`A Dream Worth Keeping' Sheena Easton

The ride up to the school was quiet. Mindless chatter. The guys led the way to school as Sango and I
danced down the sidewalk.
"Oh Kagome it feels like I haven't danced in ages!" I laughed as she twirled around.
"My legs are going to hate me tomorrow morning though. I can't wait though. Poor Miroku won't be
able to keep up though." We giggled as we danced in circles around Miroku.
"Feh"
"Oh Inuyasha, you are the same way, Kagome will leave you in her dust."
"Oh lovely ladies, we don't dance, we observe. Inuyasha here has never danced before if I remember
correctly " Miroku laughed as he laced his fingers into Sango's hand.
"There's a first for everything. From what I'm hearing out of Sango's mouth Kagome can teach. Or
maybe Sango Or both?" He wiggled his eyebrows at Sango and me. Miroku released Sango's hand and
wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Don't count on it dude."
I just giggle and kept walking. We got to the school and heard music blasting. We walked in paid to get
in and put our stuff down. Right as soon as we did, one of our favorite songs came on. We screamed so
loud Miroku fell over and Inuyasha ducked for cover. Without even thinking we ran from the table and
hit the dance floor.
A couple songs later the guys finally found us. We said sorry and continued dancing. Miroku was dancing
with Sango and Inuyasha just stood there. I stopped dancing.
"C'mon Yash, it's easy. All in the hips see?" I swung my hips at a slower tempo until he got it. "There you
go! Now go a little faster to go with the real beat. After a few seconds he was finally getting it. I turned
around and he put his hands on my hips.
The DJ spoke as the last song ended. "This next song is for all the couples out there tonight.
I looked over and saw Miroku and Sango nestled perfectly together. I quickly snapped a picture and
turned to retreat to the table. I was stopped by Inuyasha. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
When you're feeling lost

No matter where you are
"Yash this is a couples dance silly. Meaning couples only." I joked around. I could only hope.
"Why aren't we a couple Kags?" He lifted my arms and placed them around his neck and pulled me even
closer. I felt like I was floating on a cloud. I rested my head on his hard chest and heard his heartbeat
over the music. "I would love if we were. I want you to be my Kagome."
I believe we found a dream worth keeping
For more than just today
Even though the winds of change may come sweeping

My breath caught. This can't be happening. "I'd like that more than you know Inuyasha." I felt like I was
floating on Cloud Nine. I felt a sudden rumble in his chest and I looked up. He was a god. He had his eyes
closed and looked so happy. I stood on tiptoe and planted a tiny kiss on his chin. He opened one eye and
smiled.
"Only a kiss on the chin?" The music stopped and the DJ came onto the speakers again.
"Okay for all the people that came to dance. Everyone's been requesting it." Blasting on the speakers
was `Right Round'. I gave Yash a quick peck on the lips and pulled away to join Sango.
"So Kagome, you and Inuyasha?" She nudged me as we danced leaving the guys with open mouths.
"Yeah. I'll give you details later. Let's make them drool." When I had my back turned I felt a set of hands
reach my hips again. I turned to see Yash.
"I do like this whole dancing thing. Only with you though." I giggled and looked at him.
"There is still one last thing to teach you about it." I moved back so his chest was to my back. "There we
go. I slowed down a bit so he could get a good rhythm going. "Much easier now huh?"
"Yes. I didn't know you could move like this Kags."
"Didn't know you could learn so quickly." The night continued like this. A few slow songs, a lot of fast
songs. After the last song we went to gather our belongings from our table and we headed outside.
"So what's going on this weekend? No school Monday so we have a long weekend." Sango was right. I
completely forgot.
"Hey Inuyasha, we should go to my beach house. We could go home and pack and leave in a few hours
and get there by morning."
"You have a beach house Miroku? I'm your girlfriend and I'm just now finding out?" Sango stood in front
of him with her hands on her hips.
"I was saving it for special occasions. Like now. What do you guys think? Wanna go? I'll drive."
Yash nodded and Sango and I looked at each other. "Umm, I'd have to ask my mom I highly doubt she'll
let me."
"Same here. If Kagome's mom says no, my mom will say no. Let's ask as a group. To my place first." We
walked back to Sango's house and walked in. "Okay, it's worth a shot wish me luck."
Not even five minutes later Sango comes to the kitchen where we were waiting with a shocked
expression. "They said sure. Wow. That was easy! Well I'm gonna pack! Good luck Kagome! Call me
when you are on your way Miroku!" Sango ran to her room and I heard clothes flying and screams of
excitement.
"Well I'm going to get home and pack myself. I'll call you Inuyasha when I'm on my way to get you."
"I guess it's my turn. I hope Mama let's me." We walked to my house and saw my mom was still up.
"Hey mama I'm home."
"Weren't you staying at Sango's house? Oh, hello Inuyasha." She motioned over for us to come sit with
here on the couch.
"Well I was. I came home to ask you something. A change in plan."
"You make it sound like I'm not going to like this change in plan." She muted the tv. "Go on."
"Well I was wondering if I can go to Miroku's beach house this weekend. Sango, Miroku, and Yash." I
watched her face as she shot a look to Yash.
"I don't see why not. You have a great time. Call me when you get there, take pictures too."
I was struck dumb. "Really? Thank you mama!" I ran up and hugged her. "Yash I'm gonna pack, I'll see
you in a bit!" I ran up to my room and found my suitcase and started looking at all my swimsuits to see
which one to bring.
About 30 minutes later I heard a knock on my door. "Come in! I'm almost done packing I'll be right
down." My mom came in and closed the door.
"They aren't here yet honey, I just wanted to have a word with you." My mom sat on my bed and patted
the spot right next to her.
"Now while you are away I just wanted to give you something. Since there will be no parental
supervision I trust you will not go buckwild." She gave me a box and I instantly blushed.
"Mom, I will not need these I promise you." I gave them back and she took them.
"I just want you to be safe. Even if you've only known him for so long, what if things just happen? I want
you to be safe." She put them on the bed. Just then the doorbell rang. "Oh I forgot to tell you they were
on their way from Sango's house. Do you need money or anything?"
"Nope I got some. Thank you though mama." I hugged her and zipped up my suitcase.
"Kagome, please change out of your dress, I'd hate to see it ruined. And don't forget to take those just in
case, please?" She walked out of the room and told Yash I'd be right down. I quickly changed out of my
dress into my tie-dye tank top and some cute jean shorts. Sporting my favorite shoes, I slipped my
converse on and fluffed my bangs. I grabbed my suitcase and ran out the door leaving Yash inside. "Bye
mama!"
I threw my stuff in the trunk and told Sango to get in the back before Yash came. She crawled into the
back of the Hummer and we locked our door.
"I like this view better, two lovely ladies in my mirror." We waved and started taking pictures. Especially
Yash's face when he saw he wasn't sitting next to me. "Boys in front!"
He grumbled as we took off heading for the beach. It wasn't long before Sango and I were leaning our
heads together and dozed off, waiting till we arrived.
AN: Just a few questions answered.
"Where do I get ideas for clothes?" Pfft it's stuff I wear. I love my converse especially!
"Is your school life like this?" I only wish! My school sucks. It's almost over though. YAY!
"Who is your favorite singer/band/whatever?" Avenged Sevenfold. (RIP Rev)
"Extra curriculars? Kagome has none, are you the same?" I have too many. I am a cheerleader. About 9
years. I am on Varsity and Competition squads. UCA and NCA All American for 4 years. I am also in every
choir in my school. Just got a 1 (top rating) at district contest too. I'm going to state. I'm in band. First
chair oboe. I also play the piccolo.
