InuYasha helped Kagome into his car the next day. After some tests, the doctors said that she was good to go.

 

The drive to her home was in silence. InuYasha looked at Kagome in the corner of his eye while he was driving. He gulped slightly as he laid a hand on her knee and squeezed it gently. Kagome looked at his hand and blushed. She laid a hand on top of his.

 

They arrived at her house. InuYasha walked out and went to open for her. She walked out and he held her as they walked inside of her house.

 

As they entered, a shout of people saying `WELCOME HOME!' was heard. Kagome smiled as she entered the living room. She saw Souten, Rin, Ayami, Sango, Shippo, Sesshomaru, Koga, and Miroku standing around with grins on their faces.

 

Kagome's mom, brother, and grandfather entered from the kitchen, carrying drinks and food and placed them on the table.

 

“Oh Kagome, welcome home. We are so happy that you're back,” her mother said as she hugged her daughter. Kagome smiled and returned the embrace.

 

“It's good to be back mom. If I stayed any longer, I might have lost my mind,” Kagome joked.

 

Souta walked up to his big sister. “I missed you Kagome, a lot.”

 

Kagome started to bend down, with InuYasha's support since she was still weak. “I missed you too Souta.”

 

“Promise me that it won't happen again, I was…I was scared that I might have lose you like we lost daddy,” Souta cried.

 

Everyone in the room was silent. Their eyes narrowed to the floor, they didn't know what to say. Ms. Higurashi and Grandpa were silent and small trials of tears unexpectedly fell down their faces.

 

Kagome bit the inside of her lip. Her being in the hospital really scared him.

 

`Don't cry Kagome, don't cry, don't do it!' she was chiding to herself.

 

Alas, it failed. Tears escaped from her eyes and raced down her cheeks. “I'm sorry Souta, so sorry. I'm sorry I scared you; I never meant to scare you. It won't happen again, I promise!”

 

She let go of InuYasha's support and hugged her little brother tightly.

 

After a few minutes of some serious silence, Sango broke it by saying, “OK, Kagome's back so let's party!”

 

Everyone talked to everyone. They ate some pizza and some chips and some popcorn. They drank water and soda and some green tea.

 

Then came the presents. Everyone contributed in by buying her one super gift. It was a one-summer rent for a condo at the beach.

 

“Oh my gosh! This is so awesome! Thank you all so much!” Kagome said, hugging everyone one, twice, three times.

 

“Well, since it is the spring time, it's not that far away,” said Souten.

 

“Yeah, we all will go there together like last year,” chirped Rin with a goofy smile.

 

“Uh-huh, except it's bigger and better than Sango's parent's friend's condo,” said Ayami.

 

Kagome looked at her best friend with a smirk. Sango answered, “They are sorta telling the truth.”

 

“Oh, I can't wait to see it,” breathed Kagome.

 

She felt arms wrap around her waist and looked behind her. InuYasha hugged Kagome tightly against his body. Kagome started to feel butterflies in her stomach and her face flushed. She was never used to this attention. It would be time getting used to.

 

He said, “It'll be good to spend some time with you at the beach. Hopefully, it will be better than last summer.” Then he chuckled.

 

Kagome slightly smiled. Yes, last summer was a little bad, but everything got better…much better.

 

“Yeah, I think it'll be a lot better,” she sighed.

A/N: I went back and read the reviews I had gotten and I thought, I have come a LONG way. They made me smile cause everyone enjoyed reading it and could relate to it, being picked on because of their weight and whatnot. Although the story is coming to an end soon, I hope there will be more stories like or similar to it.
