A/N: hey guys, well… if anyone still reads after my very slow updates (sorry!), anyway… this story is going to be 30 chapters long but in order to get there I'll have to move the pregnancy faster so if it seems like her baby is developing too fast that's because I'm moving the time faster lol. Oh, and if anyone reads my other story… `Mr. perfect, for your eyes only', well… I'm having a bit of a writer's block with that one so an update might take a long time…a very long time. Okay, that's about it… don't forget to review!!! Please? =)

A month elapsed and things weren't fixed between Inuyasha and me, we would exchange occasional greetings or talk only when necessary; like when we were paired up for an assignment or when he wanted me to let Kikyo know that he might be late for their appointment. Although it seemed Inuyasha had no interest in her, Kikyo was actually still very fond of him and was refusing of letting him go. This new month marked the ending of my high school year, I was already 5 months and a half and after discovering the many grateful moments pregnancy brought… my mother decided my days at school were over. I agreed without any protest because it was becoming harder and harder to hide the fact that I was having a baby.
Kouga begun to call me daily, telling me how he would try to come home this summer but I disagreed saying that he should try to bond with his friends in his foreign country. It seemed as if nothing had happened between us… like there was no distance separating us but, of course, something had changed inside me. When I listened to his voice, my heart wouldn't jump in excitement or my stomach start to form butterflies inside; I blamed it all on the pregnancy since it was the only reason I could be acting so strangely.
People at school would shoot me curious glances and my gym teacher was also suspicious about my mysterious notes as an excuse for the class. They would know, it was inevitable but I didn't want to hear the whispers in as I walked through the hall nor did I want to listen to the counselor's scolding… none of that was appealing and the sooner I went out of there, people would have less lessons, whispers and gossips of what was happening to me. Sango was practically sobbing as we had our last lunch together at our school but I just elbowed her and kept on munching my sandwich.
“Aren't you going to miss this?” she said as she tried to keep her tears in her eyes, I shook my head.
“It wasn't very pleasant for me, remember my perfect sister that walked the halls before me?” Sango giggled and nodded.
“I'm not talking about school in general… I mean this…” she pointed at us. “Being together almost 24/7… once you have your baby, promise me you'll have time for me and my problems.”
“I'll try,” I laughed a bit and finished my meal.
“So, how did Inuyasha take it?” I looked down and didn't answer; Sango forced me to look at her. “You did tell him, didn't you?”
“He's just my friend and it's not even important any more, we're not that close.” Sango shot me a look but I ignored it and continued. “Besides, he wouldn't have liked me if he knew I was pregnant… who wants to deal with someone else's burden?”
“Fine, I won't say anything…” the bell rung and I was leaving already since my mom was picking me up, I had cleaned my locker throughout the week so the only thing I had to carry was my backpack which was now empty. “Don't leave me Kags! Stay!”
“You know I have to go and is not as if I will never see you again,” Sango nodded.
“Yeah, but who will understand my jokes? Who will understand my passion for my boyfriend? Who will listen to my problems and not think I'm not crazy?” I laughed again. “You know you want to stay…”
“I…” my cell phone interrupted and we both looked eagerly at it, my mom was calling announcing my exit. “Have to go; I'll see you later today… will you come and visit me?”
“You don't even have to ask.” Sango said and walked with me to the main hall. “I'll stop by your house later today, okay?”
I nodded and walked to my mother's car; I looked back and waved at Sango who was still there standing and left quickly once she saw the principal walking her way. I giggled and took one last glance at the school. My mom placed my backpack on the back seat and drove home, I immediately took off the sweatshirt I was wearing and stood with against the wall happily as I breathed no more school. The door opened and my sister came in.
“Kikyo?” I asked surprised, she nodded as she searched in her backpack for a few books and gave them to me, I grabbed them dazed.
“I'll go grab some water, go wait for me at my room… we'll start with your lessons today,” she said and I read the covers, math, French, biology, physics; they were all there waiting to torture me.
“But…”
“I want my niece or nephew to be as intelligent as his or her aunt so you better stop complaining and start going upstairs.” She interrupted me and walked towards the kitchen, I sighed annoyed and went to her room.

It was past midnight and I was alone at home… and still awake. My Friday nights have never felt so lonely, Mom went out on a business trip; Kikyo had some unfinished conversation with Naraku and after yelling at each on the phone for three straight hours they decided it would be better to talk facing each other. And here I was alone, I ate what my mother had left me and read some Mark Twain till I felt sleepy but once my head hit the pillow, my eye lids were suddenly wide open and didn't let me sleep. When I usually couldn't sleep, I would call Kouga and talk about anything that came to my mind but… he was long gone and now I had to look for some other way to fall asleep. I counted in my head till I reached to the number 899 but then I stopped realizing that I was home alone and that there was no need for me to stay in my bed if I wasn't going to sleep yet.
