“Now ladies, is that any way to greet a person?” Mrs. Pulami scorned Kagome and Sango.

“As far as he is concerned, `person' is not a word to describe such a vile creature.” Kagome glared at the young man who just had to come into the detention room. `I think he lives to torture Sango and me' Kagome thought.

“Watch your tongue Kagome … you know what happened last time.” The person warned.

“Who the hell are you and what is Kagome's problem?” Inuyasha asked.

“Our problem is the boy standing in front of you; he goes by the name Naraku.” Sango filled him in.

Something in Miroku's brain clicked and he put two and two together from what information he had gathered from the boy in class earlier that day. “So this is the High School kid that seems to be your match in a fight.” Miroku confirmed his information with Kagome and Sango's reluctant nods.

“Miroku, I want you to do something for me.” Inuyasha stated to his friend. “I want you to talk to Koga to see what the deal is between Kagome and Naraku.” Inuyasha's solemn tone dripped through his voice though he tried to conceal it, but Miroku had known him far too long not to know when Inuyasha was upset.

“Ok, I will go ask Koga, but only because you like Kagome.” Miroku then jumped up out of his seat and quickly walked over to Koga before the hanyou had a chance to register his words.

“Look, I have some questions and you have my answers.” Miroku said as he took a seat beside of Koga.

“What do you want to know?” Koga asked in return.
“What the deal between Kagome and Naraku is.” Miroku replied and Koga nodded his head, signaling that he would tell him. “Well, it all started a year ago when Naraku bumped into Kagome as they were walking down the hall. Kagome's books were knocked out of her hands by the impact but Naraku just kept on going and Kagome got very angry.” Koga began.

Flashback

“Hey, watch where you're going!” Kagome yelled as she gathered her belongings that were scattered on the floor. “The least you could do is say your sorry, you ass!”

Naraku stopped dead in his tracks and turned on his heel. He was in front of Kagome before the blink of an eye, towering over the young girl on the floor like a skyscraper. “What did you call me?” Naraku seethed through clenched teeth.

Kagome, whose eyes had gone wide with shock when Naraku had simply appeared before her when he was already a good distance away, regained her composure and retorted back with her usually attitude. “I called you an ass; do you have a problem with it?”

“Yes I do you and you are going to pay for such foolishness.” Naraku said as Kagome heaved herself off the floor.

“What do you mean by pay?” Kagome glared at him for she knew the answer to the question. Instead of answering, Naraku slapped Kagome across the face.

Her head was jerked to the side, hair whipping around to cover the side of her face. She slowly turned her head and glared at Naraku, her eyes full of fiery rage. “You are going to regret ever doing that hanyou.” Kagome took pleasure from the moment of shock that covered Naraku's face before he pulled himself together.

“So you know my secret. That alone should be enough to tell you that there is no way you can beat me, being the mere human that you are.” Naraku cackled as Kagome ran at him, her fists balled.

She took a swing and made contact with his jaw. “Mere human I may be to your untrained eye Naraku, but I am far more powerful than you'll ever be.”

“How could you be more powerful than - you're a priestess, why didn't I see it before?” Naraku rebuked himself for his lapse of judgment. “This will make it all the more enjoyable.” Naraku touched a hand to his jaw that Kagome had hit. “You hit pretty hard, but I can hit 1000 times harder.”

Kagome and Naraku got into their fighting stances, anticipating the others move. The hall was void of students who had sensed the anger boiling between the two.

They were the only ones in the hall … until a teacher walked unnoticed into the empty hallway. Kagome unfortunately chose to act at that time and was heading in for a blow to Naraku's gut and was halfway there when the teacher called her name.

“Kagome, what on heaven are you doing to Naraku?” Mrs. Pulami screamed as she went to check on Naraku to see if he was injured before turning on her heels to stare Kagome down.

“What are you doing? You shouldn't be picking fights with one of my favorite students, let alone in the school itself. I expected better from you Kagome. You will have to go to detention I'm afraid.” Mrs. Pulami smiled a malicious grin though her words sounded kind.

`I guess she is being nice because the principal is observing the teacher in the classroom beside us and she is afraid of being overheard.' Kagome thought sullenly as she glared at the despised teacher.

Mrs. Pulami grabbed Kagome by the arm and led her down the hall to the detention room while motioning for Naraku that it was ok for him to leave.

Naraku smirked as Kagome was pulled down the hall. “I think I will look forward to seeing this `Kagome' again.” Naraku said as he turned to walk the opposite direction.

End Flashback

“The two are enemies and always will be. Naraku won't leave Kagome alone and lives to torture her in any way he can, but my Kagome doesn't let him get away with it though.” Koga boasted to Miroku.

