InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ New Journey ❯ 38 ( Chapter 38 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]
Nari slowly saw her mothers soul fall. She was so angery as she saw it disappear, ascending to Heaven. She looked back at her father. He was just smiling and laughing, shaking the tentecle meant to kill Nari.
"You're... just... smiling!?" Nari demanded, her anger burning as hot as a fire. She strated to glow red. "You're... LAUGHING... at her?!" Nari's amger burned white-hot, and as it did, brought about a new transformation. Her feathers turned pitch black, as dark as the night. The night itself was quickly waning, and Nari stood out as a black cloud in an orange, blue, and pink sky, the sky of new dawn. Her eyes lost all other colors and became black, with faint red streaks running around and through the blackness. Her skin went pale, and, if you had looked, you would've seen an angery bird demoness that radiated anger.
"Yes." Rysuki said, unfazed. Nari's anger reached a point beyond white-hot - her entire body had been consumed by that dark fire. But, at teh heart of this fire, was love, and protectiveness. Rysuki couldn't touch it. Nari called to teh others, who had gathered behind her.
"Attack, all together. One...." Everyone readied their swords.
"Two......" The swords were raised.
"All your strength now! Three! Vengence of the Winds!" Naris' attack had morphed too. No longer Bites, her attack was more like Dance of the Dragon then Dance of Blades. Everyone called out with her, using the last of their strength. If this didn't hit and finish him, they were dead.
"Metal Chain Snake!"
"Mikos Tears!"
"Earth Acoplyse!"
"Crimson Wolf Flame!"
"Land Stampede!"
"Song of the Sea!"
The attacks all seemed to form one ball, glowing faintly pink. As the attack drew closer to Rysuki, it pulsed and glowed brighter then ever. Rysuki drew back a step, unsure of what the magic was. He could feel something that wasn't youkai energy, not mixed human/ youkai, or miko energy. It was something different altogether. It was a warm feeling, welcoming and comforting, at teh very heart. It was power untapped, many times stronger then any jewel, even if it was teh Shikon Jewel. It couldn't purify, it couldn't do anything by itself. The emotion was a neutral one, one that anyone could have. Rysuki had never felt this before.
'Is this....... love?' he wondered as the ball hit him and he exploded in a blast of light. He felt his soul leave, and was sucked into Limbo, where he awaited his Final Judgement. He was shocked.
'How... how could they? They...... I was winning......' Rysuki was sucked into Limbo, not to leave again, except on a long trip down.......
*Koga*
As soon as he saw that teh battle was over, Koga raced to Kagra's body. It was cooling down. He stroked her cool cheek as the sun peeked over the horizen. It mocked him. It symbolized life, when all he wanted was dead. He thought about that for as while.
'I.. love her, don't I? At first..... I hated her for slaying my pack, but then- with her heart back- I needed her to strengthen my pack. A wolf with my speed and her abilities would make our pack one of the strongest....' He smiled thinly. 'That need for her power simply became for.. her. Kagome wasn't that useful to me, and she was always Inuyasha's woman. I pursued her because I needed her Shikon detecting abilities.... But now......' Koga's smiled faded, and- alreday thin- it disappeared completely. He wanted nothing more then to have her back, but.......
'It's not possible......' he thought, stroking her cold cheek. 'Kagura.......' he thought, looking at her face, the n blinked. Her cheekw as getting warm, and her eye..... did it twitch?
"Uhhh......." Kagura moaned. "Koga........?" She called out. Koga wrapped her in his arms, bringing her to a sitting position.
"Kagura...? Is it you....?" Koga tried to stop the tears, and succedded in all but one case. A lone tear broke through, clearing away the dust and mud of hours- as well as the blood- in that one soliatry droplet.
"Of course it's me." Kagura whispered, holding him close. "Who else would I be? I missed you........."
"I was worred. You actually worried me..... You died......" Koga clutched her closer, but she pulled back slightly.
"It's okay...." Kagura said, giving him a tenative kiss on the lips. They broke apart, and she whispered. "I'm here now.. Sh...... it'll be alright."
"Kagura..." Koga murmured, hugging her as tight as he could. She returned the gesture. He stroked her hair with a free hand.
"I'm so happy that you're back.........."
*Sango*
Sango saw Rysuki explode in pink light. When she saw Rysuki's soul depart, she ran to Miroku's still form. She was crying. When she got to Miroku, she dropped to her knees.
"Miroku......." Sango cried, bending right over teh body, her tears falling on his face.
'He's gone....... that perverted monk is gone...... I won't see him, hit him, kiss him.... again....' Sango felt hollow, like she had when she had seen Kohaku kill her father and comrades, like she had when she first learned of her village being slain.
"My dear Sango, quit getting me wet." Sango's head jerked up, looking straight at Miroku's face. A very alive- if wet- face. The grin was there like always.
"Mi-Miroku..?" Sango asked. He sat up, rather gingerly.
"Yes Sango. I'm back." He wrapped her in his arms, pinning her arms to his chest. Sango didn't try to get out.
"I'm not dreaming... am I? You were dead........" Miroku shsuhed her with a quiet peck on her lips.
"Does that prove that it's not a dream? I'm as real as you are Sango. Do I feel real?" Miroku took her hands in his and placed them over his heart. "It beats."
"Miroku!" Sango hugged him, crying with her happiness. Miroku stroked her hair and smiled.
*Nari and Kohaku*
"She-she's gone....." Nari said numbly to Kohaku, who was holding her in his arms and stroking her long hair.
"Shhh..... we have to mourn when we get back...." Kohaku sniffed, but tried to hide it. "We'll bury her under the magnolia tree, if the servents haven't already. I'm still here........" Nari nodded sadly.
"It's just.... she's gone. She raised me, fed me, clothed me, housed me, and now she's-"
"Already mourning? Nice to know I'm loved." A voice said. Nari raised her head slowly, then blinked at what she saw.
"Mo-Mother-?"
"Yes. Com here." The Miko held her arms open wide, and Nari stepped right in. Her mother hugged her firmly, but gentely.
"Yo-you died......"
"So did Miroku and Kagura, but they're back. It seems that I still have things to do. I can stay here a while longer." Nari cried into her mothers shoulder.
"I'm so glad you're back." Kohaku said. He wasn't sure what to do with himself. he wnated to join the hug: the Miko was like his own mother, but he didn't want to intrude on a family moment.
"Oh, come here." The Miko took an arm away from her daughter, extending it to him. Kohaku stepped in hesitantly.
"You're like my own son- the son I never had. You're my family now." the Miko whispered. She slowly stepped away from the two. "You are my little girls' man. You and Nari are my family, and Miroku and Sango, Koga and Kagura, Inuyasha and Kagome, Shippo, Kirara, and Myoga. I had a very small family, just myself and Nari, but now I have ana enormous family." The Miko beamed at them. "Come now, we have to go tell the others." The three walked right beside each other and walked to Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippo. They were all overjoyed to see the Miko again, and were further delighted that she was here to stay, for as long as she was needed. They didn't even have to walk to teh other four people, they came to them. Everyoen was so ahppy to see one another again. They hugged and cried a lot, but then they listened to sense and got moving back to the house as soon as they bandaged their wounds. Sango and Miroku held hands, as did Kagura and Koga, Nari and Kohaku, and Inuyasha and Kagome.
They walked like that all the way home, stopping for the things they needed, like rest, food, baths, etc. It took them longer to get back, simply because they had time. They were almost back, they were just one days travel. They were almost healed, and life was good, but Kagoem wante dto go to her time. They all agreed, once they stopped at the house. They never even knew that they had another person coming with them.