I went downstairs and turned on the TV before I started switching between channels as I searched for something entertained to watch, I finally found myself a good movie which I hadn't watch since it premiered in the theaters since I was too scared to watch it again. `The ring' made my heart twitch but it was either this movie or `The hottie and the nottie' so I decided it wouldn't harm me to get scared and keep my brain cells. The shrilling music the movie had was making me shiver and just when she finished watching the terrible video, my cell phone started ringing.
“Great timing,” I said with a quivering voice to myself as my phone rang. “Hello?”
“Kags… did I wake you up?” I heard Sango say with some sobs.
“No, I couldn't sleep. Are you okay?” I asked as I changed the channels again, I heard my best friend sniff.
“Yes and no… is it okay if I go to your house and spend the night there?” she asked me and I checked what time it was, it was 2 in the morning… what could she be doing outside?
“Um… sure,” I said as I heard her sobbing some more. “Do you need to talk?”
“Of course,” she said before hearing her sniff again and cutting me off.
I sighed heavily and kept on switching the channels until I heard a soft knock, I quickly turned off the TV and went to open it. It was a terrible sight what I found; it was my best friend with very red puffy eyes and tears pouring down her eyes, she tried hard not to sob anymore but the sound would choke on her throat and made it louder. I helped her sit on the couch and handed her a few tissues for her to clean her tears and to blow her nose.
“I'm an idiot,” she started and grabbed another tissue. “Here I was thinking I had the perfect relationship and everything comes falling apart… specially with this.”
“What did Miroku do to you?” I asked as I felt suddenly my anger rising, she shook her head and let out a giggle.
“It's more like what he didn't do,” I looked at her confused but she cleaned some more tears and started with her story. “I went out with him today and after going to the movies he invited me to his apartment, I was so happy Kags… I thought he finally got past whatever problem he had and… well; I wanted him to be my first.”
“But?” I asked once I saw her trying to control sobs again.
“I kissed him and tried to pull him in some more to start making out but he pulled away, he said he couldn't do this, he said that… that this wasn't supposed to happen…” she started to develop more tears and I quickly cleaned them away with my sweater. “I wanted to know what he meant by that and then I jokingly said… `is not like you're gay or something' and then…”
“He's gay?!” I said half yelling; Sango covered my mouth with her hand.
“I don't want to wake up your family,” she whispered and cleaned her tears again.
“No one's here,” Sango looked at me and then started letting out desperate cries, I gently tapped her back and waited for her to calm down. “What did he say?”
“He said that he was with me because he wanted to give it a try… I'm just his stupid experiment! I just had to convince myself he was gorgeous and not enough to be gay…” I hugged my friend dearly and sighed.
“How about we go upstairs and eat some ice cream from the box until we forget about our miseries?” I asked and Sango shook her head.
“But… you should be eating healthy,” I rolled my eyes.
“I haven't tasted an ice cream for 4 months now… will you please do this for me?” I asked and Sango giggled, placing away her sorrow.
“Okay, but only if there's Neapolitan.”
We didn't talk at all about our love life or rather the lack of one in my case but we did have some good laughs about our favorite shows, favorite movies and our trips to the mall… that of course, before I decided to sleep with Kouga and force myself to stay inside because I didn't want anyone to find out. Before we knew it, there was no more ice cream left and I closed my eye lids… it felt like a second but once I opened them again, I realized it was morning and someone had placed a blanket on us. I looked at myself and felt my stomach hurl after eating so much junk food… it was worth it though, I checked the clock and noticed it was past noon. Sango woke up just as disoriented as I was and gently rubbed her eyes.
“I feel like my eyes are the size of my head.” I laughed and she sighed. “Thanks,”
“No, I should be thanking you… ice cream tastes better than I remembered.” Sango stretched herself and heard her phone ringing. “Hello? Mom… hey…”
I saw her expression going from worried to scared; Sango quickly hung up and unwrinkled her clothes a little.
“I have to go home or I'll end up getting my head smacked against dinner table…” I laughed and Sango put on her shoes. “I'll call you today, if I can…”
“Okay,” she kissed my cheek gently before hugging me for a moment and walked out my door as she waved at me.
“I was about to make breakfast,” Kikyo said from the staircase; I looked back at her and yawned. “I won't tell mom you ate the whole box of ice cream if you do me a favor…”
“After that I'm at your mercy,” She half smiled at me and grabbed the car keys.
