InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ New Journey ❯ 33 ( Chapter 33 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
"Inuyasha, stop, please!" Kagome begged. She had been hit many times, and Inuyasha had drawn his sword.
"Dust Devil!" The attack nearly hit Kagome, and she had to transform into her cat form to dodge. She picked up an odd scent as she did so. Rysuki!
"Inuyasha, what did Rysuki do to you?"
"Nothing. I'm just smarter then I was before. Goodbye Kagome......." Inuyasha sneered. Kagome knew he was lyinmg. Rysuki's smell was strong on him, and there was much magic about him.
'"My mother told me to remember the nature of Mt. Noisulli....."' Nari's voice rang in Kagome's ears. 'Of course! This Inuyasha is an illusion! Rysuki is using our loved ones against us.' Kagoem drew her sword.
"Finally decided to fight back, little kitty-cat?" Inuyasha smirked. "Good luck."
"You're not Inuyasha."
"Oh? I'm not?" Inuyasha cocked an eybrow quizzically, mockingly.
"No, you're not. You are an illusion created by Rysuki." Kagome said the words aloud, believing in them more as she spoke. She raised her sword, but Inuyasha got there first.
"Earth Acopolyse!" Dirt and mud surrounded her. She closed her eyes, ignoring the stinging pain as the clumps drew blood. She believed that she could make this one attack.
"Mikos Tears!" Water hurled itself at Inuyasha. He struggled vainly to fight it off. It didn't do much, but it provided a break in the attack. Kagome broke through and slahed Inuyasha with her claws.
"Little kitty wants to play, huh?" Inuyasha asked mockingly, holding a hand to his injured shoulder.
"No, this kitty is finished." Kagome raised her sword once more.
"Another water attack? That won't do much......" To Inuyasha's surprise, Kagome smiled, rather sadly.
"No." Kagome ran towards Inuyasha. She cut him across the chest. Blodd spurted out. Inuyasha's death scream was agonizing.
"Aahhhhhhhhhhhh!" It trailed off as the illusion disappeared on the wind. Kagome cried. She had know it wasn't Inuyasha, but she still hated herself for killing him. She whirled around.
"I have to find Inuyasha! If he was sent to attack me, then I was sent to attack him!" Looking back at those words, Kagome realized that it made no sense, but it was right for the situation. Nothing made sense.

"Kagome! Come on, please snap out of it!" Inuyasha begged. He dodged another Water attack. "Come on Kagome!"
"Snap out of what? Does the little doggie want his little girl back? The weakling that had to be protected? I am not that girl anymore." Kagome shot another water burst at him.
*Mini- Kagu-Ko
"Kagura! It's me, Koga! Don't do this!" Koga yelled to Kagura.
"So what if it is you Koga? I'm enjoying this, almost as much as I liked slaughtering your friends!" Kagura drew her sword. "Birds of Vengence!" White birds dove at Koga, opening more cuts on him.
"Kagura!"
*Mini- Koh-Nar
"Nari, don't do this!"
"Why not? I should have done this long ago....." Nari shot more Bites at him. "It's not like I need you anymore......" Kohaku dodged, but a Bite sliced into his side. He grabbed it, deep in pain. He let out a hiss.
'Nari.......'
*Mini- Mir-San
"Sango!" Miroku yelled, dodging her blade. "Don't do this! I beg of you!"
"You beg? Aw...... a monk begging for his life. I didn't think that monks begged......" Sango laughed. "And why do you dodge? It won't help you you know....... Song of the Sea!" A high-pitched wail filled the clearing, focused on Miroku. He clutched his ears, yelling in pain. Blood seeped through his fingers.
"Sa-Sango........" Miroku said as he slumped to the ground, twitching. "My dear Sango........" All of a sudden, the sound was gone. Miroku weakly lifted his head up and saw Kagome by the treeline, and Sango with an arrow in her back. His eyes went wide, but then he saw that 'Sango' was dispersing into the air.
"Illusions......." he murmured before blacking out. "All illusions......"
*Mini-IY-Kag
"Give up Inuyasha!"
"Kagome, snap out of it!." Inuyasha jumped and landed right next to her, grabbing her wrists with his hands. "Wake up!"
"I'm alreday awake!" Kagome swung her blade as best as she could, throwing Inuyasha off a little. She kicked him in the solar plexus, knocking him down and making him clutch his stomach. She put her sword to his throat.
"This ends here." She drew her sword back, getting ready to swing it.
