InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ New Stranger in Old Times ❯ Chapter 3 ( Chapter 3 )
Sesshoumaru sniffed the air around him, searching for some sign that the girl in front of him was afraid. There was none. He was very surprised by that; everyone was normally scared senseless of him. She just sat there, holding Rin in front of her, waiting for them to land at their destination. They were in the air, headed towards his home in the Western Lands.
Sometime during the long ride, she had fallen asleep and leaned against him. Jaken, who was behind him, began to ramble about pesky humans and was grating on his patience. The warmth that came from the girl's body distracted him and he felt like kicking himself for even thinking about it. The girl was having some sort of effect on him and he didn't like it. Jaken was quiet now and was sitting, probably thinking about all the ways he could torture the new human. Rin however, was daydreaming about her new mother.
Sesshoumaru and Ang both had forgotten to clear up that she was only a hostage. Up ahead, Rin saw the castle-like palace and straightened in her seat. Ang was still sleeping against Sesshoumaru when the dragon landed. Rin jumped down and ran through the doors, happy to be home.
"Wake up human!" Sesshoumaru yelled into the girl's ear.
She jumped and fell to the ground, hurting her ankle in the process.
"You stupid son of a bitch! You made me hurt my...Whoa!"
She yelped as he picked her up by the arm and half carried, half dragged her to her room. Her leg would occasionally hit the ground and she would yell or curse at him for making her hurt herself. When they reached the room she was staying in, she could only marvel at its beauty. She could honestly say that it was more beautiful than a room at the Four Seasons.
Sesshoumaru crossed the room and threw her on the bed. Turning his back, Ang picked up one of the light blue pillows and threw it at him. Having the senses he did, he turned and easily caught it long before it reached him.
"Stupid human. I am not so easily manipulated, whatever games your playing you will stop them now or I will kill you!"
He threw the pillow back to the bed and began to leave. Ang stared in shock.
`What the hell is he talking about? I didn't know I had done anything.'
She watched him get to the door and tried to get up, temporarily forgetting about her leg. She yelped in pain and sat back down.
"Could you possibly get me some heated towels or blankets so I can keep my ankle from swelling too much?" She asked him politely.
He snorted and left anyway. She lay back in the bed and let out a whoosh of air.
"What a jerk!" She said to herself.
"I suppose I could just lay here and not move, though heat would be nice."
She sat up and picked up her leg so that she could lie on the pillows without being uncomfortable. Before she lay down, she noticed that most of the room was decorated in that light blue color. There was a sandy brown dresser next to one of the two windows in her room. She saw that next to the bed was a nightstand of the same color with a large candle on it.
There where light blue curtains on the windows and a rug of the same color on the floor. The bed's blankets and sheets were also the same color. She smiled to herself and lay back against the pillows. Just as she was about to fall asleep, the door to her room slide open and Rin came bouncing through.
"Rin wanted to come and see her new mommy."
She grinned her toothy grin and jumped up on the bed, causing Ang to yelp again in pain.
"Please don't jump on the bed Rin, and I'm not your new mother." She said as sweetly as she could.
Rin instantly stopped bouncing and lay next to her.
"But Sesshoumaru-Sama said that you were my new mother."
Ang froze.
`That couldn't be why he brought me here could it? God I hope not!'
Ang scooted up and propped herself up against the headboards.
"I don't think he meant it Rin. I am really confused right now."
Rin scooted over to Ang and lay her head on Ang's lap.
"I would like a new mommy. Rin gets lonely and wants someone to play with." She said sadly.
Ang's heart lurched in her chest, surely she had someone to play with.
"No one ever plays with you Rin?"
Rin began to cry into her lap.
"No. Sesshoumaru-Sama won't play with me and Jaken is always mean. I think he hates me."
Ang absently stroked the girl's head and wished she could do something for her. Being a prisoner, all she could do was hope that Sesshoumaru WASN'T planning on making her Rin's new mother. She did feel bad for the girl yes, but she was to young to have a family. She wanted to enjoy life and have fun before she settled down to have a family. Hopefully, Sesshoumaru had explained the situation wrong to Rin and would fix his mistake.
"RIN!" Sesshoumaru yelled from the door, causing both Ang and Rin to jump from their skins.
The girl got up and ran to her lord.
"Yes Sesshoumaru-Sama?" She said softly with tears in her eyes.
"Go play in the gardens, you may come back later."
He was not as stern as she thought he would be, maybe because he had heard her crying. The girl ran off and did as she was told. Ang watched her go, not wanting to be alone with this crazed man.
