InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ New Journey ❯ 22 ( Chapter 22 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
A/N: No, they can't read each others mind. That would be rude. All they
can do is talk. No one can read each others minds unless someone let's
them, or if someone's guard slips while speaking with them. No one does
any thought-reading on purpose. It's impossible to do so.
Kagome was alone. All around her, all she could see were immense
rosebushes. In the morining sun, everything was shadowy, and had that new
look of morning, as if something was waiting to happen. Kagome swallowed.
It would be a while before everyone else was in the maze. Until then,
she could wait. She was waiting for about 10 minutes before she tried to
contact someone. The first person she tried to contact was Inuyasha.
She opened her mental waves and tried to locate him. He was about three
tunnels over, a little more southern then she was. She tried to make her
mind go completely blank, filled with nothing but her color signiture,
which was, of course, blue.
'Inuyasha?' she called out. 'Are you there? It's Kagome.' She waited
for a minute, hoping that he had recieved her message.
'Kagome?' Inuyasha called out. 'Where are you?'
'3 tunnels over from where you are, and north of wher you are as well.'
Kagome replied. 'Have you managed to speak with anyone else?'
'No.' Inuyasha said. 'Let's try to go as far north as we both possibly
can, then three tunnels over. Keep in contact though, or else we might
go too far or something. Once we're together, we can find the others.'
Kagome agreed. They didn't speak anymore, but they could feel the
prescence of the other in their minds. they walked like that for a while,
but then Kagome came to a rosebush wall.
'Inuyasha, stop!.' Kagome said.
'What?' Inuyasha asked.
'I'm at a wall. I can go left, though, closer to where you are.'
'Come on then. I'll wait.' Kagome started to run to the left, but she
ran into some one before she got very far. They both fell down, from
shock more then anything.
"Owww!" Kagome exclaimed out loud when she hit the ground. She got up
quickly enough, and even managed to help the other person up.
"Koga-kun! What are you doing here? I didn't even feel your prescence
here!"
"Well, I just followed Inuyasha's and your energy. It wasn't difficult.
I've contacted Kagura, she's heading up this way to. Sorry for knocking
into you by the way."
"That's alright. Let's just go meet Inuyasha." Kagome strted running
again, but Koga managed to beat her pace easily, at a jog. Kagome was a
little mad. It was her youkai blood, very competitive. She smiled a
little smile, and transformed. As a youkai, she managed to beat Koga to
Inuyasha. It helped that Koga was so shocked that she would actually
transform to beat him that he slowed down for a moment. Kagome ran right
into Inuyasha, almost knocking him down.
"Sorry Inuyasha. I met Koga along the way."
"Did you bring that-" Inuyasha never got a chance to finish, because
Koga ran into the two of them, knocking them down.
"Dumd wolf! Why did you go and do that?!" Inuyasha yelled.
"Because I didn't see you and your woman, dog-turd!!" Koga yelled back.
Inuyasha was getting ready to retaliate when Kagome told them to cut it
out, like so:
"STOP IT! Let's just find the others, okay? We have to get out of the
maze before the 3 hours are up. If you don't want to come, fine. See
ya!" With that, Kagome stomped off, leaving the two shocked men behind
her. Without another word, they both raced after her.
*About 30 minutes later*
"Kagome, let's see if we can contact any of the others again." Inuyasha
said. Kagome sighed.
"I already have found some of the others. I've found Kagura, we should
meet her at the next fork in the maze. Sango as well. She's with
Miroku, Kirara, and Shippo. That leaves...............Kohaku."
"I think I could find him." Koga and Inuyasha said at the same time.
They both glared a look that said 'death' at each other.
"Feel free!" Kagome called out. Immediently, they both cleared their
minds and tried to locate Kohaku. They both found him in about a minute.
He was teh farthest from the rest of the group, about a mile from
anyone else. It was also to far for any mental contact. They had learned to
find each other over great distences-across all the Lands, if
neccessary, and communicate, but they had yet to put the two together. They had
to be less then a half mile from one another to communicate, or else
they'd black out.
"Found him." Inuyasha said, the first to come out of the trance that
finding people always caused, if it was successful. "He's about 1 1/4
miles from us, and a mile from any other living creatures."
"Okay. Let's go get the others, then we'll go get him. OK?" Kagome
said. Koga who had just come out of his trance was very confused, but he
saw Inuyasha nodding, so he did too. They went back to walking. After a
minute, Koga pulled Inuyasha aside and asked him what Kagome was talking
about. Inuyasha explained Kagome's plan.
"So, we're going to pick up everyone, and then the kid? Okay." Koga
said. About a minute or two after that, they came to the fork. They
weren't waiting for more then a second when Kagura came up to them.
"Glad to see you guys are here!" Kagura excliamed warmly, throwing her
arms around Koga. Koga returned it awkardly, embarrassed by all the
show of emotion in front of other people. Inuyasha just snickered until
Kagome elbowed him. Inuyasha glared at her for a minute, but soon
stopped.
"Let's keep moving. We have to find the other-" Kagome said after a few
minutes. She never finished. A loud yell interrupted her thought.
"HENTAI!" Came Sango unmistakable yell. Apparently, Miroku thought that
he could pull something, but this wasn't the case. Miroku and Sango appeared
dragging an unconsious Shippo. All the others were very surprised.
"I guess that Shippo decided that he could take up some of Miroku's
favorite ex-pastimes." Sango explained dryly. "They ARE ex-pastimes, right
Miroku?" Now Sango's had a smile, and it was dripping posined honey.
"Of course they are Sango! I am a monk!" Miroku tried to put on an
innocent face, and the result was hysterically funny. Everyone burst out
laughing, except for Inuyasha, who managed to say,
"But that never stopped you before, eh, Miroku?" then he collapsed
laughing as well. Miroku looked a little sheepish, and nodded. With that
one bob of his head, he was hit by Sango's boomerang.
"Ow!" Miroku exclaimed. "That hurt...." Then he collapsed, unconsious
as well.
"Okay, who do we have left to find? Kohaku? Where is he?" Sango asked.
"About a mile and a half from where we are. We have about 2 hours until
we have to get out. Let's go. Put the monk and Shippo on Kirara, and
we'll leave." Inuyasha ordered. They did as told, and headed towards
where they thought Kohaku was. They had been traveling for about an hour
when they found him. He was beaten up, bloody. Sango gasped. They quickly
loaded him on Kirara, leaving Kagome to carry Shippo and Inuyasha to
carry Miroku. Poor monk......................
A/N: Why was Kohaku like that? And what's gonna happen to Miroku? Why
is it so bad that Inuyasha's carrying him? Hmmmmmmm...... I wonder.
Well, actually, no I don't, you do!! Wonder until you review.