“Is that everything Koga?” Miroku asked and with Koga's nod of the head, he returned to Inuyasha who was waiting expectantly at his seat. “Well … what did you find out?”

“All you need to know.” Miroku answered and proceeded to inform Inuyasha all that Koga had told him. After Miroku was finished, Inuyasha only nodded and put his attention back on the argument at hand.

“What are you doing here any way?” Sango questioned Naraku angrily.

“I can answer that question,” Mrs. Pulami started “I requested him here to watch over the class since I have to go elsewhere, quite frankly he volunteered himself when I told him who was in the detention class. Anyway, I will leave you in the more than capable hands of Naraku; he was my best student when I taught science.” Mrs. Pulami smiled warmly at Naraku and glared at the detention kids before parting to go wherever it was she had to go.

Once the teacher had left Kagome and Sango stood up, drawing the attention of Inuyasha, Miroku, and Naraku. Koga was busy drawing pictures on his desk to notice; he was in his own little world now.

“We're out of here.” Kagome and Sango started walking to the door only to be stopped in there tracks by the strong and painful grip of Naraku's hands on their arms. “I don't think so ladies, you are to stay in this room until I say you can leave. The teachers gave me permission to do anything it takes to keep you in here, and I stress anything.” Naraku sent a malicious grin in their direction, knowing that he had won.

“Ouch, let go, it's starting to hurt you asshole!” Kagome tried to wrench free from his tight grip only to have it tightened around her arm. “Stop Naraku, that hurts! What the hell are you doing here anyway, other than to torture us?” Sango said.

“I have my reasons, and I love to boss you around … I love the power I have.” Naraku loved to over power Sango and especially Kagome. He had an extreme disliking … no, hate of that girl.

“I am warning you, if you don't release us right now …” Kagome paused to think of something.

“What Kagome … compared to me you are a weakling.” Naraku taunted.

“Oh yeah … well I can prove you wrong.” Kagome grinned while rearing back her leg. She went in for the kill and kicked him very hard. She hit Naraku in the leg, causing him to fold over and grab his aching shin.

Sango took this time to deliver a kick to his backside, condemning him to face plant into the ground. Kagome and Sango sniggered while Inuyasha and Miroku, who had been watching the whole thing, stared at the pair as they gave each other a high-five for a job well done.

Naraku groaned on the floor while the two girls went to their desks to get their books and things. “Where are you guys going?” Miroku asked.

“Where else, we are getting out of here. There is no way in hell we are staying here with Naraku.” Kagome and Sango answered in unison.

Just then they heard the door slam shut with a loud thud. They turned to see that Naraku was no longer on the floor, but was guarding the door. “Change in plans, you two will be sitting in those seats … NOW!” Naraku commanded and when they didn't obey, he walked over to them and roughly shoved them into their seats.

“Hey!” Miroku and Inuyasha cried simultaneously at the rough handling of Kagome and Sango. Koga, pretty much oblivious to his surroundings, was still consumed in his drawings.

Naraku shot Inuyasha and Miroku warning glares. “Are you alright?” Inuyasha was … oddly enough to her … concerned about them. “Uh … yeah … we're fine.” Kagome managed to say. She was taken aback by his sudden caring about them.

Miroku eyed him suspiciously and then shot him an all-knowing perverted grin that went unnoticed by Inuyasha who was now focused on Naraku, who had made his way back to the front of the room.

“I have a little task for you four …” Naraku looked over to Koga, “Since he is completely oblivious as to what is going on.”

The said four looked extremely disgusted at this request. “No way!” they all shouted in unison.

“Alas, you have no say in the matter, this is your punishment and I am the one who gets to pick it. That is part of my reasoning for coming down here to supervise you. This punishment is hand picked by me … and I guarantee you will not like it.” Naraku smirked at the angry and worried expressions on their faces.

“What if we don't do it?” Inuyasha dared.

“I'm glad that you asked, fore the punishment for not doing the task I have chosen for you … is that you would become my personal assistant. You would have to do everything I say. If you don't, you would be suspended. The principal has agreed to these terms seeing as how you need to be taught a lesson.” Naraku smirked and continued on. “Now your punishment that I will inflict upon you will be …”

*******

Kagome, Inuyasha, Miroku and Sango had been cleaning the nasty cafeteria floor for an hour now and they were disgusted. Naraku had exempt Koga from the task of cleaning the floors because he wanted the four others to have to do all the work.

Koga just sat in one of the chairs and observed the others as they worked, occasionally winking at Kagome when they shared glances.

Inuyasha noticed this and tried to get in between Kagome and Koga's stares whenever they crossed.

