“So Kagura died for you huh?” Toshi sneered. “What a waste.” Sesshoumaru eyes blazed with anger. “And now you will have another foolish woman die for you.” Satsuki held her ground besides her mate. Sesshoumaru drew tokijin.

“I will remain by your side always Sesshoumaru, you will never be alone again.” Satsuki’s voice played over again in his head. Sesshoumaru lunged towards the older Inu Youkai. Toshi met the attack with his own sword. Sesshoumaru pushed against the energy blade until he felt his sword become hot. Toshi smiled as his sword glowed with black energy and began to cause tokijin to melt. Sesshoumaru jumped back and stared at the damaged blade of his sword. He stuck the sword in the ground and went in for another attack, this time using only his claws. Toshi dodged the attack and headed for Satsuki. Sesshoumaru followed the youkai but Toshi was much faster. He lifted his sword to attack Satsuki. Sesshoumaru’s temper flared as he jumped to stop the attack. Kagome and Inuyasha jumped out from the woods, Kagome didn’t hesitate when she saw Toshi going after Satsuki. She drew her bow and arrow.

“Toshi!!” Kagome’s voice rang out. She shot her arrow at him. Toshi turned and eyes widened in shock.

Kanna had jumped in front of the attack. And was attempting to absorb the arrow.

“Kanna.” Toshi said softly.

Kanna’s mirror began to shake and she heard a crack, the mirror was breaking, she tried releasing the souls within the mirror. But then she realized that she wasn’t as powerful as before. The mirror shattered in her hands. Toshi watched as time seemed to slow to a crawl. He watched as the arrow shattered the mirror and struck Kanna in the chest. Toshi dropped his sword and turned to catch Kanna before she fell, he pulled the arrow from her chest, she was actually bleeding. Sesshoumaru stopped his attack and pulled Satsuki away from Toshi. They joined Inuyasha and Kagome at the edge of the forest. They watched as Toshi held Kanna in his arms. They’re expressions changed to shock as they witnessed Kanna begin to change.

Toshi knelled with Kanna in his arms. She began to transform. Her hair and body grew longer and mature. Toshi could feel her curves form under her dress that also changed, it be came long and pink with one sleeve and off the shoulder. Her face matured and finally her eyes changed. She had eyes of someone who could feel.

“K-Kanna?” Toshi muttered. “It was you.”

Kanna spoke with a soft and beautiful voice. “Yes,” she said. Her eyes grew heavy and she knew didn’t have much time. “I-I gave up...the void. I had lied to you once...when you asked me what I desired. I lied, I did want to know what it was like to care about something.” Kanna reached her hand up to Toshi’s face and stroked the falling tendrils from his eyes. “Now I know what it’s like to...love. Thank...you.”

Toshi’s eyes shook as he tried to place his hand over the wound to heal her. But Kagome’s holy arrow was to powerful. Kanna placed a hand over his. “Kanna please don’t leave me.” Toshi begged.

“It’s alright...I have no regrets, since I got to tell you...how I really feel.” Kanna said. Her eyes began to close and Toshi held her closer. He leaned over and gently kissed her small soft lips. Beautiful pink flowers like Kanna’s began to fall from the sky. Toshi opened his eyes as he felt Kanna’s body become weightless. Her body was changing, and becoming dozens of lovely pink flowers. She opened her eyes one last time and gave Toshi a content smile. He sadly smiled back and wiped a lone tear from her cheek. Soon he was holding only flowers.

Sango and Miroku stood over Kohaku’s lifeless body. Just a moment ago he was fighting with hateful eyes. Things appeared bleak for the couple. Now he just laid there.

“Kanna’s mirror.” Miroku said softly. Sango fell to the ground and buried her face is Kohaku’s chest.

‘I lost you, again.’ She cried to herself. Suddenly she felt a warm hand touch her head.

“K-Kohaku!” She heard Miroku stutter. Sango looked up to see Kohaku looking back at her. Sango’s eyes grew wide as she saw her younger brother. He was bathed in a beautiful white light and almost transparent. Sango cried when she felt his pure touch. He didn’t have to speak, him being there said enough. Miroku looked up and saw Kikyou in the distance. Kohaku stood and turned to run to the priestess’s spirit.

“Kohaku!” Sango called out. Kohaku turned and gave her a exhilarated smile as he waved goodbye. Sango smiled back, she hadn’t seen him smile like that since their younger days in the demon slayers village. She stood and happily waved back. Kohaku turned to join Kikyou and then they both disappeared.

Miroku softly sighed as he stood besides his wife, taking her in his loving arms. “She kept her word.”

“Take care of him Kikyou.” Sango muttered barely audible enough to reach even Kirara’s ears.

Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru drew their swords. Toshi had remained in Kanna’s flowers, they could feel his youki become stronger and angry. His eyes glowed red and he finally stood.

“A life for a life.” Toshi muttered angrily. He looked towards Kagome and snarled. “A life for a life!” He yelled again. Inuyasha blocked his view of Kagome and held tessagia in front of him.

“I don’t think so!” Inuyasha retorted.

Toshi didn’t falter in his step, he jumped towards to group ready to bring his sword down upon Kagome. Suddenly blades of light erupted out of the trees and hit Toshi square in the chest, it wasn’t fatal but did cause him to stumble backwards. Inuyasha-tachi turned to see who attacked. To their shock Ayumi jumped from the forest landing besides them.
