Chapter 5 ~ Shikon Serum

Yawning, Autumn's eyes appeared at half-mast and then opened all the way in shock. She wasn't in her bedroom! She wasn't in Kagome's house either. Then she remembered being captured by that man. Autumn tried to move her wrist, but found that it was chained to the wall. She found the other wrist chained in a similar fashion. Damn him! She thought angrily. Damn that psycho son of a…

Then she saw him.

Her kidnapper was gliding towards her like one of so many shadows present in the dark room. A faint smirk played over his lips seeming sadistic and cruel in the flickering torchlight of this stone dungeon.

Autumn rattled the chains, fully claiming his attention. “What are you doing, CREEP-O? Let me go! Now!”

He simply smiled before pressing a cool hand to her face. “You needn't worry girl. This is just an experiment…I won't hurt you any more than necessary.”

“I'm not some lab rat you can just experiment on!” she roared, using rage to hide her fear. He ignored her, she may as well not have spoken at all, and kept his back to her as he set up some glass instruments on a wooden table. “Answer me!”

“Do you not know of whom you are speaking to?” He asked in a low whisper, still not looking at her.

“If that means `do I know your name?' well…I don't. So why don't you stop being such an asshole and tell me?”

“Impudent girl! I am the demon, Naraku and you will do well to remember that name.”

“Why should I?” Autumn asked. “I'm not planning on staying here that long!”

Naraku laughed, and his low laughter seeped into every crevice of the room like poison. “Plans do change, little girl. Plans do change.”

Autumn wasn't about to ask him what he meant.

She watched as he pulled a crystal-like thing from the folds of his dark kimono and watched as he dropped it into a vial of unknown liquid. The liquid began to bubble and turned a silvery pink color.

Oh God…I hope he's not going to make me…

“Drink this.”

“Drink that?” she repeated dumbly. “But I can't! My hands are tied. Maybe if you…”

“Silence,” Naraku commanded. “I am well aware of your situation. I will hold the glass. You will drink this,” he said, nodding at the glass. “All of it. Or else you shall suffer my fury.”

Autumn rolled her eyes. This sounded like something out of a bad TV show. Suddenly, her head lurched to the side with a crack. “Did you just SLAP me?” she asked incredulously.

“Do my actions amuse you, bitch?” he asked. “Do you think this is FUNNY?” His fiery eyes burned into her own hazel ones as he continued, “Or perhaps…you wish to view the full extent of my rages.”

Autumn tried to take a step back, but found only wall. “I--

“Drink it. NOW!”

She took a sip, and spat it out immediately. It burned the inside of her mouth like fire and tasted like puke. Unfortunately, she ended up spitting it all over Naraku which made him very ANGRY. “How dare you defy me, wench!” he shouted, storming out of the room. Autumn watched him go, starting to tremble, certain that her life would end at this moment, in this very room.

When Naraku came back, she noted that he was slightly calmer. Then she saw why. In his left hand, he carried a gleaming knife.

“Cripes,” she muttered.

“See this, bitch?” he asked. Oh yes, she could see it. The blade was pressed firmly against the base of her throat. She could feel the sharp uneven edges scratching at her skin and knew. If this Naraku chose to cut her he could make it very painful with little effort. “This is a very special knife. It was custom made to fit my needs. If you do not cooperate you will just be one of many to die by this blade.” Naraku leaned closer still. Close enough that she could feel his warm breath on her neck. “So…how is it going to go? It's your choice.”

“Fine,” Autumn said. This time she drank it all, glowing or not. Naraku watched her intently. Suddenly, a cramp ripped through her stomach and what she had just drunk threatened to come back up. Autumn fought the urge to throw up, knowing that Naraku would surely kill her for good if she did. So instead, she bit her lip, and everything went black.
