The only sound that would reach in the room was the droplets of water streaming down and hitting the floor. Inuyasha had stopped cleaning after Kikyo had told my secret, I didn't dare to look up at him and I heard that my sister was eating… as if nothing had happened, as if she had just said I bought new shoes or something. I closed my eyes and heard Inuyasha sigh heavily.
“Well, that explains a lot…” he whispered as he got up and went to Kikyo. “Um, I think I'll go home for today… maybe we can continue this some other time,”
“Of course and regarding our date tonight…” Inuyasha shook his head.
“I won't be able to make it, thanks though.” He said as he walked towards the door, I finally let out a loud sob; Kikyo rolled her eyes.
“He was bound to know some day and by the way, I broke up with Naraku yesterday.” She said before walking upstairs.
“It was not your story to tell Kikyo!” I realized I was yelling but I didn't want to, I just wanted to drop on the floor and cry.
“Oh please, you should be thanking me Kagome… not only did I save you the embarrassment of him finding out by himself but I also spared you the explanations. Do me a favor and finish eating and stop yelling because it's not good for your baby.” My sister reasoned with me and I walked towards her, I lifted my fist and I would have hit her when I saw Kikyo's eyes dart to the door. “Mom, welcome back.”
“Is everything okay?” My mother asked with worried eyes, I shook my head and launched myself towards her as I silently cried. “What's wrong baby?”
“Hormones,” Kikyo answered and for the first time in that day, I was grateful she did because I didn't want my mom to know that I had gotten my heart broken.

“I don't want to get involved with a pregnant woman!”
“That's disgusting! I won't deal with someone else's mistake!”
“Yeah… I thought you were pretty before all this, now… well, you're a mother. Biggest turn off. EVER.
I kept on crying as I imagined what Inuyasha would tell me if I saw him again, I tried hard not to but it was impossible not to. I sighed as walked to the bathroom to give myself a shower; I gently pulled up my t-shirt and noticed my stomach had grown a bit. I gently smile and soon found a surprise. I could see the foot of my baby, very small against my bloated belly printed in my skin; it unbelievable to see such a beautiful sight but there it was… presenting him or herself to my eyes. I had to blink away my tears, although these were tears of happiness but they were tears anyway so I decided not to shed them. I took off my clothes and jumped inside the hot water.
“Stop faking Kagome, Miroku told me how upset you were when you left and I just can't believe it were my words that made you act that way. You could have broken up with your boyfriend from all I know and there I was acting like jealous prick and cutting you off.”
“Acting like what?”
“A jea… I already let it out, so what the hell… I really like you Kagome and it drives me crazy when I think of you seeing someone else, especially Bankotsu.”
The words kept ringing in my ears and they seemed as he was telling to me now, how stupid of me to think that I could start a relationship without him finding out I was pregnant… really stupid. I rinsed my hair and my body before stepping out of the shower, my body glistened and had a faint taint of pink due to the hot water and I heard my cell phone ringing. I walked to my room and grabbed it without even checking who was calling.
“Hello?” I asked a little breathless, I heard a sigh.
“I'm not grounded… let's go out,” Sango offered with a voice that seemed like she was better.
“I'd love to Sango but…”
“Busy with homework?” Sango kidded and I let myself smile. “Kags, you know I never take `no' as an answer…”
“And that's why you should consider your future as a salesman.” Sango let out a low laugh. “Today isn't really the best day for me,”
“We can talk about it as we eat some fries… oily, salty, junky fries” I heard my stomach grumble in anticipation to taste them. “You know you want them,”
“I'll go as long as you pay for them,” Sango let out one excited squeal.
“I think I'm enjoying bribing you Kags, I'll be at your house in less than 10 minutes so be ready.” I nodded, aware that she couldn't watch me and closed the phone as I picked out what I would wear.
I decided that since this was not a date and I wasn't going to try to pick up guys at the mall, so I picked a sweatshirt and jeans with my favorite pair of shoes which were black flats. Sango honked and I took it was my cue to leave; I kissed my mother goodbye and didn't even bother telling my sister where I was going after her horrible stunt yesterday. I entered her car and Sango smiled at me.
“Why are you so happy?” I asked curiously as I remembered her episode last night, Sango grinned at me.
“I didn't lose my virginity to a gay dude… that's enough reason to make me smile.” I patted her back and she let out a sigh. “Really, I'm feeling great… I'm over him already.”
“Liar,” I said and she rolled her eyes.
“Well, I'm trying not to think about him but you just couldn't wait to bring him up…” Sango said as she started the car, it was my turn to sigh.
“Right, I'm sorry… let's go get ourselves some greasy food,” Sango smiled widely.
“That's the spirit!”
I laughed with Sango as she drove to the mall, we immediately went to the food court and she bought me my precious French fries as she went to get herself a smoothie. I practically gulped the food down my throat but it was more than enough for it to feel like pure heaven. Sango sighed heavily and I looked back and saw Miroku.
“You haven't spoke to him yet, right?” my friend nodded as she directed her eyes to her drink.
“Oh, shit!” she hissed and I turned to look he was coming towards us. “Kagome, let's go.”
“Hi girls,” Miroku greeted as he took a sit next to me. “What are you up to?”
“Just having a snack…”
“But we were already going,” Sango interrupted as she got up and pulled me with her.
“Sango, I really owe you an explanation…” Miroku started and my friend shook her head as she tried to pull me away with her.
“There's really no need for that… you just play for the other team and trust me, there's nothing wrong with that.” Miroku closed his eyes and sighed.
“Will you listen to me?” he pleaded and Sango shook her head.
“No, I heard more than enough yesterday about you and your…”
“I'm a nympho,” he whispered and Sango froze. “I'm not really gay… I just didn't want you to know about my dark secret.”
