Chapter 9
The Concert
Disclaimer: Takahashi owns him…I don't…
Summary: She was a shy, soft-spoken, girl unseen to the world. He was an outgoing, loud-mouthed boy everyone knew and loved. He was in all her classes, sat next to her, and fell in love…with her sister.
Sango sighed heavily, shrinking into the seat of Miroku's car. “For the hundredth time I am NOT in Deceitful!”
“I never said that…”
“No but you've asked me a million times if I have `Anywhere else I should be going' or if I have to `get ready'!”
He smiled, knowing full well she'd make up some excuse later to leave while the band played, then he would call her bluff. The car turned into the parking lot of the mall and parked in a small space, the engine cutting off.
Miroku went to get the door, but Sango had already gotten out, looking at him annoyed. “Shall we?” he offered his arm and she huffed, taking it hesitantly.
He lead her through the busy mall lot, avoiding cars and crazy fans as they went. The people crammed through the entrance of the stores to get to the mall auditorium
Sango couldn't help but gawk at the long line stretching three department stores in length from the mall auditorium. “Geeze, is Deceitful this popular?!”
Miroku nodded as they took their place in the back. “Yea, haven't you been to one of their concerts?”
“No,” He looked at her suspiciously. “Not since they first started out at least…”
Miroku kept a close eye on her body movements, which mostly told him she was nervous about something. She would slip and he knew it. It was only a matter of time….

Inuyasha tapped his claws nervously on the table, glancing around the restaurant yet again. She was only two minutes late…it wasn't like this hadn't happened before…
He yanked up his sleeve again to confirm the time. Three minutes! Where was she? Thought of panic flooded his brain. What if she wasn't coming? What if she decided he wasn't enough for her? He'd have to tell her sooner or later….
Just then, Kikyo walked in with a beautiful dress, looking like an angel to him.
Tonight… he decided.

A cry rang out from the guitar as Deceitful took their places on stage one by one. First the singer, then the lead guitarist, followed by pianist and a second guitar.
“HA!” Miroku pointed a finger at her. “I knew you were in the band!”
Sango rolled her eyes, pointing at the drummer as she came on, all of them masked.
Miroku's lip pouted as he realized all the members were there, starting one of their songs. He turned to Sango and smiled. “Sorry.”
Sango stared at him a moment before punching his arm lightly. “It's fine idiot! Let's just enjoy the show.”
As the beat picked up pace and the singer began her melody Miroku watched Sango out of the corner of his eye. He was so sure she was part of the four, but obviously not since all the members were up on stage performing.
Each member had their own mask they wore at every show.
The main singer had a green mask, embellished with what looked like emeralds (fake of course) and strands of silver running through it.
The lead guitarist had a black mask, decorated with variations of pink beading, making out an elaborate design along the sides and forehead.
The pianist wore an orange mask, designed with various feathers and beading, looking like something that might be found in the fabric of a traditional kimono.
The fourth and final was the drummer wore a lavender mask, the beading of deep purple and white making a frame around it before sprouting into an iris along the side of her head.
If it wasn't Sango and the rest of the group…who was it?

Kagome sat at home that weekend, reading one of her many romance novels after their private `math club' had met up so they could finish their homework. It was rather alarming to Kagome when Sango had called up a few days ago and said Miroku was taking her to Deceitful concert, but Kagome was alright when she explained it was just to prove she wasn't in the band.
Actually she laughed and brushed if off completely. Even now, she worried about Sango and Miroku hooking up. She shrugged and continued to read.
Lightning flashed outside, scaring Kagome as a sudden storm blew up. Kikyo and Inuyasha had gotten back together and they were doing well. Kikyo had said she was going to get some tonight, Friday, though Kagome didn't know if she really believed her, or cared.
While her sister and Inuyasha spent most of the week together, Kagome and Inuyasha had gotten closer and had really clicked in class and when Kikyo was getting ready or was out with her friends and Inuyasha was waiting for her.
They had a lot in common she found, and it all started with a coke can.
**Flash Back**
Wednesday…..
“Hey guys!” Kagome greeted as she sat down, surprised to see Inuyasha there. “Hey, where's Kikyo?”
“Went out for lunch with her friends.” He replied casually as he unpacked his sacked lunch.
Kagome sat next to him, fighting a blush as she grabbed her bag, unpacking it as well.
Sango and Miroku both watched with mutual awe as Inuyasha and Kagome both set down a coke in front of them. Next they removed one of the safety pins attached to their backpack and carefully put a hole at the top of the can and quickly sucked out any of the exploding pop.
At that moment they both looked at each other curiously, their lips attached to their own soda can. They both slowly parted and suddenly started laughing.
“You do that too?”
Inuyasha chuckled and nodded. “Yeah, though I usually don't do it in front of people.” The purple stripes on his cheeks filled with his cheeks as he smiled.
“I've done it practically all my life, pretty much everywhere.”
And thus opened the floodgate. Anime, sci-fi, music, movies, stores, brands, cliques, jobs, ideas, food, all of it poured through in heaps of common ground after common ground. They rest of the week was spent making inside jokes, ranting, and just plain talking.
**Flash Back End**
Abi and Naraku had left for the weekend, staying up in some resort in a city a few miles from here, and Inuyasha and Kikyo were out on a date at present. Kikyo had advised her to take off when they got home.
At first Kagome thought about telling her sister to fuck off, but then she decided that by staying, she'd only be hurting herself. So, she had packed a bag, ready to leave at a moment's notice.
Kagome jumped as lightning flashed outside, the sign that a storm was about to hit and hit hard. Kagome just hoped, no prayed it wasn't some sort of sign.
A/N: This is going to be short… I think like….15 chapters? Yes. 15. Maybe 14. Maybe.