This befuddled Kagome but she was thankful that he was breaking the eye contact between her and that annoying wolf.

Naraku, who had been quiet for a long time, began to speak to the cleaners.

“I have come to realize that the cafeteria becomes dirty on a daily basis so you will be coming back for a very long time to clean it up, until your sentence of detention is over that is.” Naraku smirked at the looks he was getting.

“No way!” Kagome yelled while pointing her finger which was not currently holding a mop at Naraku. “There is no way I am going to—” Kagome began but was cut off by Naraku who had advanced towards her at a very fast rate.

“This is not for you to decide Kagome,” Naraku said as he pushed her into the cafeteria wall. “You will clean this floor by yourself today and if you don't, well the consequences will be severe. This is a battle you can not win.” Naraku was now grinning devilishly at the girl before him.

Inuyasha's fists had balled at his sides, for some reason he was … angered by Naraku pushing Kagome into the wall and felt an urge to protect her.

Kagome, who had fallen to the floor, was now using the wall to help her stand again from her sudden fall. She only snorted at the evil being before her known as Naraku thus angering him; he would make her pay for her impudence.

“You three,” Naraku pointed to Sango, Inuyasha, and Miroku. “Take your seats at a table, you are done for now.” The said three walked slowly to a table and sat down. Then Naraku turned to look at Kagome, and pointed at her and then to the floor.

“Now get to work and clean this whole floor.” Naraku ordered and then pushed Kagome down on the floor, taking her mop from her. “Well dumbass, if I'm to clean the floor I need something to clean it with so I need my mop back.” Kagome said sarcastically, only causing Naraku to grin more.

“You don't need a mop when you have a tongue.” Naraku smiled and waited for Kagome's reaction.

“You have a snowballs chance in hell of me cleaning the floor with my tongue!” Kagome screamed at Naraku, who in return, slapped her across the face so hard that she fell to the ground.

She placed a hand gingerly over the aching area that had taken the brunt of Naraku's hand. Sango had apparently seen enough and stood up from the table.

She ran at Naraku quickly and reached for a mop. When she was within range, using the mop like a bat, she nailed him right in the stomach.

“Kagome, are you ok?” Sango crouched down onto the floor, laying the mop down beside of her, and assessed the damage that had been done to Kagome's face. “Oh man, that looked like it hurt Kagome; but I don't think it's going to bruise.”

“Ah, it hurts and my head is spinning. There are about 3 of you right now,” Kagome spoke as she held her head. “I feel as if I am going to pass out.”

Naraku silently picked himself off the ground and located the girl who had just assaulted him. Finally seeing Sango, he began to quietly sneak up behind her. As he came to a halt right behind her, he raised his hands above his head and clasped then together so as to make a fist.

Sango had the feeling that someone was behind her and slowly turned her head, the rest of her body still crouched on the ground and facing the other direction, and saw that Naraku was behind her.

She gasped and froze like a deer in headlights; all she could do was stare as Naraku's fist came closer and closer to making contact with her back.

The next thing Sango knew, Miroku had come out of nowhere and tackled Naraku to the floor.

Kagome, who had come out of her dizzy stupor just in time to see Miroku attack Naraku, could only stare in appreciation of him saving Sango.

Naraku was as surprised as anyone, he wasn't expecting anyone to interfere with this, but no matter; he could easily take Miroku on as well as the girls.

Miroku heaved himself off the floor where he had landed beside Naraku and went to see if Sango was alright. “Are you ok? I can't believe Naraku would treat a lady in such a manner,” Miroku fumed as he helped Sango and Kagome off the floor. “It's disgusting and wrong for him to hit a woman. I would never stoop so low.”

“Umm … thanks for … you know, saving me from getting hit and all.” Sango smiled shyly at Miroku.

“I guess you're not all lecherous and can be a non-pervert at times.” Kagome laughed at the hurt expression on Miroku's face.

“I am very deeply hurt by your comment Kagome; I am in no way a pervert.” Miroku stated as Sango tensed up a little.

“Then what is you hand doing on my but then, huh?” Sango said slowly, anger evident in every word. Sango located the mop that she had used earlier and went after Miroku who ran in the other direction, Sango hot on his heels.

“I'm sorry Sango; this hand just has a mind of its own. I have no control over what it does, honest.” Miroku tried to soothe her rage but this only seemed to stoke the fire.

“Oh yeah, you have no control over that hand just like I have no control over hitting you in the head with this mop!” Sango yelled back at the fleeing pervert.

Kagome could only sigh at Sango and Miroku's antics. `Guess he is all lecherous after all …' Kagome thought before someone pushed her roughly from behind.

