a hug. "I missed you."

Kagome hugged him back and then laughed as they separated. "We just saw each other yesterday."

"That's like an eternity to me," replied Inu-Yasha with a kiss. Their lips parted after a few seconds.

"We should go," Kagome told her lover.

Inu-Yahsa nodded in agreement. "Good idea." The two said their good-byes to Miroku and Sango and drove off in Inu-Yasha's car, stopping at the movie theaters. Kagome and Inu-Yasha got out of the car and walked to the building, hand in hand.

"So, Inu-Yasha," Kagome began, looking into his eyes. "What movie do you want to go to?"

"Doesn't matter to me," said Inu-Yasha as he held open the door for Kagome. "As long as I'm seeing it with you."

---------------------------------

After the movie was done, Kagome and Inu-Yasha went back to his house to star-gaze. "Wow..." Kagome whispered, laid on her back. "The stars look so beautiful tonight. So clear..."

Inu-Yasha kissed her. "I know, so very beautiful and elegant, just like you."

"Inu-Yasha, you're too kind," she kissed him on the cheek.

"Kagome...." he began nervously. "Something's been nagging me at the back of my mind. I... I just.. I would be delighted if..." Inu-Yasha got on one knee, took her left hand, and looked into her eyes. "Will you marry me?" He got out a diamond ring from his pocket and slipped it on her ring finger.

Kagome's eyes opened really wide. 'Does someone actually want to marry me? Did the love of my life just ask me to spend the rest of my life with him? Oh my God...' Kagome's mind was racing, but she knew the right answer, but words failed her. Instead, to answer him, she gave him a soft kiss on the lips. Inu-Yasha smiled and hugged Kagome. "You... You mean it??"

She nodded her head, and tried to find words. "I... I would be honored if I could spend the rest of my life with you."

---------------------------------

Kagome arrived back at her house late that night, at around 2:00 a.m. She felt really bad that she had left Maririn with Miroku and Sango all that time. She quietly tip-toed upstairs and saw Sango and Miroku sleeping peacefully with Maririn in their arms. Kagome smiled at this beautiful scene and was sad that she had to break it up. "Guys, I'm home," she tapped them.

"Huh, ehh... wha--?" Sango's eyes fluttered open. "Took you long enough," she replied grumpily. ((Pregnent women are not nice... trust me, my mom just had her baby 4 months ago, and she was NOT nice when she was 8 months pregnant))

Kagome bowed in apology. "I'm really sorry."

Miroku nodded. "It's okay," he replied sleepily. "I understand..." He and Sango fell back asleep. Kagome sweat-dropped, but took her sleeping daughter out of their arms quietly. She set her in her crib and got dressed into her nightgown. Kagome then fell back in her bed, asleep.

I'm really sorry for the short chapter, and yet again I'm really sorry that this fanfiction is almost over. By the way, if there is a sequel *I'm not sure if there will be, though* it will not be released shortly after this fic is over.

I'm working on another fanfiction to be released shortly after, so I'm very sorry.