"Inuyasha!" The real Kagome yelled from the treeline. Inuyasha instinctively jerked his head toward her. "She's an illusion." Inuyasha sniffed at Kagome- the real one. She smelled just like she always did. Inuyasha looked back at the copy just as she swung her sword down for the final blow. Inuyasha grabbed the sword with his bare hand, making the sword cut deep into his palm.
"You- Fake- Bitch." Inuyasha said slowly and clearly. He got to his knees in a split second and speared his claws through her chest. The fake Kagome looked shocked, but then just melted away. The real Kagome ran to Inuyasha.
"Inuyasha!" She hugged him. He grunted, then winced, His wounds.......
"Oh! I'm sorry, I-I didn't realize........" She pulled back, afraid that she hurt him.
"Don't be sorry baka! As long as you're you, I don't mind a few cuts." Inuyasha pulled her roughly toward him, burying his nose deep in her hair, his hands tangled in the long black strands. She wrapped her arms around him and squeezed him gentely.
"Inuyasha...... I was so scared....... he sent a copy of you to attack me......."
"Shhhh...... it's alright now, I'm here." Inuyasha ran his fingers through her hair, smoothing it down. Kagome wrapped her fingers in his hair.
"Inuyasha......."
"It's alright now. You're safe. I'll protect you."
**Mini- Koh-Nar
"Nari!" Kohaku yelled. He ran one way, then dodged the other. He hid behind a tree trunk.
'What can I do? She's Nari! I can't kill her.......' He glanced around to see how the others were doing. That was funny. He couldn't see Sango, and Miroku was just passed out. Kagome and Inuyasha were embracing, but there was so much blood on Kagome. He hadn't heard any of Inuyasha's attacks....... the pieces fell into place.
'Of course! They're illusions! Nari warned us about them. Kagome was attacked by Inuyasha, and he by her!' Kohaku congratulated himself on figuring that out, but then he thought:
'Does that mean that Nari is being attacked by........ by me?'
"I can smell you!" Nari shot more Wind Nites at Kohaku. The tree was blown to bits. teh dust cleared, and all that could be seen was a tall figure, standing perfectly straight, as his father had taught him.
"You're not Nari. Illusion, correct?" Kohaku asked.
"What are you talking about?" Kohaku smiled. He had not missed the hesitation in her voice.
"You are. Metal Chain Snake!" He attacked the illusion and it was split into two halves, both of which disappeared into the wind. Kohaku leaned against the mostly destroyed tree, sliding down and trying to catch his breath.
*Mini- Kag-Ko
"Illusions........." Koga heard Miroku mutter.
'Illusions!?'
"Wind Circle!" Koga dodged as another tornado brushed by. He sniffed the air, and swore. Kagura was coated in Rysuki's scent, and cloaked in his magic. He swore again. This....... This was not Kagura. The others were right. They were all illusions. He then remembered that Nari had warned him about this. The illusions!
"Ahhh!" Koga yelled as a second tornado hit him in the leg, ripping open the poor limb. He pushed it together, trying not to show pain. The wound sealed in minutes, but by then, the Kagura had released another tornado. Koga dodged, jumping real close to Kagura.
"You- Little..........." Koga slashed at Kaguras neck and shoulder. The Kagura was dissappearing on the wind by the time that Koga said hsi final worsd to her.
"Don't ever do that again!"
*Kohaku*
"I........ I have to get to....... To Nari." Kohaku pushed himself up. His wounds were healing slowly. He staggered up and transformed into a demon. In his youkai form, the wounds started to heal at a more acceptable pace. He stumbled over to where he thought Nari would be. He searched for her mental pattern. There! It was far to his right. He began walking, reday for a long journey. He had to save Nari.
*Miroku*
Miroku woke up. He wasn't fully healed, but he could manage. He pushed himself up onto his feet and saw Kohaku leaving, heading right. He followed.
'Where ever Nari is, that's where Kohaku's heading, and where ever Nari is, Sango will be too.' He staggered after Kohaku.
*Inuyasha/Kagome*
"We have to go." Kagome said. Inuyasha stiffened, but then she added, "I don't want to, but we have to defeat Rysuki. We won't have our swords much longer. He's the one who planned all this, I will never forgive him." Kagome got up and extended a hand to Inuyasha.
"Let's go." Inuyasha said, grabbing the offerd hand. He didn't let go.
"Together, right?" Kagome asked.
"Forever."
*Koga*
"Ugh...." Koga felt his wounds. He saw the others leaving and limped after them. He had to protect Kagura. Someone could be hurting her right now.
'Even worse,' Koga thought grimly as he limped after the others, 'I could be hurting her.'
"Dust Devil!" The attack nearly hit Kagome, and she had to transform into her cat form to dodge. She picked up an odd scent as she did so. Rysuki!