"Why did you chase her off? She was just fine sitting here with me!" Ang said at last.
He smirked and walked over to the nightstand beside her. Only then did she notice the blankets he had in his hands.
"I was going to give you these. She dose not need to hear you cry when your leg gets wrapped."
Ang's jaw dropped to the floor.
"You honestly care about her feelings? That's amazing. I always thought you were just using her for something. I don't know what though…" Ang trailed off deep in thought.
The next thing she knew, she felt a clawed hand around her throat, piercing the skin.
"How do you know so much about us? WHY do you know me and Rin?" He said squeezing her throat; she felt drops of blood roll down her neck and chest.
"I told you already. That old lady, Kaede, said I traveled back in time."
He let out a loud growl and dropped her back onto the mattress. She landed on her leg and bit her tongue to keep from screaming.
"You stupid ass-hole. What the fuck did you do that for?" She yelled at him.
"Watch your mouth. I will do as I please in my home. Tell me your story of how you came here, and in FULL detail!" He demanded.
She just huffed and lay back on the pillows.
"Not until you tell me why you kidnapped me in the first place."
She waited for him to answer her, but didn't get one. She felt something gently picking up her leg. Her instincts told her to pull away, but when she tried, the grip tightened on her ankle, causing her pain.
"Hold still!" Sesshoumaru demanded.
"What are you doing?"
He snorted.
"Are you that blind Human!"
Ang watched as he wrapped the still heated blankets gently around her ankle. The heat immediately started to take away the pain and Ang sighed in relief, lying back down on the pillows.
He watched her sigh and lay back down. It was amazing what little control humans had on their emotions. He promptly finished wrapping her leg and set it down.
"I asked you a question human!"
She bolted into an upright position and began to yell at him.
"Damn it, if you don't stop calling me a fucking HUMAN, I swear I will do my best to kick your ass!"
Sesshoumaru just looked at her and smirked.
"You could always try, but a mere human has no chance against a full Youkai."
She huffed again.
"Damn it you get on my nerves you know that, GOD! Now I know why Inuyasha hates you." She said more to herself then him.
`This is going to get interesting' He told himself.
"Why does he hate me, since you know so much?" He said simply.
She rolled her eyes and lay back down again.
"Never mind you over grown fluff ball."
Sesshoumaru grabbed her up again. She could tell she pissed him off.
"What did you just call me?" He hollered.
"Ack…you heard me. Fluff ball!" She yelled as best she could, it wasn't easy with him crushing her throat.
He raised his other claw to her throat, ready to make the kill. He paused for a moment, as if considering what he should do. This did not go unnoticed by Ang. She was about to say something, probably to piss him off, but then he stood her in front of him.
"No one has ever dared to stand up to me before. No Youkai or Human alike would have survived for it either."
His voice was gentle and sounded caring.
`Maybe he is lonely. I know I would be.' Ang thought to herself.
"I will spare you this once, but in the future, you may not be so lucky." His voice went back to being hard and stony.
`What am I doing? Just what AM I doing?'
He found himself leaning towards the shocked human girl. Her scent filling his nose and body reacting to it.
`Strange.' He thought to himself.
Then his lips closed over hers, smothering her almost inaudible gasp. He had no idea what caused him to do such a thing. But he liked it, and THAT was what scared him. She stood there in complete shock.
`What is this moron doing? Doesn't he know he isn't supposed to kiss hostages?'
Her thoughts were interrupted when his arms came around her waist, pulling her small body into him. He licked her lips and she naturally opened them, accepting his kiss. Her instincts took over and she threw her arms around his neck, pulling him even closer. She heard him try to stifle a moan, but she heard it none the less.
`WHAT AM I DOING? HE KIDNAPPED ME FOR CHRIST SAKES!'
She pulled back and tugged out of his arms.
"What are you doing Sesshoumaru?" She questioned.
She could tell that he was just as confused as her by the look on his face.
"I, I'm not sure. I will return for you later." He said softly and left.
She climbed back to the bed and re-wrapped her ankle, which she had totally forgotten about. Her mind was racing with questions.
`Why don't I just tell him the story and leave? What if he won't let me leave? What the fuck made me kiss him back? Why did he kiss me in the first place? GOD I need a vacation!'
She gave up in frustration and quickly fell asleep.

Down the hall, in his own room, Sesshoumaru frowned at himself.
`How could I have kissed her? I am becoming like my father and that damned half-breed brat. This can not and will not happen. Why did I capture her anyway? Surely, Inuyasha won't trade her for the Tetsusaiga. My original plan, just to capture that miko and trade her for the sword, had been fucked up ever since I touched the new human. But who is she? Why is she here? Most importantly, why is she talking about `Time Traveling'.'
