Naraku huffed, shifting his pack and lifting his leaden feet as he followed after the tall fair-haired chaperone and his younger half brother on what was turning into a three hour hike around the mountain.

 

Behind him he heard Kikyou giggle as Kagome whispered into her ear. Two other young teens followed a ways back. Miroku had not yet had the chance to change groups yet so they were all stuck with him and his new girlfriend, thus the reason they were being pushed so hard. Inuyasha's vengeance was something to be feared.

 

When they had announced the hike Inuyasha had immediately latched onto his brother, the most likely to make what was supposed to be a refreshing workout to stretch their legs after the long ride in the bus into a grueling exercise that pushed their physical limits. Normally, being used to this treatment after knowing Inuyasha for years, the three of them could handle it, but Sesshoumaru was determined to push the two straggling humans over the edge. Inuyasha no doubt influenced that decision.

 

Naraku updated his mental note warning against pissing the inu-hanyou off. Last thing he needed was to have that resentment turned on him.

 

“I still can't believe he wanted to break up.” Kikyou said, glancing back as she shifted Kagome's legs around her waist. Kagome adjusted her arms around Kikyou's neck and breathed deep, the lavender scent of her shampoo filling her lunges.

 

“I don't know, she's…cute. I wouldn't mind having her.” Kikyou's step faltered and Kagome whispered breathily in her ear. “You're still my favorite though.” causing Kikyou to laugh again.

 

“Can you to stop your man hating for two seconds and look at Inuyasha like you mean it?” Naraku asked irritably, slowing down to walk in step beside them.

 

Kikyou stopped and they both cocked their head to the side in unison, watching Inuyasha walk on ahead of them. As if sensing their gaze Inuyasha turned back, throwing them one of his wicked arrogant smirks. At that they both let out ecstatic groans and forged swoons.

 

“Hey! Hey! Hey!” Naraku shouted as he pushed Kikyou and her leech of a girlfriend back up before they could fall on him. “Not funny! Honestly cant you two ever be serious?!” he glared at them before following after the two dogs ahead of them, trying to ignore their aggravating laughter.

 

“Yes Naraku, Inuyasha is one cute pup in public,” Kagome began.

 

“And a sinfully sexy seducer in private,” Kikyou added.

 

“But Miroku is just too straight for his own good.”

 

“And Inuyasha was too…”

 

“Manipulative?” Naraku asked.

 

“I was going to say psychotic, but that's fine.” Kikyou smiled at him, adjusting her grasp on Kagome's thighs again.

 

They all laughed.

 

“Why don't you date Inuyasha Naraku? You both have sooo much in common.” Kagome asked.

 

“Gross, we're practically brothers I mean Sesshoumaru and Kagura are-”

 

“Dating.” They interrupted, having heard the same excuse too often…

 

“And that would be-”

 

“Weird.”

 

“He's not submissive enough for you.” Kikyou concluded.

 

“And you're too dominant for him.” Kagome added.

 

“It's not only that girls,” they all jumped and stared ahead where Inuyasha stood leaning against a tree waiting for them, “If that was all I would have no problem dating him, just for the challenge of making him submit.”

 

Naraku smirked defiantly, but didn't argue. He knew with Inuyasha's tactics he would be broken in and compliant in a matter of days.

 

“I'm just not attracted to him is all, he's not cute.” Naraku almost fell at that comment.

 

“What do you mean I'm not cute?!” Naraku all but screamed.

 

“Don't get me wrong, you've got the whole sexy arrogance that every dominant male needs, but I have a reputation of being the adorable puppy, the last thing I need is a boyfriend who looks like an animal abuser.” With that InuYasha walked down the narrow path into the trees. “Sesshoumaru says there's a deep sheltered pond up ahead we can rest at.
