Chapter III

They rushed into the cabin. Sango held Shippo and Kirara in her arms. She looked very worried as she looked towards them.

“They're very warm and are breathing heavily. Much worst than yesterday.” She said with fear. The room fell silent for a moment.

“We should go see Kaede at once! Perhaps she would know a remedy to help them get better.” Said Miroku, breaking the silence.

“Good idea, replied Kagome, maybe she has seen these symptoms in the past and could tell us what might be causing it.”

Panic slowly rose in Sango as the thought of loosing her best friend since she was just a child filled her mind.

“Let's go quickly!” she said urgently. They left in a dash. Kaede was in a nearby village.

As they rushed for the village, Sango kept her attention on Kirara and Shippo. As the minutes went by, she noticed that their breathing became increasingly faint. “Will we make it in time…” she pondered.

They made it to the village in record time. With no time to catch their breath, they looked all over the place for Kaede. They finally found her in just a few minutes.

She was in a garden picking out vegetables for lunch. She raised her head to see the group rush towards her.

“Why hello, Kaede said with a smile, I haven't seen you all in a long time.” She noticed Sango holding Shippo and Kirara. “Is there something wrong with the little ones?”

“Yes there is Kaede, Sango said in a panic, they are barely breathing right now.”

“Come with me, I shall see what I can do. Pass them to me.”

They followed Kaede to her hut. Once there she asked them to stay outside so she can concentrate on finding out what was wrong; also, find a remedy of some sort.

Time seemed to stand still as she walked inside, leaving the others to wait for her return.
