In her first period, Kagome sat all the way back of the class so she wouldn't be seen by anyone and no one would poke her with a pencil or throw spitballs at her. She enjoyed the class. It was Japanese Literature.
Her second class was Japanese History. Unfortunately, she was in the front row. The whole ninety minutes was pure torture.
`At least it's almost the end of school. I have ten weeks of freedom,' she kept telling herself so she can pull through it.
After her second period was lunch. She always brought food from home so she won't get embarrassed going through the lunch line. Since there were lunch tables in the courtyard, she always sat outside with Sango.
The usual ritual during lunch was Sango helping Kagome getting spitballs out of her hair. Both of them was quite used to it. They usually wore plastic gloves so they wouldn't get sick by other peoples' germs.
After that was done, they went to eat their lunch. Sango had rice balls with water while Kagome ate seaweed salad with rice balls and diet coke.
While they were eating, Kagome saw InuYasha with Miroku and Shippo walking around and laughing. She could see Sango also looking at them, but at one particular person, Miroku.
Yes, Kagome knew that Sango liked him. He was the perverted one of the bunch. He always groped women and asks to bear his child. He did grope Sango once in a while during their school years, but this year, he groped her about five times a day. She always slapped him, but she blushes when either one of them walks away.
Once InuYasha looked back and saw her staring at him, Kagome quickly looked away and continued drinking her soda. Not even for her realization, he was smirking and went back to talk to his friends.
Kagome looked back at InuYasha. She loved his midnight hair with silver streaks and his violet eyes with amber specks in them. She really loved his butt. It was so small and tight and she loved it when he wore jeans.
At once the girls sighed and then giggled.
“Do you think Miroku and I will have a chance together?” asked Sango as she took a bite of her rice ball.
“Of course! He gropes you all the time than any other girl in the school. I am pretty sure it means that he likes you…a lot,” replied Kagome.
“Yeah, and I think you and InuYasha will be a perfect match,” said Sango.
Kagome choked on her soda and Sango had to slap on her back.
“Don't say that! Why would a popular guy ever go out with a fat loser like me?” said Kagome.
Sango lightly punched her friend on the arm. “And don't say that about yourself Kagome. You are beautiful in the inside and out. What guy wouldn't go out with you?”
“Uh, the whole school male population?”
“Whatever. I just know that there is a guy out there that will accept who you are. Trust me.”
Kagome shrugged and the bell rang. The girls said their good-byes and went to their third period class.
Kagome's third period class was Algebra I and she hated mathematics. There were too many numbers and too many formulas to remember.
`If I could go back in time, I would murder anyone that invented these types of math,' she thought as she scribbled down easier ways to do formulas as the teacher was talking.
She looked at the clock and it thirty minutes until it was over.
`Please, please go faster,' she pleaded at the clock and then the minute hand moved. Now it was twenty-nine more minutes. She sighed in irritation and slammed her head on the desk.
“Miss Higurashi, is there a problem? Am I boring you?” asked the teacher. The whole class giggled.
Kagome raised her head and replied, “No, there is no problem. You can go right along with the teaching.”
The teacher nodded and resumed talking.
She thanked the gods when the bell rang. Her last period was Earth Science. She adored that class. She learned about the earth and the weather sometimes.
Kagome was about to enter the classroom when she was tripped. She fell onto the floor and her books skidded from her when it hit the ground. She gathered her things and stood up. She turned around and saw Kikyo leaning at the doorway with a smirk plastered on her face. She was the only thing that made her dread the class and sadly she sat two seats in front of her.
“As they say, big people make the loudest noise when they fall. Too bad you're not big enough to not get back up so people can laugh at you,” she said and slinked past her to get to her seat.
Kagome shrugged it off and went to her seat. As the bell rang, the science teacher came in and class started.
The period went by fast as usual and when the last bell rang, she zoomed out of the classroom so she can walk home. She usually does that when school ended except when it was raining and there was a thunderstorm.
It was a half hour walk back to her shrine home. She enjoyed those times alone. It was peaceful and no one taunted her. She liked it like that. She was grateful that she wasn't like other kids that get teased when they walk home. Although, she did feel bad for them when she watches them on TV on talk shows like that American show “Oprah.”
“At least tomorrow is the last day of school. It's going to be pure bliss not going through the teasing and crap,” she said to herself.
Kagome arrived home and walked the long series of the steps. When she arrived at the top, her cat Buyo greeted her. She smiled and petted him.
“At least you are a friend that doesn't make fun of me,” she whispered. Then she walked inside of her home to greet her family and to prepare herself for her last day of school.