“What?” she asked and I felt uncomfortable, I cleared my throat and they turned to look at me.
“I'm going to get an ice cream… I'll wait for you there,” I said to Sango and she nodded as I walked away.
Miroku… a sex addict? Why would he rather have Sango think of him as gay than know about that? It was very distressing but now his song lyrics sort of made sense and the comments from Bankotsu and… Inuyasha, I wonder what he's doing right now. I ordered my ice cream, mint and chocolate and walked through the court as I inhaled the delicious aroma of the junk food. I kept on walking and I realized I was far gone from the food court just when my nose wasn't able to perceive food smell. I found myself in front of a music store; I stared for a minute at the guitar as I remembered Inuyasha gently strumming it.
“Excuse me, I need to go inside.” I heard someone say and I turned around to find Bankotsu. “Wow, I didn't know that was you…”
“And what would have changed if you did?” did I just flirted with him? He seemed to believe so and let a smile come on his lips.
“I would have changed my greeting, let's start over… shall we?” he asked with a tempting smile on his lips, I nodded and turned around again.
“Hello princess,” he whispered in my ear and I turned around.
“Hey Bankotsu…” I greeted and he smiled again.
“Just call me Ban, what are you doing here? I mean all by yourself…” I sighed heavily as I walked back to the food court, he matched my pace.
“Sango was having a talk with Miroku so I decided to leave them alone… what are you doing here?” He looked back and sighed as he directed his eyes towards me.
“I was about to go inside the store and buy some new strings and a pedal but I found you much more interesting so I decided to keep you company.” Bankotsu admitted and tried to hold my hand.
“I'm sorry,” I said as I gently moved it away. “I just…”
“So Inuyasha wasn't lying,” he mumbled, I stared at him frozen… could he be that cruel and let everyone know my secret?
“What… what are you talking about?” I asked trying not to let my voice crack, he looked at me curiously and smiled.
“You do have a boyfriend… that's what I mean with `Inuyasha wasn't lying'. You look pale, are you okay?” I nodded my head and breathed a few times.
“I just felt dizzy… too much ice cream probably,” I faked a few giggles as I approached the trash bin and threw away my half full cone. “I think I'll be going home now…”
“Can I take you?” he asked eagerly, I shook my head.
“Don't worry; I'll take the bus…” It was his turn to shake his head.
“I won't let you in a bus by yourself; I couldn't live with the thought of something terrible happening to you.” I half smiled and was about to accept when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I didn't have to look back to know who was behind me because Bankotsu spilled the answer. “Yash! What a surprise… where's Mia?”
“I wasn't going to the store to tune it… I came to buy a pair of headphones, I'll take Kagome home.” He offered and I gently took his hand off my shoulder.
“Thanks, you guys are really nice to me but I want to take a bus… I'm not really that far away from home.” I pleaded; I didn't know what was worse… for Bankotsu try to hit on me or for Inuyasha and me to have an awkward ride.
“It's no problem for me, you Yash… you should get your headphones.” Bankotsu offered as he took my hand, Inuyasha half grinned and pulled up a bag.
“I was just heading back home, besides I know where she lives.” Inuyasha said taking my hand; I felt his warm skin heating against my hand. Bankotsu took it back.
“And I will be able to know as well once I drop her off at her house,” Inuyasha shot a look at Bankotsu and took back my hand.
“But why waste time if I already know it? Besides… Sess said he would kick your balls if you leave him hanging again.” Inuyasha smiled triumphal and grabbed my hand. “Kagome, I'll drive you home.”
“Gee thanks,” I mumbled and waved at Bankotsu as Inuyasha gently grabbed my hand.
His car wasn't that far away from where we were standing; Inuyasha opened the door for me and held my hand until I was sitting on his car. He got in his side and threw the bag to the back seat before starting the engine. I didn't dare to look at him as we drove back home but I could sense his eyes on me and I could look from the corner of my eye as he opened his mouth but no words came out. I was grateful at the sight of my house and I was about to get out when Inuyasha got out of the car and went to my side to help me. I smiled at him and sighed at the thought of this nightmare being over.
“Thanks for bringing me home,” I mumbled and he cleared his throat.
“I didn't mean to freak out after Kikyo mentioned…”
“Yeah, I know.” I interrupted and he scratched the back of his head. “I really wanted to tell you but…”
“You didn't want to see my reaction?” He finished and I nodded as I kept my eyes on the ground. “How far are you?”
“Close to the five months,” Inuyasha stared at me surprised.
“So you were… pregnant… before we met?” he asked dazed and I nodded. “Who was he?”
“Someone I loved and moved away… he doesn't know about it,” Inuyasha nodded and we took a seat on my porch.
“You're not going to tell him, right?” I sighed as I sat next to him.
“I don't want to ruin his life, I don't regret my actions but I don't want to drag him with me.” Inuyasha messed with his hair as he let out a heavy breath. “I don't want to drag you either… that's why I didn't want you to know.”
“Kagome, you're not dragging anyone…” he said and looked at me. “I won't pretend like this isn't hard for me to accept… `cause it is but I want you to know that I'll be by your side.”
“What?” I asked surprised, he half smiled and gently placed his hand over my belly.
“I want to be here for you and… for your baby,” I was near tears and lowered my head; he used his hand to lift my chin up. “I meant when I said I really liked… I really like you.”
“I really like you too.” I said as I placed my arms around him and hugged him tightly, he returned the gesture and I heard some footsteps approaching; I looked up and found Naraku standing with a flower bouquet on his hand.
“Naraku.” Inuyasha said as he stood up and gently placed me behind him.
“Inuyasha…” Naraku hissed and I could only tell this was trouble.