He kept on debating until the late hours in the night. He had completely forgotten about Rin in the gardens. Jaken was with her, so he knew that he didn't need to worry. Finally, there was a light tap on his door, drawing him from his thoughts.
"Sesshoumaru-Sama?"
He turned and walked to the door.
"Yes, Rin?" He said.
"Can I go and see mommy now? I played like you said." She whispered.
Sesshoumaru cringed when she referred to the human as her mother.
"She is not your mother Rin, nor will she be."
Her face went from hopeful too teary.
"But you said she was my new mommy!"
Sesshoumaru took the child by the hand and walked out the door. Leading her down the hall, he heard her begin to cry. That was something he couldn't stand. Hearing her cry gave him proof that he had emotions bottled up inside of him. He hated that it made him feel degraded and low. He got to the door he was aiming for and released her hand, then the girl ran into the room. Suddenly Rin stopped and started walking backwards out of the room.
"What is it Rin?" He said, still standing outside the door.
Rin pointed to the bed and continued walking out, backwards.
"Mommy's sleeping." She said.
He looked down at her and walked into the room.
"Rin, go on and go to bed." He told her.
The young girl nodded and walked the rest of the way out of the room. Sesshoumaru walked over to the bed and looked down at the human girl. She was on her stomach with both arms under the pillow, which was under her head. Her legs were outstretched and crossed at the calves. Her swollen ankle still wrapped in the small blanket from earlier.
Her long golden tresses fell over her shoulder and around her face, making her look like an Angel. Little did he know that was her actual name. He reached out and gently pulled back one of the long strands of hair from her face. She really was beautiful, though she would never hear it from him. He silently caressed her cheek and wasn't surprised when she sighed and turned to lean into his hand.
`She's a crazy little vixen!' He thought.
He stood and was about to walk out of the room when her hand shot out and caught his wrist.
"What did you think you were doing?" She asked softly.
"I was checking your ankle. After all, it was my fault you fell."
She turned over and sat up, removed the blanket and examined her foot.
"It's fine now. Thank you."
He snorted and began to walk away.
"Go back to sleep human."
He started to leave again, but she got up and ran over to him. Stopping only when she was right behind him. He didn't even notice her hand swing in the air until she reached out and punched him in the side. He flinched only a little, even though the pain was sharp and slicing. He turned around to find her grinning from ear to ear.
"What did you strike me for HUMAN?"
She could tell she had pissed him off, but what about her rights, it was high time he gave them to her.
"You won't stop calling me GOD DAMNED HUMAN!" She yelled so loud that he had to cover his ears.
"You are a human." He mused.
"My name is Angel. No, wait. Ang. Just call me ANG, ok. Can you handle that?" She asked seriously.
Why he grinned was a complete mystery to her.
`Now I know why she looked like an Angel in her sleep. Never would have guessed that was her real name.'
He was certainly amused by this.
"Very well Ang. Just so you know, Angel suits you better, especially when you're asleep."
He then left the room without another word.
`Did he just, COMPLIMENT me? This guy is so confusing.' She thought.
She walked back over to the bed and soon fell asleep.
*************************************************************
Back with Inuyasha and the gang. Everyone was asleep. Except of course Kagome. Kagome was too worried about her newest friend.
"Inuyasha?" She called quietly.
"What is it wench?"
He grunted and hopped off the tree branch over head, landing softly beside Kagome.
"Inuyasha, I'm worried about Ang. Why do you think he took her? And don't growl at me, I'm tired of that. Just be nice and answer me for once okay?" She looked pleadingly at him.
"Feh! He probably took her cause he THINKS I'm gonna trade my sword for her. Fat chance!" Inuyasha grumbled.
"We can't leave her there. How are can we get her back?"
Kagome was extremely worried that her friend would be killed. Sesshoumaru was vicious and did what ever it takes to get what he wanted.
"Ha. Like I know. We'll get her back. Stop worrying so damn much."
Kagome shuttered and sat back down against the tree. Inuyasha reluctantly followed.
"Look. We have only known this girl for a day. She probably can take Good care of herself. I think your worrying for NO reason at all."
Kagome listened to his words and decided that he was probably right.
"Thank you Inuyasha. Maybe now I can get some sleep."
She leaned over and kissed him quickly on the lips. Before he had time to react, she was back to her sleeping bag and half way asleep.
`Some women!' He thought and jumped back onto his branch up ahead.
Soon after, he too fell asleep.
