InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ New Journey ❯ 42 ( Chapter 42 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
*Humans*
"Emperor, we have to prepare an army. Your father is just dead, the men are disbanding. We risk attack from the terrifying youkai or the sulliers of our blood, the hanyous." A servant sttod by the new emporer. The young boys face was taut with concern. Only twenty, and yet he was the emporer.
"Pay the men to stay. Don't empty the treasury, and just bring enough back to protect myself and my reatiners." The servant nodded, and slipped away. The young emporer looked over his grounds from his chair. He even imagined himself playing again, in teh fields, but he knew that wasn't to happen.
'I wish I were young again. That Kazui wouldn't have let himself be chained like this. I want adventure!' Kazui- for that as his name- nearly jumped as a blue glow surrounded him.
"Huh?" he wondered before he was whisked away.
*Youkai*
"We must wipe out those inferior races." A youkai lord said quietly. "I have alreday launched an attack against teh filthy half-bloods in my region."
"As have I." A white-haired demon lord said. "Yet one still eludes his death at my hands."
"That brother of yours?" The white-haired youkai spun around calmly.
"Half-brother. Yes." Sesshomaru said. Just then, a blue light shone around the gathered youkai lords, all 20 of them.
*Miles away- with the Hanyou*
"Red! Red.... they'll attack soon." A very young hanyou came bursting into the cave that ahd a stalagmite growing form the bottom that looked liek a chair. It had been dubbed the 'Throne Room' for teh small hanyou community. Currently, a half-cat demon with red fur held the 'King' post. He had fur the color of iron oxide- earning him his nickname.
"I know Yashi." Red sighed. He was hoping tht the youkai lords wouldn't bother with them. They hadn't but recently a youkai had started stirring up hatred against the hanyou. Most hanyous were out, hiding from the youaki as well as the Hanyou Mountain. Only about twenty hanyous were ever in Hanyou Mountain, as evryone but teh humans and youkai called it.
"We don'y have enough people here mi'lord. They have about 15, we have twenty. They still have enough to wipe us out." A somber, grey-wolf hanyou said. The grey-wolf was a consultant. Seh kept track of the numbers of things or hanyous in teh mountain.
"You sure?" Red asked. "Then we'll ahve to fight to teh death. Some may survive...." Suddenly, a blue light started to shine around teh three. They could not know it, but every hanyou had that same blue glow.
"What the-?" Red asked aloud, just as he disappeared and reappeared in a barrier, created by a young woman.
*Mikos house*
They set to work. They had no difficulty erecting barriers, but teh hard part would come next.
"How am I supposed to Summoun things into teh barriers?" Miroku asked.
"They'll just drop the barrier, then put it up." the Miko said. "It's just like an attack sent through a barrier, but in reverse." Miroku nodded.
"One..... two...... three..... DROP THE BARRIERS!" Inuyasha yelled, keeping time for Miroku. Miroku called out to every human leader and transported them to the first barrier. Kohaku sealed it. He then directed his attention to the hanyou. He called all 50 of them to teh second one. anri quickly sealed it. Finally- and sweating by this point- Miroku called the youkai lords into the third one. Shippo closed it fatser then the other two, not wanting any to escape.
"Where are we...?" Kazui asked from the humans barrier. He put his hand against the barrier, testing it.
"I demand to know you have taken this Sesshomaru!" Sesshomaru said from his position.
"I wish the same!" Red called out. "Where am I?" Miroku held up his hands.
"Positions people." he said softly, taking Sango's hand and moving towards Kazui and the rest of the humans with her. Inuyasha took Kagome's hand and led her to Red and the rest of teh hanyous. Koga and Kaguar did likewise- joiened hands and walked to Sesshomaru and teh other youkai. They walke dinto teh barriers soundlessly, then chaos erupted.
*Humans*
"Who are you?"
"What business have you with us?"
"Stop! I demand to know where I am!"
Miroku groaned. He was getting a headache.
"Can you cut it out?" Sango snapped. They all stopped for a moment, shocked that a lady would dare backtalk a noble.
"Who are you? I am speaking for myself and teh rest of the humans present. What are you?' Kazui said. The others muttered behind him as he pushed his way to the front, but grudgingly allowed him to.
"I am Sango, and this is Miroku. We wnat you all to make peace with teh hanyou's and youkai." Instantly, tehre was an uproar at Sango's words.
"Never!" shouted one fat man. "Never as long as I draw air!"
"I second that!" another man shouted.
"Why should we be kileld, trying to make 'peace'? We'd be like the lambs to slaughter!"
"Be quiet!" Miroku shouted. There was silence almost instantly. Miroku sighed. " We want you to make peace so that our land doesn't fall to ruin in your wars."
"How do you know this? And why do you call it 'your land'?" Kazui asked. "Also, of what professions are you and your lady, if she can be called taht and you dare to tell a lord what to do?"
"I am a monk, and she is a demon exterminator. Refer to her as 'lady'." Miroku warned. Kazui snorted.
"A monk? And you travel with a demon exterminator? I refuse to believe it! It is clear that some of your other... companions," Kazui turned a comtemptous glare on Inuyasha and teh others. "Are demons! One's even a half-demon! There are humans among your party, but why do you have the filth with you?"
"That 'filth'a s you so kindly refered to them, happen to include my best friend, and our allies. We're all friends; you'd do well not to insult them." Sango warned, her temper fraying.
"Is that other girl your best frined? Seh can't be much of one; by teh looks of it, she's wife to a hanyou!" Kazui said. Sango's patienece broke.
"And, you monk," Kazui went on, oblivious to Sango's glare. "Why hang around such an.. unseemly lot?" Miroku now had a glare of his own. "The filthy hanyou and youkai...... are you waiting to excorsise them?"
"Watch what you call them. If you continue your disrespectful way of speaking about them, then we'll ahve to show you the error of your ways, and I wish to avoid that. We want to join the hanyou, youkai, and humans together in peace."
"Peace? As in, hanyou and youkai having a piece of a human army every day?" That was teh last straw. Miroku and Sango both transformed into demons. The humans suddenly looked very afraid.
"Enough, okay? I still wish to avoid bloodshed, and to do so I must ask you to reconsider and accept our proposel of peace between the three peoples." Kazui swallowed.
'When I said I wanted adventure, I didn't mean staring down two youkai!'
"O-Okay. Let me check with the others." Kazui needn't have worried. The others were cowering, begging for Miroku and Sango not to hurt them. They detransformed. Sango was smiling.
"I knew you'd see it our way."
"How do we know that the youkai and hanyous will eb fair?" Kazui asked. Miroku and Sango turned to leave, Miroku calling out:
"They will. Trust us. Please elect a speaker with everyone's best interests. He'll be meeting with the hanyou leader and youkai leader." Miroku looked directly at Kazui before continuing. "I suggest the emporer, but that's just me." Dumbfounded, Kazui stared after him.
"I guess..... the monk is correct. I should go." he said, addressing the other humans. They nodded. Most had heard of the old emporer's death and knew that Kazui was the next in line. He went to the edge of teh barrier, just in time to see Miroku nodding to Kohaku. He was let through, and he followed Miroku, hoping to learn more of what surrounded him.
'What are those two?' he wondered, watching Miroku and Sango. 'What?'