She fell on the floor and didn't have time to brace herself for the fall so she did a face plant into the ground and slid a good ways across the floor. `This can't be good for my face, I'll end up having to wear a lot of bandages and look like a mummy. That or my face will be a black and blue mess.' Kagome sighed as she came to a halt from sliding across that floor.

“You three are really getting on my nerves.” Naraku growled as Kagome tried to push herself off the floor, but was stopped when Naraku placed his foot on Kagome's back thus pinning her to the floor. “Now, are you going to do what I ask of you or are you going to stay on the floor until detention is through?”

“Neither,” Kagome said before rolling over on her back forcing Naraku's foot off her. “When does this class end anyway?”

“When I will it to end,” Naraku stated as he glared at the girl on the floor. “And right now is not the time.”

“If you had your way then you would probably keep us in here forever, wouldn't you?” Kagome spoke as she once again pulled herself off the floor. “I just can't take it anymore, why can't you just leave me alone?!” Kagome said as she ran to hit Naraku only to have Inuyasha grab her fisted arm.

“What the—let go of me! What are you doing, are you on his side now?” Kagome tried to wrench free from Inuyasha but he wouldn't let go.

“He's not worth punching Kagome.” Inuyasha stated as he stared at her intensely. Kagome stopped struggling to break free from his grasp.

`What is with this guy … he's so confusing.' Kagome thought as Naraku began to speak. “Who are you half-breed, what is your name.”

“Inuyasha, you got a problem with it?” Inuyasha asked gruffly.

“Inuyasha … I seem to recall an Inuyasha that used to attend a prestigious private school only for the best and richest of demons, but that couldn't have been you because you are only half-demon.” Naraku smirked as Inuyasha growled at the word `half-demon'. “Or could it have been you after all? Let me see, the name of the school was … Tama Academy. I used to go there and I remember talk of a half-demon by the name of Inuyasha that was enrolled there, but he was considered the outcast of the demon school. Was it you that went to that school … are you the Inuyasha that I speak?” Naraku grinned maliciously as Inuyasha's eyes grew large before he regained his composure.

“So what if I was, it ain't any of your business.” Inuyasha snorted as he glared at Naraku.

The doors to the cafeteria opened and Mrs. Pulami walked in, “Detention is over so I hope that you have learned your lesson.”
Naraku walked pointedly over to the teacher and whispered something into her ear. “My heavens, you four are going to be coming back here for a while after what Naraku just told me. How could you get into a fight with each other? I swear Kagome, you are too violent sometimes.” Naraku only smirked as Kagome glared at him with angry eyes.

Inuyasha, who still hadn't let Kagome go, led her out of the cafeteria. Miroku and Sango followed behind them, Miroku sporting many bruises while Sango kept her distance from him.

Koga followed the others but separated from them once outside.

“Inuyasha …” Kagome said uncertainly.

“What is it?” Inuyasha snorted as Kagome spoke again, “You can let go of my arm anytime now.”

Inuyasha seemed to have forgotten he was holding her arm and dropped it quickly while looking away.

“Kagome lets go home. I want to get away from this pervert.” Sango seethed as Kagome the two girls began to walk home.

Miroku was walking slowly and Inuyasha snapped at him to hurry up.

“I'm coming, hold your horses.” Miroku said as they began to walk home.

“What happened to you Miroku?” Inuyasha asked while staring at his hand-printed face. Miroku only flashed a fatuous smile.

“It was Sango and man can she hit hard.” Miroku exclaimed as he touched his face where it had turned red.

“You idiot …” Inuyasha managed to say before they reached the corner of their streets that held a giant oak tree.

“Bye Inuyasha, see you tomorrow.” Miroku waved goodbye as Inuyasha did the same.

They departed each other at the same tree that Kagome and Sango did only minutes before. Miroku turned down the same way that Sango did and Inuyasha walked the same way that Kagome went earlier.

`This has been the longest day of my life.' That was the main thought in everyone's minds as they walked back to their houses.

A/N: I'm not happy with this chapter. It has taken me forever to write because I had to keep fixing it and adding on to it and taking things out but I'm still not satisfied. I just got braces and my mouth is like super sore. Now I know what it feels like and it doesn't feel good. If any of you have braces I know how you feel. But anyway, I want to thank all my reviewers and this time I will do it by name. (Because I'm bored)

PLEASE REVIEW because that is the only thing that keeps me writing my stories! I love for people to love what I write. I have 2 more stories that I think I like better than the two on media miner but I am not going to put them up until I finish the 2 I currently have posted. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go take some Tylenol and eat some Jell-O since every other food in this world seems very hard right now …