“I told Inuyasha we could study today since at night I have someone else to tutor… anyways, he'll be here in a few minutes and I have to go and buy an ice cream box before mom arrives… would you mind staying with him for a while?”
“Sure,” I had replied out of instinct and suddenly I realized…
Me? Alone with Inuyasha? Of course not! I… I couldn't do it! The embarrassment after I thought they were about to have sex and the fact that we haven't talked to each other for such a long time in friendly terms… what the hell did Kikyo want me to do? I didn't have time to take back my answer since Kikyo was already driving off the entrance. I sighed heavily and quickly run upstairs, I took a shower and got on some clothes. I picked out a turquoise shirt and a pair of jeans. I was brushing my hair as I heard the doorbell ring, I sighed heavily before I practically ran downstairs, I looked down for a second checking that my belly wasn't noticed and opened the door.
“Hi,” Inuyasha let out a bit surprised, I half smiled as I motioned him to come in.
“Kikyo went to the supermarket, she'll be right back.” He nodded and he sighed.
“I have something to get off my chest,” I arched my brow at him as he stared at the carpet. “I had no right to answer for you when Bankotsu asked you out and… I'm sorry, that has been tormenting me the past few weeks.”
“I wasn't offended by it or anything,” I replied and he grunted.
“Stop faking Kagome, Miroku told me how upset you were when you left and I just can't believe it were my words that made you act that way.” If only your words were my problem… “You could have broken up with your boyfriend from all I know and there I was acting like jealous prick and cutting you off.”
“Acting like what?” I asked with a smile forming on my lips.
“A jea…” I saw his face turn in a variety of red until he cleared his throat and his eyes went up to meet mines. “I already let it out, so what the hell… I really like you Kagome and it drives me crazy when I think of you seeing someone else, especially Bankotsu.”
It was my turn to turn red once I felt him moving closer to me, our eyes were locked with each other and for once I wasn't thinking about running away or about my baby or about Kouga… for once, I actually wanted to feel his lips against mine. We were so close, my breath hitched as I closed my eyes and I felt his breathing mixing with mine when we heard someone clearing her throat. I opened my eyes and I looked at Inuyasha who embarrassedly walked towards Kikyo and helped her with her grocery bags. She shot a look at me and I felt like crawling under the couch.
“I was just…” I started but Kikyo walked towards me and leaned forward.
“Everything is just fine Kagome, really…” she whispered on my ear and winked at me before walking to the kitchen.
“That was…” Inuyasha started as he scratched the back of his head. “Embarrassing, Kikyo asking me out and then she seeing us like that… I'm sorry,”
“You have nothing to apologize for… Kikyo has a boyfriend.” Inuyasha's eyes widened and we heard a loud crash in the kitchen, we both ran inside and Kikyo let out a few nervous giggles.
“My bad, I wanted some lemonade.” She explained as she tried to pick up the pieces. I tried to help but she held her hand up and stopped me. “I wouldn't want you to get hurt sis,”
“Thanks,” I replied unsure of what she meant, she looked up at us. “You guys ready for lunch?”
“I already ate… but I'll take a glass of water as you have lunch.” Inuyasha said and Kikyo smiled.
Kikyo quickly served two plates for us, she had the nerve of bringing fried chicken with some fries for herself and some boiled vegetables with a slice of turkey breast for me. I stared at her plate for a long time imagining I was the one eating all of that, I had to control my impulses though and I looked up to notice Inuyasha staring at me. I blushed a little and he half smiled as he had some of his water, Kikyo sighed.
“So, are your grades in math getting higher?” Inuyasha looked at her.
“Um… yeah, things are going better… thanks.” He replied. “So, Kagome… I haven't seen you in school the whole week, were you feeling ill?”
“Kagome isn't attending high school anymore, she won't go back.” Kikyo answered for me, I tried to kick her when I noticed she was hugging her legs; Inuyasha looked at me with concern.
“What? Why?” I opened my mouth to answer but no words came out, my sister let out a giggle.
“Because of her condition, it isn't healthy for her to walk around the aisles of the school in that state.” She said, I intentionally threw my knife away as Inuyasha stared at her puzzled.
“Oops, I dropped my knife…” Kikyo quickly handed me hers without even getting up.
“What condition? I don't understand.” He said and I felt like dying, I pushed my drink and made it spill on the table; Inuyasha quickly came to help me but Kikyo didn't move a bit.
“Don't tell me you don't know,” Kikyo said taking a sip of her drink before spilling everything out. “Kagome is pregnant.”
